Title: Life Goes On.

The Past.
Countless days before the Siege.

She stared at the village from afar, atop the darkened and evil steed upon which she rode and she sighed lightly. She remembered her past; hell, how could she forget it? Perhaps it was not as bad as some people’s pasts, but at the height of power she was at now, looking back at herself and thinking of how low she used to be was not of the most comforting thing anyways. She would have given anything to go back and change her fortune—have her born to a noble family, not to one who resided in such a village, and had a daughter go shopping for them with little to no money.

How could she forget such embarrassing things? Perhaps they were not so embarrassing back then, but they were now. She remembered taking the walk from the house and into the market with a tattered, tanned, and dirt-stained dress that was worth less than the dirt was. She could imagine herself going up to one of the carts selling fruit, and paying all her gold for the rotten, fly-bitten fruit that was worth more than gold to her at the time. Now, it seemed disgusting to even think of such things that happened a few centuries ago.

She had been walking while thinking back, and she was now in the middle of the village, and she heard an ‘oomph!’ come from her right and she looked to see a child on the ground and she simply rolled her eyes. The girl reminded her too much of herself: so skinny and tanned, with tattered tan robes and long, tangled, dark hair. Dirt was on her face, but she seemed content with her life, not knowing life could get any better than it was for her and she almost felt pity, but soon enough she was walking again, and let herself sit on a fence she found on the border of a farm.

A Goddess? Yes, but none in this Village knew of such things. Only her true followers knew that she had come back—at the moment she simply looked like a breath-taking (what a lovely thing, the powers of a Goddess) noble who seemed down and lost, and seemed quite out of place in a place such as this. Nice black pants with a lovely blouse made of the softest material, with a coat of mail underneath, and many scabbards sticking out from each side of her hips. She took in a deep breath and placed her elbows upon her knees, squinting her eyes in the warm, summer heat, the sun across from her blinding her for a moment so that she was forced to squint.
