Title: New in town...
Description: [[feel free to join]]
Griffin Longheart - January 27, 2006 09:44 PM (GMT)
Griffin strode into the warm pub. He had just arrived in the kingdom after his long journey and he was parched. His body was cloaked in a long black robe, and a hood covered the elven features of his face. All that could be seen was the shimmer of his dark red eyes and his pale skin. He walked up to a counter. At least he knew the language of these people. He thought relieved as he gazed about the bar. He shifted his cold glance back to the bartender. "A glass of water." He whispered in an icy voice as he realised he possesed little to no money and he didn't want to loose it on a drink.
Griffin Longheart - January 27, 2006 10:17 PM (GMT)
Griffin replied with a curt nod as the man handed him a rather large mug of water. He raised it to his lips and took a long sip. The water flooded down his throat, moisurizing the dryness and replenishing his energy. He sighed as he placed the mug gently on the table again and gazed out at the bar's inhabitants. The bar was fairly empty which suited his preference. He sighed again as thoughts of his previouse home flooded his head, some friendly, however most haunting.
Shain Volgornd - February 1, 2006 03:21 PM (GMT)
Shain Volgornd was but a dark figure stalking through the streats, looking for the Song of Elves tavern. Cloak wraped tightly around him, his cowl was pulled low over his white eyes, his eyes roved over the buildings on the side of the streat. Sweeping his Shoulder length black hair from his face, he spotted the tavern on the left. Walking toward it, he ignored any people in his way, shoving through the crowds surging against him. Reaching the door, Shain checked that his cowl was still low and walked inside. The warmth was a welcome alternative to the cold. looking around at the surpprisingly empty room. When ever Shain had visited before, it was ussualy fairly packed, if not bursting at the seams.
Looking toward where he normaly sat, he saw that the table where he normaly resided was already occupide by another in swathed in a dark atire. Shain smirked slightly beneath his hood. He was not going to give up his table just because someone had beat him to it. Motioning to a passing maid, he ordered an elven wine, red. He wasn't on a job so it couldn't hurt to order a favorite that he would normaly avoid. He didn't like to leave traces to where he struck. He motioned to the table where the other man was at, to point out where he would most likely be sitting. Slowly walking to the table, he eyed the current occupant. Dark and shifty looking. Like an assassin, like me, he thought. Shain grinned. That would be an intresting day when he met another who had the same job as him.
As Shain reached the table, he addressed the man sittin at it. "Exuse me, btu would you mind if i joined you?" He fingered one of his two daggers. The regular one. If this man caused him any trouble, Shain might have to teach someone a leason. It would be appriciated. Even though he was well set on gold, he had not had an "employer" for some time. He was a little out of practice. He waited for a reply in silence. Shain enjoyed silence. It made his job easier.
Griffin Longheart - February 2, 2006 02:35 AM (GMT)
Griffin sensed one approaching but he took no notice until the man spoke out to him. He glanced up at the man, a cold plain look emphasizing his sharp features. Griffin looked at him in amusement as he fingered to one of his two daggers. What a pleasant surprise. Griffin thought sarcasticaly as he merely glared at the man. Griffin's gaze fell back onto the table in front of him as he replied. "If I said no, would you take that answer anyway..." He replied, his voice cold and heartless, with a hint of boredem. It wasn't like he cared if the man sat there, as long as he wasn't looking for trouble. Griffin was weary after his journy and preffered not to fight, well tonight at least.
Shain Volgornd - February 2, 2006 03:16 PM (GMT)
Shain's eyebrows rose at the mans response. he would have to take a no. He already had a slight disliking of him now. If he could be steely, so could Shain. "I could do a couple of things" he said in icy tones. "One: I could strip your flesh from your bonse. Two: I just simply kill, drag you to an ally and leave you for the rats. no one would notice. Four: I could take it and leave. And five:I could take it all in stride and ignore you. What is your answer?" Shain readied his fighting knives, waiting for the man at the table to make the first move. He was hinestly in no mood for killing, but he wasn't going to take some streat thugs attitude. Shain was an assassin, not one to take advice from some little busy body that couldn't do a job right. He waited for a response.
Griffin Longheart - February 2, 2006 05:47 PM (GMT)
Interesting. Griffin thought as he glanced up at the man again. He made no move for his own blades as the man readied his knives. "Either one would do. What would you prefer?" He asked plainly, a cold smirk crossing his face as he stared up at the man. He was definately not going to put up with this man however he didn't want to fight either. By the looks of it the man seemed like an assasin, like himself, but they were nothing alike. The thoughts ran through Griffin's head as he looked coldly up at the man, awaiting his reply. All the while his hands remained on the table, away from his blades, holding his glass of water.
Shain Volgornd - February 3, 2006 01:51 AM (GMT)
Shain took one of the knives out of it's sheath. Picking underneath a nail with it he slid a chair back with his foot and sat down. "Hows that?" he asked. He might enjoy this man, even though he was slightly cocky. As the barmaid came over to set down his wine on front of him. Apperently she could sense the slight tension at the table. She had seen what had become of those who had attacked Shain before. Shain frowned slightly. She recognized him. That would have to be taken care of. Thinking futher back, he grinned slightly when he thought of all the times he had been here and caused trouble. Kona, Sava the dragon. He didn't have the best record.
Looking back to the man, he realized that the man had not made any motion toward a blade that Shain could see. That was an interesting tactic. Shain used it himself sometimes. He had to switch between different methods of intimidation from time to time, so that he was not recognizable to others around him. they all worked pretty well. Shain idley toyed with another dagger beneath his cloak. It had been a trophy from one of his "jobs". It was a dagger that could steel away e persons life, leaching it slowly. Only a nick with it was needed. he qwas slightly anctios to try it out. If the man across from him caused too much trouble, he might be the first victim.
Griffin Longheart - February 3, 2006 02:13 AM (GMT)
"Not the most interesting approach, but it will do." Griffin said with a slight smoirk as he raised the water to his lips, letting it rush down his throat, refreshing his senses. He glanced up at the man, his arrogant smirk seemed to vanish form his face and was instead replaced with an icy gaze locking in with the man's own. He searched this man through his features, his presence, and his eyes, for any information that could be used in case a fight did erupt. Griffin's ruthless father told him one could gain almost everything from a person merely through their eyes. It was one of the few things his tyrant of a dad did teach him that was useful.
"And you are?" He added, his eyebrows raised in question, a plain look of boredem still etched onto his sharp elven features.
Shain Volgornd - February 5, 2006 07:11 PM (GMT)
Shain looked eye to eye with this stranger. he wasn't going to back down an inche, not from this. This man was arrogant, and too much at that. Shain admired it to a certain degree, but this person carried it a bit too far. From what Shain could tell, this man hardly had much of a heart left, if any at that. What was in his pasty that mader him like this. Well, it wasn't Shain's buissness. Eyes narrowing at the question, he responded, "You may call me Shain. And your name is?" ths man could at least do the curtasy of a name trade. Shain didn't like thos who didn't have the manners to do that.
Calling a maid over to him, he informed her that he was staying the night. Paying her ten gold marks and two silver for one of their best rooms. He was getting two beds, both extreamly large. He wondered if that was a mistake. The inn was probably getting crowded no for an upcoming fair. he might have to start sharing with someone else. He could handle that. He turned to look at his table partner expectantly.
Amtyo IV - February 6, 2006 12:28 AM (GMT)
Amtyo walked into the inn. It was empty, except for two men sitting at a table. They didn't look too welcoming, but Amtyo liked company. He walked toward the bartender. "A glass of water, please." He had just traveled a lot, and he was too tired to have anything else.
After he got his water, he headed toward the table with the two men. "Hello, men!" he said. "Mind if I join you?"
Shain Volgornd - February 7, 2006 03:32 PM (GMT)
As Shain was waiting for a reaply, he heard another person come up behind him. At the chearful question to join them, Shain turned around and found a man waiting expctently. Shain grinned. "Have a seat, a drink, and give a name if you do please." he turned back to his other companion. that probably wouldn't go over too well. It was not realy his table, but he had gotten there first. Turning back to the newcomer he asked "Would you like a drink?" he asked. he wondered who he was. He was obviously stupid, or some sort of peace maker to come over to a table where sparks should be flying from the two occupants eyes. Oh well. Even though Shain was an assassin, he did enjoy company. As long as it didn't become a danger to himself. And others he cared for. That was something odd about him. he actualy was an assassin with friends. He supposed that that was a result of refusing to be a too much like the drow half he was. Shaking himself out of his thought, he began to wait for a reply rom either of the tables othe roccupants.
Griffin Longheart - February 8, 2006 03:15 AM (GMT)
"My name is Griffin." He replied with a slight bitterness in his tone as he observed another join their table. Griffin smirked at the newcomer and nodded a curt hello. This would be interesting. Was the only thought that ran through his head as his cold gaze shifted form one man to another.
Amtyo IV - February 10, 2006 05:23 AM (GMT)
"Hello," Amtyo replied. "I am Amtyo. I just arrived in town, and I'm looking for a few friends." He took a seat, and answered the man's second question. "No thanks, I've just traveled a lot, and I think I'm too tired to have anything but water right now." He smiled, and noticed a dagger in the man's pocket. He then decided to keep quiet and speak only when spoken to. Wonder what that dagger is for, he thought.
Shain Volgornd - February 14, 2006 01:49 AM (GMT)
"THank you griffin. And thakyou Amtyo." Shain Looked the newcomer up and down. he looked a bit wary of Shain, on edge the tiniest bit. Oh well, Shain could deal with that. Shain downed his wine that hee had been sipping on for a while now. "So why are you here Amtyo?" Shain Was going to ask Griffin in a minute. Shain waited for a response in silence.
(OOC: It's realy hard to respond to short posts. Could you make yous just a little longer please.)
Amtyo IV - February 18, 2006 05:39 AM (GMT)
Amtyo thought for a moment. If he told them what he was really here for, they could possibly be interested, and from the dagger in Shain's pocket, he could be strong. But instead, they might try to ruin his plan, and, once again, Shain could be strong. He pondered for a moment, weighing the odds, and finally decided to tell the truth, and if there was a problem, he was a fast runner. He could possibly outrun them both, if he had to.
"Well, I am searching for something. A few things, actually," Amtyo began. "I was given the quest from a friend of mine, to track down the items he lost. There are... a few unique items he lost." Amtyo stopped for a breath, and continued. "He said that they are all scattered around Taras, and they might be difficult to find. So, I was looking for a few helpers. The pay is good." Amtyo smiled. “Will you help?"
Griffin Longheart - February 18, 2006 04:39 PM (GMT)
Griffin cocked his eyebrows as his cold gaze followed this newcomers lips as he spoke. Hmmm, I'm in need of money, and perhapse I could gain something much more precious than any money or life out of this errand. He thought as his mind shifted about, pondering what this man could be searching for. He glanced at Shain to observe his reaction the this mans words. His red eyes capturing Shain's features as he stared intently at him.
Griffin let out a shrug before turning back to Amatyo. "And what items will we be searching for?" The words slipped of his tongue in a smooth tone. If he wanted the job, arrogance was going to get him nowhere.
Shain Volgornd - February 20, 2006 03:21 PM (GMT)
Shain listened as the man explained his mission in Taras. So he needed help to locate the certain items. Well, Shain didn't ussualy go for any other job than his ussual one of assassination, but the prospect of money tempted him. He responded just as soon as Griffin. "I'll help as well. What are they and where shall we be searching?" He hoped the pay would be well. He was not exactly low on gold, but he could used a little bit more. He took a sip of his wine again, then grimaced. It was gone. He forgot about finishing off a second ago. Shaking his head, he directed his attantion back to the other to men at the table.
Amtyo IV - February 22, 2006 04:23 AM (GMT)
Amtyo sighed with relief. If both of them would help, the job would be done a lot faster. Both of them could possibly help! Amtyo was too excited that he forgot a very important detail. "So, my friend said that he had lost a few items of significant value. He decribed them as... uhhh..."Amtyo paused, straining his mind for what his friend had said. "Oh yeah! Amulets!" Oh, no, now I look like an idiot, Amtyo thought. "Uh, so, he said they were amulets." he continued. "He is rich."
"So, there are amulets lost throughout Taras city. About ten, all pure gold. Once again, the pay is good." Amtyo finished. Oh, please accept... he pleaded silently.
Griffin Longheart - February 23, 2006 09:51 PM (GMT)
Griffin looked at this man in curiosity and glanced at Shain in accordance to his reply. Griffin's hands fell to his side, brushing over the hilt of his weapon. Just the feel of the blades comforted him. He felt naked, almost exposed without his blades at his sides. He shifted his attention back to Amatyo,[ his red eyes taking in every detail of this man.
Griffin listened intently to Amatyo's reply. Amulet's eh. Pure gold. And pay to top it off. This sounds too good to be true. Griffin thought as a slight smirk brushed over his pale features. It quickly vanished as griffin parted his lips to speak. "Is there anything special about these Amulet's?" The words drifted softly from his mouth as his cold gaze remained locked onto Amatyo.
