Title: Looking Around
Nightwind - November 22, 2006 03:21 PM (GMT)
Savarkael stomped around the ruins as the sun shined in the sky, which made it a wonderful day to look around the ruins. Last time she was here it was night and raining but then she met one of her friend that night, but he had an annoying Umbra with him. But everyone has to have some form of animal following them like Sava now, she had a small dragon fly, flying around her head and speaking nothing important with her telepathic powers. But Sava just ignored the little animal, even though it was nice to have company, and it was really nice to have company when the dragon fly would shut up, but Blackquill rarely did. As Sava walked she moved aside when she noticed big piles of rubble that were in her path.
She didn't care if she made a lot of noise, but Blackquill always told Sava to be quiet, but the medium black and green dragon just kept walking ignoring the little beast. No one is out here, Quill, Sava thought angrily, and a rock fell on her front left claw, and Sava roared in anger lifting her clawed foot and smashed the rock. Her eyes blazing with anger. "I hate rocks, and I really hate them when there falling off building's." She snapped in the air. Soon Sava continued walking through the ruin's wanting to get out of here but knows she should look around more. So she stayed looking under buildings that are about to fall down but quickly moved her head before it maybe would fall down.

The winds swept a curious scent to his nose. A strong smell of dragon's was in the air, but it didn't seem to be just one a the dragon's most certainly weren't of the same type. Puzzling. They all seemed to be female and one seemed to be a black dragon, but beyond a doubt not Munwithurix. A pity, he wouldn't mind crashing whatever party she was throwing. He couldn't quite point out what the other dragons were by scent, but he knew the dragons weren't all black. It appear that this might be some congregation of dragons, and while it would be clearly dangerous to try and sneak in, it was hard to try and not be curious about the hapenings in such a meeting. The scents were coming in the direction of the nearby ruins, maybe the dragons thought they could find their secrecy there.
Not long before reaching the beginings of the ruins city did he hear the noise Sava was making as she moved her wieght around the ruins. By now he could tell that one of the other scents was indeed a green dragon, but there was something strange about the scent as well as that of the black dragon. It didn't sound like anyone was trying to keep some secret meeting, but what ever the occasion he wouldn't find out tell he got in closer.
As Vernon carefully climbed up a sturdy structure he'd already come to the conclusion that one of the dragons was a halfling, which would explain the strange diluted scents, likely the one that was plodding around and complaining of rocks. He could hear he rapidly beating wings of a small creature on the other side ofthe structure as well, which doublessly accounted for the draconic scent he still couldn't identify. By now, despite being down wind of them, the pair probably could smell his distateful and were warned of his prescence despite his stealthy movement and once he was up on top of the building he would probably get a clear view of them and they would have the chance for likewise.

"Blackquill be quiet, I can't think with you telepathic voice in my head!" Sava snapped at the little fly dragon, and quill was quiet and curled up onto one of Sava's horns. The medium sized dragon sniffed the air and a disgusted look was in her eyes. What is that nasty oder? she thought sending it telepathic to Blackquill, and Blackquill quickly answered not knowing it either. Sava had stopped where she was, not moving except her tail moving back and forth. Her eyes searched the place not seeing anything, she looked up and behind herself, finding nothing. Most be just the ruins though I didn't smell anything like this when I entered it, she thought confused, and she continued walking trying to ignore the smell.
"Blackquill, go look around." Sava said quietly to the fly dragon, and the fly dragon went off flying around the ruins looking through and all over. Hopefully that little worm can find something, She thought angrily, as her head looked around. I can't find anything... Blackquill complained sending over the telepathic message to Sava. Just keep looking, Quill, there is something that is sending that horrid smell, and I know it can't be dead body's, maybe fresh ones but you would think I'll know, Sava returned to Quill.
Her eyes darted around the ruins sniffing the air trying to find the source of the smell, and it seemed stronger from a broken down structure. Her head turned and she stared at the structure and her eyes narrowed with anger. There were many ways to get her angry, even if it was little things like the stench that went through the air now, it for some reason made her angry, and so she stood there looking at the broken building looking it up and down, her eyes never leaving it.

Silence? The dragons must have been making use of nonverbal means of communication, for Vernon would have been able to hear low whispers from where he was. The small dragon was buzzing around the ruins quickly, but the larger halfbreed had stopped her movement. She was close, he could tell by here breathing and sniffing the air. He'd have to be ready for trouble when he got to the top, for if he was going to get any it would be in the begining and dragons were always big trouble.
He sent a hand to the blade at his side and softly mutterd a few arcane words. A liquid poison ran down the blade's length and allowed him to reduce the sound made when the blade was finally pulled out. The sleeping poison of the liquid and the poison of the blade however wouldn't be very useful if he couldn't get past her scales. He quickly returned to his climb, eager to get out of his poor position and get the worst part of their meeting over with.
Just as Vernon reached the top he caught the gaze of an angered halfbreed dragon. Could he ever meet a dragon that was pleased to meet him, then again could he ever meet anyone who was pleassed to meet him? Still there was some hope that this wouldn't lead up to a fight, but that would likely take some smooth talking which wasn't anywhere near Vernon's skills. He held his ground with his weapon ready in his hand, waiting to see what the dragon would do.
