Frick walked down the spiral stairs to the lower chambers of the library. Here the ancient and old journals and books were kept. The light coming from the flame torches, hanging at the beginning of every row, barely lit the walkway, this was not one of the popular areas of the library. Everyone was interested in new novels and journals coming out, who wanted to read about ancient works of magic and legends.
He grabbed the torch and started down the long corridor. Each shelf was 25 ft high, not a space wasn't filled. He waved the torch to his left and right, scanning the barely recognizable lettering on the spine of each book.
Where is it? It has to be here. Blast, there are too many books for me to look through all of them, it would take me days maybe weeks.
He turned to walk back to the main corridor, the books seemed to be mocking him as he passed. Placing the torch back into its holster, he walked to the door. Looking back, he gave them a I'll be back look and continued up the spiraling stairs.
Amtyo spied on Frick through the bookcase. He was apparently looking for an old book. Well, great minds think alike, he thought. He was also looking for an ancient book. He couldn't remember the title, but he knew that the correct book was somewhere in here. Somewhere.
He searched for a few more minutes. After a while, he looked up and saw Frick leaving. I will too, in a minute... "Hey! Here it is!" Amtyo said, a little too loudly. Frick looked back at him. Seeing that Frick wanted the book, he quickly grabbed it. “I’m taking this!” Amtyo said.
As Frick was scaling the stairs, he saw someone in the back watching him. he dismissed it until he heard the man call out a little loudly for a library. Frick rushed to where the man was, little light was shining from the hall. Lumos, a light appeared above Frick's head lighting the lower level of the library. The man had a book in his hand, something that Frick was searching for.
"Hey, I need that."
A man in travel-stained clothing was sitting nearby. While flipping through a book on herbal remedies, he noticed that it got righter in the room. When he looked up he saw two mages arguing over a book. Wizards never learn manners!
He got up and walked over to the bickering pair. Surely we can work this out civilly?
