Title: rest and recouperation

demus - December 26, 2003 09:12 PM (GMT)
they landed near a small building, in rather bad shape, the building consisting of 4 rooms, in a square shape, all with walls intact, short of the one with the entrance....."we can take turns resting, as the mountain trolls come through here nightly, they know i stay here, and often atempt to bother me, mostly begging for things from me, food, water, they do not seem as stupid as i once imagined, pathetic all the same however...i am sure they would kill us, and eat our bodies if we were to be asleep whin they arrived, it is up to you to decide who sleeps first, but if it is i, when they arrive, you must wake me, i do not wish to slaughter them all....i wish to someday enlist them as my servants, and they do me no good dead, before i finish speaking, as i have spoken much, and my voice grows sore, i must warn you that idf the beast known as granderk, he is their leader, comes, we will have to kill him, as he has an insationable taste for flesh...."

Aeacus - December 27, 2003 12:41 AM (GMT)
Aeacus was in a daze like state. Wha- oh right, right, Um....granderk right. Well I'll take the first watch. I'll wake you in about four or five hours, if there are no problems before then. Aeacus put everything aside and rested her back on the wall. When the moonlight caught her large green eyes you could faintly see the beggining of tears.

demus - December 27, 2003 12:48 AM (GMT)
demus laid his head on the harsh stone floor, not wanting to use his belongings as cuchioning, as he prefered the floor, it made him sleep uneasily, and this made him wake easier, he saw the tears begin to roll down her face, and wondered, should he ask her, or should he let it wait.....he knew not why she cried, but hoping it did not involve him, he chose to wait to ask....as he would not want to be asked either if he had such emotions boiling to that point in his mind......he had long since learned to push his emotions back, as he beleived they were a sign of weakness.....although seeing this made him think again on this beleife, she was not weak......

Aeacus - December 27, 2003 12:58 AM (GMT)
Aeacus was angry with herself for letting herself cry. It's a weakness. I can not show people that I may be weak! Aeacus brushed them off and kept the rest back. So not to fall alseep Aeacus quitly practiced her fencing skills. She had learned a tiny bit from her father when she was five and a lot from Jack. ((ooc go to Character Related and click Aeacus: Sad and Adventures life or something like that.)) She stabbed an imaginary person with her left arm and her shoulder pained her badly. She let out a small yelp and made sure Demus didn't awaken. Aeacus then sat down and tried to bandage and heal her wounds. Five hours and 3 minutes passed slowly. Aeacus gently awoke Demus.

demus - December 27, 2003 01:18 AM (GMT)
demus woke and began to go for his blade as aeacus shook his shoulder, but then upon seeing her he pushed it back the inch or so that he had pulled it from the sheath.....he stood, and pointed to a few tatterd robes that he had brought here previosly, and said that she could use them to rest her head if she liked, and asked how long she wished to sleep..demus then reached to her and using his thumb, wiped away a stray tear hat she had obviosly missed, and then smiled at her, and said,"do not worry, your secret is safe with me, we shall speak of this another time if you wish, and your fencing skills are impressive, i would like to know of the person who tought you, they must have been a great warrior....but sleep for now," he paused, "sleep well ally, sleep well," he then left the room, incase she wished to change, or clean her self in any way, he pointed to a large bowl of water as he left to walk around the parimeter of the old relic of architecture.

Aeacus - December 27, 2003 01:31 AM (GMT)
Whenever dawn breaks or you need a break wake me. Thank you. Aeacus muttered a silent curse to herself for letting a tear slipp. She was touched that someone cared but still was angry with herself. When Demus was gone, Aeacus took of her shirt and tied it around her breasts in case Demus came in. She washed the wounds and put her shirt back on and tried to sleep. Luckly she did sleep but the same dream came as every night.

demus - December 27, 2003 02:38 AM (GMT)
demus walked about the area, scanning into the distance as he did, once before leaping onto the hard stone roof of the building, not using his wings to fly, but merely to aid the jump, it was only ten or so feet up.....he landed softly so as to not risk wakeing up aeacus, although the stone would have absorbed the sound if he had not done so, he walked to a part of the front of the building that was raised abouve the rest, and about a fott thick, as if it were there to be decorative, and hold a sign for the buildings contents, he had always fancied it a wepon shop, and himself the newest weapon in its arsenal.....he liked to think of himself as a weapon...it made him feel cold, and emotionless, he liked this feeling, it seemed to calm him....he watched from the raised area for hours, the moon was near the edge of the sky , and the orange clouds of sunrise could be seen before he moved again, and he only moved to look in through the building at aeacus sleeping, he noted that she must have tossed about in the night, as she was in a different part of the room, where he could see her through the small cracks in the ceiling, he had not looked until now, as he did not know how long it might have taken to clean , or whatever she planed to do that she might have wanted privacy for,and only looked now as he had herd her movement...he then jumped down from the roof, using his wings to glide a bit, as he was around fifteen feet from the ground where he now stood, and did not want to hit the ground and wake her in a harsh maner, he turned and entered the building, and quitly removed her weapons from her side, and woke her, as he did not have plans of being stabbed this morning...

Aeacus - December 27, 2003 02:47 AM (GMT)
Aeacus had been tossing and turning all night with the same painfull dream. When Demus gently woke her she, again, thought it was him. Aeacus screamed and pushed him off fumbling for her sword, which wasn't there. Aeacus dismissed this and lunged for Demus's throat. She grabbed him and pushed him on his back, choking him. After a second or two Aeacus came to her senses and quickly got off him. She backed up into a corner with her hand over her mouth. Oh dear, I'm SO sorry! I didn't mean- It's just- Tears welled up in her eyes and she quickly flew out of the entrance on top of a large colum some feet away huddled up fighting back tears and humiliation.

demus - December 27, 2003 02:54 AM (GMT)
demus had been smiling as she choked him, as he knew she would attack, and hoped to make her realize he was not who she thought he was, and also that he was not angry, demus took her sword, and slid it trough his belt, carefull to not also slide it through his leg, and then waited a moment before he picked up the water dish she had knocked over, and flew to the area where she was. he landed on a near by building and making sure not to see her face, as he knew she would not want him to, he then yelled, with a calm tone and way about his voice,"tell me when you are ready, and we shall speak of this, i shall share some, and you shall share some! we will make a game of it!, whoever has had the most trouble in there life , gets a gold coin from the other!"

Aeacus - December 27, 2003 03:05 AM (GMT)
Aeacus smiled a little and slowly flew over to him. She had removed all trace that there ever was tears and sat next to him. The coins and game won't be neccesary. I don't want your money or your sympathy. But I might as well tell someone. I only ever told one person and that was Jack. Anyway when I was five my parents were brutelly murdered right in front of me. The man who did it tried to grab and kill me too but I got away. He's been out looking for me ever since trying to kill me or break me. I remember every bit of the murder, every night when I dream, every day when I wander. The blood spilling out of my mothers chest and neck, my dads head rolling around on the floor. The fight my dad had against the man trying to protect me. I especially remember the man. I have no idea who he is but I've been looking for him and he's been looking for me. Aeacus just sat in silence, actually letting the tears spill. After a while she turned and wiped them off. What about you? What hell and torment have you gone through?

demus - December 27, 2003 03:14 AM (GMT)
demus not being able to handle situations like this that well, turned and replied, as if it was all he had to say,"my captors locked us in boxes so no light could get in, for weeks at a time" he then looked away after a seconds pause, "and added, i too saw my father killed.......have you ever herd of a machine called a guillotine? my father was killed with one after being tortured while my mothr and i were forced to watch..."demus paused, and sugguested.."how bout i give you a coin, and you give me one, and we shall call it even?"

Aeacus - December 27, 2003 03:18 AM (GMT)
Aeacus turned towards him. Sure. No I've never heard of a guillotine and don't describe it too me. Do you mind if I ask a question? Aeacus pulled out a coin and gave it to him. Also you asked about my fencing skills earlier. A great warrior indeed, if you call a Pirate a great warrior. Have you ever heard of a man named Jack Stormbreaker?

demus - December 27, 2003 05:13 AM (GMT)
"actually i commented on how well you had been tought, and i have much respect for the pirates, they are like myself in many ways, not too evil, but not afraid to kill, i lived among a pirate colony before i came to this land, my, er....the ship sank of of the coast near here, and i flew to shore to look for help,i was once a man of the sea, and air of course ha ha ha.....and yes my men, my um...my freinds....my fellow pirates spoke of a man by that name, i was too busy runnin the ship...the ships rudder that is....why who is he?"

Aeacus - December 27, 2003 04:31 PM (GMT)
He is Jack Aughbtay or AKA Jack Stormbreaker one of the most famous pirates in Pirates cove. How I met him is rather a long story. Well after my parents were murdered I ran away. Well my parents lived right next to Pirates Cove and I ran away there and boarded a ship. It was Jack's ship and he found me and liked my spirit when I kicked him in the jaw and knocked out a tooth at only five. He was like my father for the next seven years, taught me everything my father couldn't have. I used to be a Pirate, just like them but meaner. Since I was small I could hide about anywhere and get into the other ships treasures. But when I was 12 I decided to go out on my own and now I'm here at 21. I visit Jack and the old mangy crew every now and then. He's always been able to take care of himself. Aeacus smiled at the memories with Jack.

demus - December 27, 2003 04:38 PM (GMT)
demus stood," does this man have a ship?", he paused then began speaking again, "we must go see him, what is his flag he sails over his ship?"......it had been long since demus had been on a ship, he missed it...he had other intentions when he asked to meet jack, but none were evil, or bad.....

Aeacus - December 27, 2003 05:03 PM (GMT)
Aeacus's eyes went a very bright blue as she stood up with Demus. Why do you want to meet Jack? When he's not pillaging a ship it's just a plain black flag. When they are pillaging it's the traditional skull and crossbones.

demus - December 28, 2003 01:38 AM (GMT)
demus sensing her caustion spoke quickly as he placed his hand on her shoulder,"fear not , i often brew evil plans towards others, but not those who have fought beside me, never those.....i simply wish to sail the sea again, it has been so long, and i would like to visit the place where my ship sank, it was carrieng an emmense amount of gold, the ship struck a large rock, about 2 miles out from shore, had it not been for the gold we could have sailed to shore".....demus removed his hand and smiled,"shall i wait until another time to meet this man, it would be just the same to me, although i miss the salty ocean air," demus' eyes now closed, his head tilted back a bit, he took a deep breath, to any inteligent person it would be obvious his mind was elsewhere...

Aeacus - December 28, 2003 02:44 AM (GMT)
Aeacus let him bask in his dream world for a while before speaking and bringing him back to the evil reality. I would very much like to see Jack and your sunken ship but there is a problem. I have received a letter from Jack not some time ago. There is a problem in Pirates cove. She pulled out the letter and began to read it.

Dear Aeacus and whoever might be there with her at this moment,

How have you been? Well anyway to bussiness. I thought I should write to tell you something important. Hopefully you get this in time but Accipter is a good listenter and probably heard this. Well I'm writing to saw that I'm in need of your assistence in Pirates cove. I will tell you why when you get here. But bring friends and weapons. Something odd is happening and that's all I can say. Be swift.

Sincerly and in need of help,
Jack Stormbreaker.

Aeacus folded up the letter and put it back in her pocket. I was heading there when I was attacked and cut in the arm by those orcs. Would you like to help me?

demus - December 28, 2003 02:59 AM (GMT)
"although i would greatly enjoy traveling with you, this is not why i will do so, we have battled together, and it is now my duty to go with you into even the most perolous battles, it is also my pleasure, i enjoy your company, as well as battle at your side, shal we leave now?" demus stretched his wings as he spoke poking and prodding at them looking at the various unsees scars, he could see them , and feel them but others could not, he checked to make sure the injuries would not give way in battle, and that they were well healed,"how far will the trip be?" it has been long since i have enjoyed the sunlight we shold fly during the day if that is okay with you....

Aeacus - December 28, 2003 03:04 AM (GMT)
Aeacus breathed in a deep breath and sighed. There is one problem. I must go somewhere were you can't follow me. I'll meet you at Talas city in the Elvesong Tavern and Inn. Savey? May I have my sword and weapons back now?

demus - December 28, 2003 03:16 AM (GMT)
he smiled, "im not sure i could keep you from taking them from me, we make a good pair in combat, it is nice to fight along side another who knows the air as i do, it is not often that can be found, most who have wings use them for travel, but we, we use them as weapons, i shall see you at the inn" demus stood smiling, he enjoyed his time with aeacus, he did not smile much else where, unless to strike fear into others, he had quite the demented looking smile when coupled with his empty eyes..he held out her weapons and offered her his hand, to shake before he left, deep inside he wanted to hug her, but was unnasure in a million ways of how this was not the right thing to do, she might take it the wrong way, she might not want him to, also, he had never givin a hug, he did not know quite how, as strange as this seems, he felt happy enough with the handshake however.

Aeacus - December 28, 2003 03:25 AM (GMT)
Aeacus took her weapons and put them on. She then returned the handshake but pulled Demus in for a friendly hug. She hugged him tight then let him go. I shall see you at the inn. Be swift, Be safe. And As Jack would say, "Don't get killed our make me come and save you." Aeacus smiled and jumped off the roof. She looked back one last time at Demus, smiled, and began to walk east.

demus - December 28, 2003 04:49 AM (GMT)
demus sat for a second trieng to decide how to take the hug, it was completely new to him, he thought, its like a hand shake but more , more personalized, he was unsure how to think of the hug, but it made him feel good, a different kind of good, not like the rush he received from battle, this was a feeling of comfort that he had never fely before, he smiled and flew into the air, his mind not letting the things that bothered him rise to the front of his mind, instead sinking to the back, with thoughts of the sea, and his family now in the front, he flew about in the sky, lunging from one building to another, and just enjoying the sun a bit before his travel to the inn, he wanted to enjoy a bit of time to think, he then began to pack his things into the hiding place within his dwelling before leaving for town...
