The sound of screaming could be heard from a good distance away, and Rothardan was worried about it. It sounded lke little children screaming in fear... something was wrong. Running as fast as he could, Rothardan followed the directions of the screaming until he found a site which made him angry.
The screaming indeed came from children, children who were locked inside a metal cage with their unconcious parents. The cage sat upon a metal cart towed by two dark horses. Grabbing the Sunblade, Rothardan drew it and rushed forward... ready to help the poor kidnapped children.
Suddenly a dark shape came from the forests, something which made Rothardan drop and roll. When he came to his feet he was in a combat stance, ready to attack the dark figure that had just emerged. The dark figure was a tall muscular bearded man, with dark hair coming down to his shoulders. The figure wore black armour and wielded a cruel blade.
It was a Dark Knight, mortal enemies of the Paladin. Gripping his blade tightly, Rothardan got ready to attack. The Dark Knight did not draw his blade, instead he laughed and then shouted something in another language. Whatever he shouted, it worked... because 6 more bandits wielding blades came from the bushes and surrounded Rothardan.
The Dark Knight laughed again and went upon the cart before commanding the horses to run. The horses reared up before running as fast as they could, leaving Rothardan in the company of the six bandits.
Suddenly, one of them struck... trying to behead Rothardan. But Rothardan was too quick and ducked, before he swung his sword in the direction of the attacker's stomach. He felt his sword enter the flesh of the attacker and he heard a scream of pain before the sword was free again. But there were still more bandits there... and Rothardan could not hope to defeat them all...
