Kiara lead herself away from the hustle and bustle of the docks, sure that Gregory was following. The crowds began to thin at last, and she was allowed movement once more.
"Well, where do we go now?" She turned towards Faust, looking expectantly up into his eyes. Hopefuly he would be able to take over from here. If he didn't...well.....she supposed she could entertain herself by looking for an inn. Mabye he could help. He deffinatley knew the city much better than her. And who knew. He might become her first friend in a new world.
(Sorry it's so short)
Gregory cringed as she asked him where they were off to. She appeared weary, as he would have guessed after hearing of her long voyage. Small talk was rare with the two now as the deafening buzz of a city surrounded them. Leading his eyes back and forth to each side of the street, he finally brightened as a sign signifying and inn caught his attention. It was a small place, seeming pleasant and peaceful, without the hustle and bustle that the bigger inns had. Tapping the girl quickly on the shoulder, he directed her vision to the inn before turning sharply and cutting a path through the crowd, his golden aura doing much of the work for him.
As he reached the door, he looked back to be sure that the girl was still following him, and with a quiet grunt, he shoved the heavy revolving door inwards, catching it before it swung back to hold it open for Kiara, as his manners demanded. With a shrug of his shoulder, he spun his head once, cracking his sore and jostled neck, and made his way to the nearest table. Upon sitting, he was truly able to relax, and the aroma of cooking bread and honeyed scones greeted him. He had not eaten for a while, he realized, but it was not suppertime, he was simply being fooled into thinking he was hungry by the sweet, sweet smells. As a woman approached to take their order, he quickly ordered a flask of thin mulled wine and one honeyed scone for himself. He signaled the girl to pick whatever she wanted, as it was his treat.
"So... Do you know who your celestial blood originated from?" He coughed as he tried to return the words to his mouth, "I, I'm so sorry for my bluntness. I suppose I was just curious, it's no matter." He was blushing at his loss of manners brought on by his curiosity, as it always was. With a swig of mulled wine, he drowned away the blush and quickly resumed stuffing his scone down his mouth and waiting for her to ask a question or perhaps answer.
Kiara scanned throught the crowd, or tried to realy. The people were still rather thick here. She was about to ask Gregory again when she felt the tap on her shoulder. She quickly turned around to see him indicate an inn, then begin cutting a path through the people. She quickly followed in his foot steps. She wasn't intimidating herself, but he seemed to be doing a good job of getting through. Soon, they were standing in the door way of thew inn. Gregory looked back to sse her right behind him, then pushed his way in.
She followed him through another crowd to the closest open table. He seatted himself, quickle and Kiara, following suite, did the same. The alluring fragrance of juicy meats floated throughout the room, making her stomach growl. When the bar maid came, she ordered a simple red wine. Nothing too fancy.
"So... Do you know who your celestial blood originated from?"
Kiara jerked her head towards him, surprised by his forwardness. And slightly amused. That her wings could set off another man in such away...it was just funny to her. "I, I'm so sorry for my bluntness. I suppose I was just curious, it's no matter."
"Oh, don't worry about it. It's kind of interesting realy. My father was the half celestial and married my mother. She was a paladin." Her wine was set on the table next to her, and she switched her attention from Gregory to take a sip.
