Description: <open to all>

Dark Cheshire - March 17, 2006 07:43 PM (GMT)
The sun burst rays of light into the sky as it slowly rose over the dark horizon, bringing a candle’s glow to the earth. The wheat seemed to raise up, as it’s source of food came up and shined in the blood red sky. The two moons that lit up this world; which was far from Imythess; during the dark night, faded out with the rising of the sun. A young boy stared into the sky, awestruck at the sight of the twin moons. They fascinated him greatly and he had always hoped in his mind that some day he could go there. He sight to himself as he continued to gaze; any place was better than living a god-forsaken life he had no choice but, to live in.

A man, much larger than the young boy, walked out onto the balcony of a large and rich home. He eyed the boy angrily and yelled at him in the same tone that he glared at him with, “Why are you just standing there star-gazing? Don’t you know there is work to be done boy?” He spat off the balcony, missing the young boy by only a few inches and walked back in the house still ranting, raving, and cursing; however, the boy’s distant thoughts had drowned the man’s harsh words out. The boy picked up a large bundle of wheat and headed towards the shed.

The boy had never known his true family and did not even know his own true name. He lived with a rich family who had always called him Lenny and he was sure deep within himself that that was far from his true name. Lenny’s life with in the Kilika house had been grueling; Lenny practically was reduced to doing nothing but slave labor. By the end of each day, he would have new sets of whip marks where he had taken his daily beatings. This day was different from the others and things were about to change for the better, hopefully. From the beginning, it would seem like a regular torturous day, until that night…

Voices were being heard from the storage shack as Lenny approached it that night. One was a normal human male’s voice the other was somewhat dark and demonic almost, “The boy would be perfect; he is a great asset to our plans. Bring him to me…” The other simply replied with, “Yes…Yokura. I shall do as you command.”

Lenny began to back away when he tripped over something behind him. There was a slight yelp that came from his mouth and his eyes widened in fear. He waited for a moment before scrambling to his feet; there was a mysterious and dark silence that disturbed him. He walked forward, towards the door and opened it slowly peering in…

Cheshire snapped awake, glancing around, drinking in his surroundings. He was breathing heavily and he shook his head in the darkness of Gwilikith. The mountain’s darkness was thick which seemed to give Cheshire a sense of safety. He looked to the left as his cat approached him, cocking its head to the side in question. Angrily Cheshire spoke, not to the cat but to the memories, “Damn you Yokura… you still haunt me after your pawn’s death…” The words trailed off and he sat there, perhaps waiting for someone… though at this point, all Cheshire was waiting on, was undisturbed sleep.

Kill. Kill them. Kill them all. You will obey. Your will is MINE!!!! Andin sat up breathing hard. He had never had a good nights sleep since he had.... Well that was a different story. He needed to get out. Out of this in. He always slept better outside. If better was a useable term. He got up out his bed and walked to the door. He went down to the bar and got a shot of wiskey. Then washed it down with water.Nasty stuff but it's the only thing that helps. He walked out and sat down by a nearby tree. He was a long last asleep. At first his sleep was peaceful. That changed in an instant. He was standing in the center of a burning village. There were bodies everywhere. Cuts and slashes all over them. He looked down. In his hands was a sword. A blood covered sword. "Noo!!"

He dropped the sword and ran. He saw a man with a staff next to him. He was on the ground with slashes on his body. He was in front of a door. The door was swinging on broken hinges. He walked inside the house then instantly wished he hadn't. There were dead children and babies in the room. He ran out. "NOOO!!!"

He woke up. He wasn't going back to sleep tonight. He walked toward the mountains. The were so big. For a moment he forgot his nightmares. He looked to his left. There was... a man?! He stared at him. Hopefully he was having a better night than him. But by the look of him he wasn't. He looked back to the mountains. He murmured "So big aren't they."

For the first time since he had came to Imythess, Cheshire was angry, and definitely not in the mood to mess around with anyone’s head. This nightmare was more than just a dream, it was a signification that Yokura was gaining some control somewhere and could cause some trouble. Cheshire was able to kill Yokura while he had possessed his pawn; however, he was a perfect candidate to be possessed by the demon itself. The cat that stood nearby seemed to sense the hostility in the air and sat on the ground awaiting anything that dared to enter into his angry owner’s territory.

And the one time that Cheshire would be angry; the first time that he didn’t want to meet someone; there came a man from the darkness. He seemed to have been running from something, or perhaps from nothing; not a lot of people ran from nothing however, Cheshire did not want to say that it never happened, because it did. The random comment that slipped from the man’s lips was obviously a slow and poor way to start a conversation, and to Cheshire’s surprise, it would work. He almost wanted to say yes, but he couldn’t force those words out of his mouth.

“I’ve seen things far bigger than these mountains.” Cheshire had not spoken by himself, without the aid of the cat in a while. His voice sounded different to him, for he was so used to hearing the deep and drawing voice of the cat when his own voice was more of a whisper. Cheshire smirked from behind the mask; this man could either help his sour mood or he could hurt it. The cat turned and spoke to the man, “You’ll have to excuse my master, he’s a bit shaken up. Pardon his rudeness if there is any.”

Cheshire’s own words that he had spoken long ago echoed in his mind, ‘How do you know that you're nightmares are more than just dreams... perhaps they are even part of reality? They struck so true and unknown to Cheshire, it struck true to both men in the darkness.

Andin - March 19, 2006 08:16 PM (GMT)
If there is any. Please. I just hope this is rude for him. But I do think he could be much worse. He looked a the talking cat. He was surprised at first but after looking at the cat he wasn't surprised it could. Bigger. What could be bigger than these? There was only one thing bigger than these that he knew of. The horror in his dreams. The pain he felt every time he slept. The sickness he felt every time he woke.

"I'm a bit shaken up too." He pulled out some bread and began to eat it. He needed a drink. The stuff was nasty but it helped more then any thing else. He began to walk back to the inn.

"Would you and your cat like to join me sir?"

Dark Cheshire - March 21, 2006 08:35 PM (GMT)
Cheshire’s mind seemed to be in multiple places at once, there would be several moments in which he would suddenly snap back into reality and shake his head, as if to wake himself up. He was still worried about the dream, and about where this could go; with these thoughts came the question if Yokura was still angry about what had happened back when Cheshire lived in Midgar. It would be bad if he was, and that if he was back then he would be hunting Cheshire down to either kill him, or even worse, control him. The thought of having two souls within Cheshire was enough to make him confused; he wasn’t exactly sure how that worked, he just knew that it did, and that it would become reality if he didn’t do something to stop it from taking place.

Cheshire heard the words come from this newcomer and he was a bit surprised; he wondered what this man could be startled about. Perhaps he was the same, in the fact that he was startled by a strange dream; but, Cheshire wouldn’t ask. Even if he did ask, Cheshire knew the man would lie, just like he would if he was asked the same question. Cheshire stared off into the distance, looking at the misty mountains as the question reached his ears and he perked up a bit. He looked at the cat who was staring back at him with a look of concern. It was odd how this cat had facial expressions and it was odd how Cheshire had learned all of them so quickly.

“Where would we be joining you too?” Cheshire asked in his whispery voice and then the cat added, “And what will we be doing?” It was a normal question and it was justifiable, for he had never seen this man, up until this point and with a smirk from behind the mask, he waited for a response.

"I'm going to go get a drink. I'm buying so whatever you want I'll get it." He reached into his cloak. He felt hundreds of coins in his pouch. He had just gotten paid for his last job. He thought back. He remembered that it was a butt-hole of a noble who no one liked. He was shocked he hadn't gotten the job sooner. He had no regrets. The man was getting ready to kill a person who had missed their payment. By one day. Bastard. Got what was coming to him. It was a odd though. After a assassination he almost never felt bad. But after his dreams he always felt terrible. Almost as if he had no choice in what he had done. Sometimes he wished he had someone or something with him, like the mans cat. But he was afraid as soon as he told them of his dreams they would abandon him. It was bad enough with out having friend, than to have a friend and then lose them.

He kept walking even though he didn't know if the man was going to come with him or not. If the man wanted to he would follow. This man was so much different than him. But Andin didn't know how wrong he was.
