Title: A day of thought.
Description: Open to all.
Ethan Decisus - February 1, 2006 02:24 PM (GMT)
As Ethan walked up the hill to enter the Library he found an apple lying in a puff of grass. He bent down and retrieved the apple and walked on to the library satisfied with his treasure.
Before entering the library Decisus noticed a sign on the door "Closed". Deciding to enter the library was a thought he was not going to follow. Instead he sat down on a small wooden chair to rest and possibly see if the library would open in the meantime.
Before to long he felt a rumble in his stomic and decided to retrieve the apple from its resting place in his pocket to conquer the hunger. While he ate the apple the key holder of the town walked up to him and asked Decisus if he wished to enter the library. Of course Ethan said yes and the keyholder fiddled for the key to the library in his pockets. Once the key had been found the funny man opened the library and left Ethan to look around.
Once the man left Ethan. He felt alone as anyone could be in a dark area with his vision obscured by shelves and books. Ethan scrambled to find a lamp.
With a lamp in his possesion he carefully made his way to the fireplace in hopes of finding a ember struggeling for life. "Yes" he said to himself, he had found the back portion of the fireplace still aflame.
With the light of the lamp he searched for the tourches mounted on the walls to light. With the entire bottom floor luminated he searched for a book in the Archery section near the fireplace.
With a book in hand he dragged a cushond-wingback chair near the fire to read with the sounds of the dieing fire. He thought to himself I must replinish the log supply and heal the fire to its original gloriousness.
sekuda matsinua - February 1, 2006 04:44 PM (GMT)
Sekuda had been in Taras now for a few days. His stay in the town wasn't really meant to be, but after finding good company with some of the merchants and residents he decided to remain here a few more days before setting off. It wasn't that he didn't like large towns, personally he liked it better than small far off villages where he had to traveller farther to get food and water. It was just he rather be in Kellen, with the Great Stables. There he would be able to spend time with the horses. It was good to be in this larger town though, for the personalities he had met made a good impression on him to stay awhile longer, and now here he was on the footsteps of the library.
Sekuda's eyes glanced up at the archway of the library before slowly entering it with a held breath. The building was darker than he expected and supernaturally quiet. He did not like this one bit, but maybe he was just scared of something new. For he had never been in a library ever. He grew up in a town where libraries never existed, a nightmare to some but not for him. He managed to live on without reading. The outdoors took care of his adventuring and learning. It was too late to turn back now as he tried to always conquer his fears. He took a few more paces inside gazing around in wander. never had he seen so many books in his life. Sure he had never been to a library before but that didn't mean he had never seen any.
To Sekuda this was truly amazing and he had to go adventure around to keep his excitement down.So off he went trailing through the halls of books. Stopping now and then to take a look at some that caught his attention. His finger tips trailed along the spine of the books and almost skipped down the bookcases. This was a great moment for him but not his greatest. A few other great times in his life surpassed this.
Soon he had made his way to the back of the library and as he turned a corner he saw another man sitting down in a chair near a fireplace. He watched intently from behind a bookcase at the man before stepping out. "Hello there!" he said with a warm smile on his face. His eyes scanned over the man taking in his features and what he was doing, and of course it seemed he was reading a book, of what type Sekuda did not know.
Ethan Decisus - February 1, 2006 05:04 PM (GMT)
While reading his book Ethan heard the door open and close and footsteps. Ethan did not mind this in the least bit company was a powerful ally to a almost extinct race of elves.
With the sound of books being pulled off shelves then replace he felt the intention a small child had crept in to be mistchevious in the library. Though the footsteps grew closer and closer Ethan knew it could not be a child for the footsteps were to loud.
All of a suden the footsteps stop this was mysterious to Ethan for the being seemed to like walking fast pace and with the stop Ethan felt like he was being monitered being mysterious person.
A minute or two passed without any noise besides the fire itself. Then Ethan heard a "Hello" but more words followed he could not make them out but the sound of the voice frightend Ethan and in a moments notice he sorred to the ceiling and huvvered in mid air astonished at the being. With a impulse Ethan said "Hello you gave me quite a scare. Please come have a seat!"
sekuda matsinua - February 1, 2006 05:17 PM (GMT)
Sekuda jumped back in amazement. He had never seen a man fly before. This gave him quite a scare, leaving his speechless for a few moments after which he gathered his wits. "No no, that is alright " he said in a calm tone. His body that was now tensed calmed down slowly, yet will still on edge. For a flying humaniod was still unrealistic to him. His hands fell to his side and he gave a short smile to the man, but it was warm and sincere. His eyes danced around looking at the books still while he pondered about what he should say next. He never was able to start a conversation, and this was like most times.
"Oh!" he gave a large smile quickly reaching out and snatching a book from the nearby shelf. His eyes had wandered into the right place. The animal section. In his hand he held a chestnut brown book, on the front leather cover 'Horses' was printed in bright red ink letters. His hand slowly ran down the leather edging before grasping the side opening the book slowly. Sekuda's eyes ran across the pages trying to find key words about what this book had and was quite pleased. He had found the perfect book for him to read and sit down.
Sekuda's eyes slowly wandered back up to the ceiling to look at the flying man, with amazement still in his eyes. He gave another another smile, but it stayed unlike the other one he gave. "I guess I could sit down, now that I have found a book satisfying my own taste." he gave a casual shrug before walking over to a nearby chair and sat down, slowly making himself comfortable. "So what are you doing here?" he then asked, deciding to talk to the man before reading his book in peace.
Ethan Decisus - February 1, 2006 05:32 PM (GMT)
Ethan could see he had starteled the man and he was still amazed the man did not ready to attack him. Ethan's race was almost extinct and looking like a elf with wings could definetly be seen as a pricey item.
With a few short smiles, the man's eyes looking for a book he could start a conversation with. The man had asked Ethan a question and Ethan answered by fluttering back down to his chair and repplied, "I am Ethan Decisus a exiled Grand Guard of Tethelin. I stand to protect those who are helpless.......and I'm here trying to learn the stances of airborne archery. A hard subject to master. What might you be here for aswell? By the way I don't like being spooked."
sekuda matsinua - February 1, 2006 06:18 PM (GMT)
Sekuda's watched him closely has he slowly decended into the seat near him, his eyes never leaving their wings. They seemed nice to him, and his curiosity too the best of him. His hands wanted to touch them so badly but he held back and just nodded politely as he spoke up. When he was asked the same question, he answered quickly, "I've been in town for awhile and just was wandering what the library would be like here...that is all..." he stated in almost excited voice.
His hands fiddled with the book he held also wanting to read it. He had always enjoyed horses and wanted to learn everything about them. He already knew alot about them, but he always wanted to learn more and he was hoping that this book will help him further his love for horses. Slowly his hands opened the book, and he glanced down reading a few lines before looking back up at the winged man. Once more the urge to get up and touch them came to him but he was able to block the thought out of his mind by asking the man another question.
"Do you fly much?" he asked curiously. This was a stupid question, of course this man must fly alot. He has wings! Why would someone not fly with them. He felt stupid now, and slowly shrunk into his seat in a attempt to hid himself from the male. Standing at 6'11" this was close to impossible to do, and realized it instantly with shame. He quickly asked another question to hid his stupidity, "So, what kind of books do you like to read?" Yes that was a better question, he thought to himself while awaiting for the male to reply.
Ethan Decisus - February 1, 2006 06:49 PM (GMT)
Ethan looked at the large fellow and said, "I don't enjoy flying it makes people think I think I'm better then everyone else, and that is not true I am just a noble ranger who enjoys Archery and books on Archery."
Ethan notices the key holder from before with a crossbow aimed at Ethan from 12 feet behind the man who clearly loved horses. Ethan thought imedietly the keyholder was aiming for the colossle man, but unknown to Decisus the key holder was a Shadowdancer on a mission to assassinate Ethan and collect the bounty for a rare winged elf. In this situation Ethan was at a loss of ideas to escape because he interpreted the assassin was here for the Human. Ethan turned his eyes back to the man and said, "Are you a wanted criminal?"
sekuda matsinua - February 1, 2006 08:12 PM (GMT)
"A wanted criminal?" Sekuda was surprised at the question. He had never been accoused of being theif or criminal or any sort. He had always obeyed the law, infact he always help the law when he could taking down bandits and murdurers. Just awhile ago while he was walking through the roads of Taras he had cuaght a theif trying to pickpocket, Sekuda was no criminal. Even though this was a big deal to him though he replied in a casual tone, "No I am indeed no criminal!"
He shook his head, still surprised. He knew this man did not know of his good deeds, but he did not also know if he had done anything bad. Maby this man was bounty hunter of some sort? Trying to find people to bring in. Or he was guard of Taras. Whatever the reason he did not care any longer, calming himself down. He did not want to get into a fight with this man over something so little so he kept quiet and looked back down at his book, to start reading it again. The thought of being a criminal still haunted him. Sekuda had to know why this man asked him this so he asked, "Sir, why would you think I am a criminal?"
Ethan Decisus - February 1, 2006 08:30 PM (GMT)
Ethan answered him in a paniced tone, "Because there is a assassin with a crossbow in hand ready to put one threw your head; 12 feet behind you...."
The more Ethan thought about it, he determind that the assassin was here for Decisus instead of the horseman. With that thought Ethan sprang into the air, made ready his bow and arrow and fired three times on the assassin. killing him instantly.
Still in the air, Ethan noticed that the crossbow had fired in the midst of the comotion. Ethan immedeatly searched himself for a wound, but could not find one.
Ethan looked back at the giant and noticed that the bolt plunged into the mantle of the fireplace. Ethan noticed the giant's sleeve had been cut. Ethan rushed to his aid.
sekuda matsinua - February 1, 2006 08:51 PM (GMT)
Sekuda watched in amazement as the flying humanoid was able to loose three arrows that quickly. He looked behind him and watched at the assassin fell to the ground, dead. Blood was slowly building up around him and Sekuda looked away. Those were some good shots! Right on target. He stood up clapping. For some odd reason though he felt pain from his arm and he did not understand it. As he gazed down he saw the small wound cut into his right arm. It was not deep, it seemed that the bolt had just skimmed it. Lucky for him of course that this was only a minor wound.
His left hand reached over and placed it's self over the wound. Sekuda mumbled a few words slowly and his hand glowed white a few moments before going out. He raised his hand from his arm pleased to see that no mark remained. There was not even a scar left. It had been completely healed thanks to his spell. He gave a short nod to himself. Then a warm smile to the flyer. "Just a small spell I learned while I was young, nothing much really can't do much against a large wound.." he explained himself with a bow from his head before walking over to the fallen man. "You might want to hid him...." he said while gazing down at the body, "The guards don't like murderers and they will think you are one after they find this mess."
He shook his head grabbing the man under the arms and lifting him slowly. "Grab his feet we will hid him upstairs in the attic. They won't look for him there" he said while slowly dragging the man. He knew well enough that they would have to clean the blood after they brought the man upstairs.
Ethan Decisus - February 1, 2006 09:00 PM (GMT)
"Wow, nice heal." announced Ethan. "That was awesome" Ethan thought. "Your right we need to move the body as soon as possible. I know the guards would be furrios if the found the citties Key holder dead in the library." whispered Decisus.
"You need to leave I will carry him by myself and get him up to the attic faster by flying with out leaving a blood trail" said Ethan in a panicd tone. "I scence you want to help but this is my mess."
sekuda matsinua - February 1, 2006 09:07 PM (GMT)
Sekuda let go of the man's arms letting him fall to the ground with a thumb. Its now like he really cares anyways. Sekuda nodded then ran over to the fireplace. There were a few peices of cloth on it and Sekuda intended to use it clean the lbood that was already on the floor. "Go on and take him, I'll clean this up for you...I advise you leave after this though...." he said quickly. He quickly went over to the puddle of blood and began to wipe to away quickly. He did not feel like being the maid to this man, cleaning up his messes, but he knew it was the right thing to do and so he did it.
The blood was soon cleaned up and Sekuda arose fro mthe ground standing up striaght. He scanned the library quickly looking for a way to dispose of the bloodied clothes. Sekuda's eyes fell upon the fireplace. Perfect! he thought tossing them into it. The fires danced around, slowly consuming the blood untill it was fully gone. "Good...now get rid of that body!" he said spinning around to face Ethan.
Ethan Decisus - February 1, 2006 09:27 PM (GMT)
"Thank you dear friend" Ethan whispered.
Then as if it were a sign from above Ethan grabbed the body and darted up the stairs. Upon arrival on the top floor Ethan found the attic door. He openned the lach found a chest and stuffed the boddy in it. Shut the lid, Closed the attic door and rushed down stairs to find the man. Ethan said once again to the man, "Thank you dear fellow. Might I have your name?" He waited anctiously on a reply from the kindy giant who had saved him from certain misfortune.
sekuda matsinua - February 1, 2006 09:39 PM (GMT)
Sekud watched as the man flew upstairs. While he awaited he did a short walk around the library, never leaving the same area. When the man had returned he walked over to him with a bright smile on his. He knew he had done his good deed of the day, and that was enough for him. "My name?" he asked thinking it over. He did not know if he could trust this man. He had just killed another, of course it was becuase that assasin was trying to kill him.
In the end Sekuda gave up, his arm extended out in a handshake. "My name is Sekuda, what may be yours traveller?" he then asked in return. He was glad he had met someone new and hoped that when they went their different ways they would meet up once again.
Suddenly Sekuda pulled away. The sound of footsteps could be heard in the library and he feared a guard had come to check out the library. "Quickly hide!" he said while running to the end of the book shelves. "I am going to leave now...but don't worry we will meet up once again in the near future...." he turned to continue off but felt guilty of leaving the man here by himself though he knew he would not be able to do much. "Fly out through the attic...I know there is a window there!" he said with a smile to him before running off down the hallway to the door.
Ethan Decisus - February 1, 2006 10:01 PM (GMT)
With the man's hand out Ethan began to reach for his and began to say "Mine is E-" He was interupted by the sound of foot steps. Sekuda ran to the end of a bookcase. Then Ethan took to flight and landed on top of a bookshelf near by. Before flight Sekuda said something, Ethan didn't understand. Decisus interpreted as "Kill the intruder if he heads for the attic. Toss him out the window."
Ethan did not understand Sekuda's logic but Ethan wanted to make sure Sekuda made it out the library safe and sound. If this ment killing the intruder Ethan would do so. As Sekuda moved towards the entrace aswell did Ethan on top of the bookshelves.
Ethan Made it to the last shelf before Sekuda. Ethan noticed a small child standing at the front desk probebly wanting to return books. Ethan hoped Sekuda would take the books from the child and rush the boy out. RING RING. Was the next sound Ethan heard.
sekuda matsinua - February 1, 2006 10:26 PM (GMT)
Sekuda made it to the last bookshelf and turned to face the door to exit the building but he stopped seeing that the person who entered the library was just a child. He let out a sigh, thinking it was best to leave him alone as he doubted that the child would even venture up to the attic. It was also to late to return to Ethan who he thought had already left. He watched the child intently before he gave up looking for someone to help with his books and began to leave. Sekuda's sharp eyes were able to see the printed letters on the child's books.
It seemed that he also liked to read about hroses. Who knows maby he liked ot ride them too. A large smile grew on Sekuda's face bringing fond memories back as he watched the child leave. When he left Sekuda turned around. He decided it would be best to see if Ethan was still around and so he walked back along the hallway of books, unaware of a figure ontop of the bookshelves.
(Sorry short post, have to go)
Ethan Decisus - February 1, 2006 10:58 PM (GMT)
Ethan sat atop the shelf waiting on the child to leave when he noticed Sekuda return back to the fireplace. Ethan followed shortly once the child had left and Ethan had locked the door behind the boy. Ethan went to flight again and landed at the back of the library near the fireplace. "I am sorry" said Ethan as he saw Sekuda round the corner, "I thought you said "Kill the intruder if he headed from the attic and dump the body out the window." Is this what you actually said?" Ethan looked strangely at Sekuda, it was as if Sekuda was happy. Was he happy that a child interupted them?
Ethan senced a being in the library, faint, but certainly around. It was as if a ghost was in their midst. Ethan quickly casted Detect Undead. Ethan's hands began to glow a faint red and a aroura was about them. He turned to see a ghost where the assassin's body once layed. Ethan hoped Sekuda would be able to see what his spell had uncovered. Suddenly the ghost said, "YOU WILL DIE" then the ghost repeated himself, "YOU WILL DIE" Ethan armed himself with a book on archery and hurled it at the being. Ofcourse the book went right through the ghost's plamsa. Doing so this agitated the ghost greatly, Ethan once again hoped Sekuda would be able to see the being and he would cast a heal on it. "Maybe a spell of holliness like "HEAL" would vanquish the spirit to hell." Ethan thought to himself. Ethan made ready his bow and arrow and in a flash he shot two through the ghost. This time the ghost evaporated in a puff of red ash. Had the weapon that ended the assassin's life at first conquer his spirit? Ethan had no idea but wanted a explanation from Sekuda who Ethan hoped had seen the entire act.
sekuda matsinua - February 1, 2006 11:09 PM (GMT)
Sekuda had a strange look on his face as stared at Ethan. he had not heard or seen the ghost, only did he see Ethan talking to himself and shooting two arrows at the air along with a book. "Hey..." he said slowly taking a step back. "Are you okay?" he asked thinking this man was crazy. He didn't know what to do at first and thought about running away, which would be mean and wrong so he did not but slowly backed away just incase. "I think you should sit down and take a break.." he then suggested still taking a few steps back.
His right hand rested upon his long sword still unsure what to do. he did not intend on using the sword unless Ethan attacked him. He doubted the act would take place but you can never be sure. Sure Sekuda was one that usually took risks but this one was not one of those risks. His eyes stayed on Ethan awaiting for him to reply or start to act crazy again which was not what Sekuda wanted.
(This is my worst post ever...sorry writer's block)
Ethan Decisus - February 1, 2006 11:20 PM (GMT)
With beads of sweat running down his face he began to shak relentlessly. He drop his bow and collapse onto his left arm. He noticed a sharp pain in his arm and looked to find a small puddle of blood forming around his arm. Ethan noticed he had landed on a bolt it must have fallen out of the assassins quiver of bolts.
Ethan asked Sekuda to heal his wound, but Sekuda just stared at Ethan almost horrified of him. Ethan finally asked "Did you see the ghost near the resting place of assassin's body? Thats what I was throwing and shooting at."
Ethan yelled in pain and Sekuda was still dazed.
(My worst post yet urg, no ideas)
sekuda matsinua - February 1, 2006 11:50 PM (GMT)
Sekuda shook his head trying to get out of his confusion. He quickly ran over to Ethan and knelt beside him putting his hand over the wound. Slowly his hand started to grow brightly untill fasing away. His hand was slowly removed from the arm and to his surprise he wasn't able to heal all the wound, but enough to stop it from bleeding. "There!" he said with a smile.
He got up slowly dusting his pants off. "Well, I did not see any ghost but I will believe you.." he said slowly. Sure it was a lie, but not completely. He told himself to believe Ethan but insdie he still knew to watch for him. His hands fidgeted with his pant sides uncontrolablly as he awaited for a conversation to start, or for someone to enter the room or anything else for he did not know what to do at the moment.
Ethan Decisus - February 2, 2006 01:36 AM (GMT)
"Thank You" replied Ethan. Ethan slowly rose to his feet. "It was stupid of me to think you could see the Ghast, I have the ability through spell to make celestrial beings seeable but only those who cast Detect Undead can see it. You probably think I'm insane, but i was frightend horribly and i went into shock from the events.
"I need to get some rest, and let this wound heal further. I am going to rest in the back corner of the 2nd floor." Ethan said with a noticeable sign of tiredness. Before Sekuda could reply Ethan rose like a speeding arrow to the second floor.
Sekuda had yet another confused look on his face.
sekuda matsinua - February 2, 2006 02:33 AM (GMT)
Sekuda's eyes followed the flying man to the second floor before yawning. He too was tired from the day and decided to head home. "I'm going!" he ylled after Ethan. Hopefully he heard him but Sekuda didn't have time to amke sure, he quickly ran down the hallway of books. Another yawn escaped his mouth when he reached the door to go outside. As he opened it he could see the night sky, and stars shinning brightly outside.
It had been longer than he thought it was. Already he saw the guards walking through the street lighting candles as they went. When one passed by him he nearly froze afriad that somehow he would know Sekuda had helped commit a crime, but was releaved when he passed bywithout saying a word. Within moments Sekuda had already left the Library and was heading down the street, taking a glance back at the library.

Ethan Decisus - February 2, 2006 02:41 AM (GMT)
Ethan found a couch to lay on. He heared Sekuda say his goodbye right before heading to sleep.
Fades to black.
