Title: The Bandits
Description: (A Small Stroll Part 3)
sekuda matsinua - January 21, 2006 06:08 PM (GMT)
Sekuda had been following the scrawny bandit for some time now and he was beginning to believe this was not the right way. Suddenly the bandit turned around to face him and extended his arm to point at the top of a small hill to the north. "Just over there and we'll be in the plains..." he said sadly turning around to continue. Sekuda apporached the hill, steadily walking up it ontill he was at the top. On the other side was the Debon Plains. In the distance he was able to make out a small shack, being no bigger than an Inn's room. He pushed the bandit forward, making him almost trip. "Quicken the pace" he ordered, now going into a quick jog. The bandit was hardly a runner, running his fastest even as Sekuda jogged. "Come on Kain!" he yelled back as he hurried forward.
He couldn't wait for the killing to start, and after that the money. This day couldn't get better, and once again he went off daydreaming about his new horse. Oh how he wanted it so badly. A slow smile crept across he his face as he continued to job forth towards the small shack.
Kain Dunarrow - January 21, 2006 06:19 PM (GMT)
The shack seemed a bit lonely out in the plains. Kain took the time to drink in his surroundings while running... oddly enough the plains smelled of wheat, strong wheat and there was a breeze that blew to the east and Kain remembered that it was still night. A chill that ran down his spine reminded him of the cold, goosebumps rose on his skin and he hurried over to the hut.
Kain shoved the bandit to the side and kicked at the door. The first kick just shook the door in it's frame and Kain caught himself before falling down. Kain growled and took another kick to the door and this time, it burst open, hanging off the edge on it's hinges. He looked back at Sekuda, "What do we do with this bandit here?"
sekuda matsinua - January 21, 2006 06:26 PM (GMT)
Sekuda atched as Kain fell to the ground at the first attempt to knock down the door and held back a small chuckle. "He has done wrong in his life.....killing him seems just" sekuda said pushing the bandit into the shack, he fell on the floor and began to crawl away to the other wall. "Please don't harm me! I never ment to join!" he pleaded with lies and Sekuda did not want to take much more of it. "You may choose though, if he should die or live...I do not care much.." Sekuda said while entering the shack.
His eyes scanned the one room, looking for a crate untill he spotted it at the back corner. He walked over to it looking it over a few times. His fingers ran across the top edges, before grasping the top and slid it off. He bent over looking into the crate, on the edge he saw a ladder which led down into the darkness below. The walls were made of stone, as spiders made their homes in the corners of the tunnel. He pulled away and looked back at Kain waiting for him to deal with the bandit as it seemed fit.
Kain Dunarrow - January 22, 2006 07:28 PM (GMT)
Kain smiled and held out his hand in the direction of the bandit. Kain watched as the bandit burst into harmless blue and green flames. He screamed and Kain smirked as he ran off towards Kellen. He wouldn't die, as soon as he was out of range, Kain's faerie fire would cease and the bandit would be fine. Kain turned back around and walked into the shack taking a look around. It was a rather shabby shack, not at all what he expected. Wet places on the floor from where something had been spilt. However, he wasn't here to inspect the shack, he was here to hunt down these bandits.
Kain took a look at the crate that Sekuda was next to. He looked down into it and saw the stone walls and the spiders along the walls. It smelled of thick dust, which made Kain spurt out a light cough and spat on the floor. It didn't seem very used, but it was about to get used. "You going first or do you want me to?"
sekuda matsinua - January 22, 2006 09:24 PM (GMT)
Sekuda took a second glance down the crate before nodding towards Kain. "I'll go, can't be too bad right?" he said with a short shrug. He pulled himself over the crate, lowering his feet onto the ladder built into the side. When he got his foot holding he began to decend slowly checking the space around him. His eyes slowly wandered down, not able to see through the thick curtain of darkness. His hands slipped a few times on the old ladder, but he managed to stay on.
Soon down below, he could make out the image of the floor, and some light, maby a candle. He quickened up his pace, jumping down the last four feet. He rubbed his eyes, which had gotten used to the darkness now. It was smelly down here, and rats were everywhere. He turned a few times checking out the room he was now in, which was as small as the shack above ground. To the right there was some crates piled up and on the left a wooden door. He grinned, knowing this turely had to be the bandits den. "Come on down!" he shouted up to Kain, "We're close now!" Suddenly the wooden door on the left opened revealing five bandits. maby he was alittle too loud. "Hurry! Bandits!" he yelled up, while he drew his sword. The bandits were armed only with small short swords and one with a long sword. He had a nice grin on his face while motioning his other members to attack Sekuda, who was outnumbered.
Kain Dunarrow - January 25, 2006 02:00 AM (GMT)
Kain waited as Sekuda slid down into the tunnel. He called up to Kain and Kain waited a moment; after the bandits were located, Kain hopped down behind Sekuda. There were a bunch of bandits, however only one of them looked menacing. The others were just play things that Kain and Sekuda could have their fun with. They made their way towards Sekuda, not really noticing that Kain was right behind him. Kain looked at the tunnel walls and smiled as he beat his hand on them. Sturdy enough for his fist, therefore sturdy enough for his foot. Kain ran up the wall, skidded to the side over Sekuda, and landed firmly behind the bandits in front of Sekuda. Kain swirved around, to see the bandits' backs.
"Die..." He muttered, pulling his sword out and slashing into the first bandit. After they noticed this little antic, some of the bandits turned on Kain and the others just went for Sekuda. These bandits were far from stealthy and not to mention that they were quite slow so Kain was able to dodge their strikes pretty well. He had fought many foes and had become acustomed to the fast fighting style he became used to. Kain quickly dispatched one bandit by tripping him and burrying his sword into the bandits chest, twisting then pulling it out. He flung blood on the floor, halfway cleaning his blade. Kain watched the other two stare.
Kain shoved the sword in it's sheath and pulled it out about an inch. He crouched, putting his left hand on the hilt of the blade. The Battiojutsu stance; powerful and swift. It was more than enough to kill these little tykes. Kain whispered, "Come..."
sekuda matsinua - January 25, 2006 09:54 PM (GMT)
Sekuda watched Kain taking care of some bandits and with a smile did the same. The first bandit had charged at his sword outstretched but to no avail. Sekuda simply parried the blade so that it was headed in another direction leaving the bandit open for his back slash which gave him a good hit across the chest. He fell to the floor and Sekuda raised his blade for the next bandit. He was no more graceful than the first, charging at Sekuda, His body open. Sekuda wanted to have fun with this one. He simply side-stepped to the right, leaving his left foot behind to trip the man.
Once he had hit the floor He made his way for the more stronger bandit. The man was much more intelligant than the others, instead of charging recklessly forward he waited for Sekuda. Sekuda just shook his head, his blade drove down into the ground, slaying the bandit that had tripped before than got into a fighting stance. This would distract the man while Kain would be able to easily cut him down for he was behind the man's unguarded back.
"Well you coming or not?" Sekuda said to Kain. His face was directed towards the bandit though and beleived it was for him. "I'm comming!" he announced in a low bellowey voice.
(Sorry it was a little rushed had to go)
Kain Dunarrow - January 29, 2006 02:15 AM (GMT)
At this point, there were only a few bandits left and Kain felt good about the battle. There wouldn’t be much more fighting; however, he wanted this battle to take a while, the bandits seemed way to easy to defeat. They were so weak, Kain wondered why the public authority hadn’t taken these losers out before. Kain smirked, leaving his sword slightly out, he turned towards a bandit. This one just as stupid, charging him, which would end in Kain’s blade slashing out and almost slicing the man in two. The “battiojutsu” technique went well, successful, the first time it had been in Imythess. Kain smiled at this.
Kain shook his blade, slashing down, so that blood splattered on the floor, cleaning his blade a bit. He wasn’t exactly the man to keep a dirty blade. However, a bloody blade was better than a clean one, it was proof that it had slain something, something worth Kain’s time. He smiled, these guys however were not much of a challenge at all.
Kain wanted this bandit to be as stupid and come at him, but it didn’t seem that he was going to be and that Kain was going to have to slay this one with a frontal assault… or not. Kain positioned himself so that he was behind the bandit and Sekuda was in front. Kain didn’t want the match to be unfair, however it was going to have to be that way. Simply because the bandit was taking to long to make a move. A non-leader bandit felt Kain’s blade hit him. Kain pushed him away and remained in his position, await either the bandit’s move or Sekuda’s
sekuda matsinua - January 29, 2006 01:21 PM (GMT)
Sekuda awaited for the bandit to make a move but it did not happen. It would have been hours for him to make his move so Sekuda took his. He rushed forward, only to plant his right foot down hard and lean to the side. His body spun around instantly, avoiding a quick slash for his head. After the maneuver was completed he was facing away from the bandit to his left side. A quick spin with his sword fixed that. That bandit had little time to react to the attack as he had already slashed but managed to bring his sword up to his chest to block the attack.
Sekuda smirked now facing the bandit, his blade locked with his. Out of the leader's surprise Sekuda fell to the ground, or it looked like he did. His foot went out and he gave a small spin tripping the bandit. While he was falling Sekuda was getting up preparing to finish him quickly which he did. His long sword stabbed into the man's chest as he hit the floor and blood escaped from his dying mouth. "That finishes that..." Sekuda announced pulling his blade out from the man's chest.
His eyes glanced around, while he cleaned his sword of the man's blood using the bandit's shirt. "I guess we keep going....hope it's not too far..." he said stretching his left arm. He walked forward a few paces passing Kain. His hand stretched out and opened the door. His hand immediately went to his nose, in an attempt to block out a foul smell. His looked around, figuring that this was a tunnel, of which he could not see far enough to see where it went. It was small only able to fit one man at a time. The walls were made of the same stone as everything else and the floor was filled with water.
From where he stood he could not tell how deep the water was, but a small dingy, fit for the tunnel was floating before the three stone steps into the dark water. His eyes strained, trying to see what was past the far darkness ahead but all he could make out was a turn about ten meters ahead. He turned around looking back at Kain with a look of confusion. "Well, what do you think?" he asked waiting for his opinion.
Kain Dunarrow - January 29, 2006 05:33 PM (GMT)
Kain made a sidelong glance at the dingy as half of it bobbed up and down in the water. The water was mirky and it was impossible to see very deep into the water; therefore, the depth was a mystery to Kain. He made an awkward face, he didn’t think it was very safe, but what choice did they have. They would have to go deeper into this place if they were to get all of the bandits. Perhaps they could just leave now and say they had killed all of them. That would work, up to the point where, the bandits come back for the owner of the bar. They would have to do this, there wasn’t much of a debate, but Kain kept silent for a bit longer, scraping his sandal on the shore of the water. It was muddy and yet his sandal scraped off it anyway, without sinking in. The mud was hard.
Kain looked at Sekuda and shrugged, “I don’t know, it looks like we don’t have much of a choice. If we don’t kill all the bandits, you won’t get your money, and therefore, no horse.” He glared at the dingy now, as if to pierce it with his sight. However, he didn’t and he allowed himself to walk over to the dingy and give it a light kick. He sheathed his sword and climbed in the dingy and turned back to Sekuda, “As ridiculous as this is, you should have a horse…” Kain waited for Sekuda to make his way over to the dingy. There was enough room for the both of them. “You can lead…”
sekuda matsinua - January 29, 2006 05:47 PM (GMT)
Sekuda's face had brightened up at the mention of horse and immeaditly followed Kain into the dingy sheathing his sword. Then with a chuckle he pushed off with long pole, that had been placed along the wall. "Lead to where Kain? There is only one way to go!" he said staring off into the distance. The water was perfectly still as they moved along. Not a ripple stirred, even from the dingy. Soon they were at the turn a took it, slowly as it was hard to fit the boat around.
Once again they were met my a long dark tunnel, except the walls were made of red sand bricks. No longer did the walls seem dark and scarred but bright. Sekuda's hand reached out running it against the wall. "It's red stone..where could they have gotten this?" he asked Kain knowing that the answer wouldn't be given. A splash was hear and Sekuda jolted around to face forward. Down ahead he could make out the edge of the water. Which ment land, but where did the splash come from?
His question was answered, a large man had shot a bolt from his crossbow, but missed terribly. "Get down Kain!" Sekuda yelled quickly falling flat as another bolt sped past overhead. His hand reached around till he found a small plank and chucked it forward. He knew he did not hit the man for another bolt went wizzing by. "What now?" he asked Kain trying to get as low as he could in the boat, which was still moving forward towards the man.
Kain Dunarrow - January 30, 2006 10:05 PM (GMT)
The bolt missed horribly and Kain chuckled to himself, but quickly obliged to Sekuda's request. He dropped, into the dingy, hopefully avoiding any more shots from the man and his crossbow. A few more shots were fired and Kain was getting annoyed. Kain could only think of one possible way out of this, without getting shot, seeing as neither of them were very good at ranged weaponry. Not to mention the fact that neither of them had any type of bow or anything. Magic was a good alternative. Kain rose up slightly, enough to see his target, he raised one hand. The hand began to glow a pale bluish-white.
Kain smirked as the bandit burst into pale blue flames. He cried out, believing that he was on fire. His mind made it look like he was on fire when in all actuallity, the fire was not burning him at all. However, the sight of the fire would cause him to drop his crossbow into the water. It would only be a matter of time before the bandit would realize that he was actually not on fire at all, that it was a trick that was being played on his mind.
“It's not real, he'll figure that out soon enough,” Kain whispered to Sekuda, as he sat up, “In the meantime, we need to hurry and get to shore, otherwise, we'll be screwed when he figures it out. He'll shower us with more arrows...which won't be good.”
sekuda matsinua - January 30, 2006 10:57 PM (GMT)
The yell's from the man brought Sekuda's attention and he jumped up. He couldn't believe his eyes. The man was dancing around yelling and screaming, which gave Sekuda a good laugh when Kain told him it was fake. Then with a quick motion he was pushing with the pole once more, quicker and with stronger pushes to get to the land fast so that they could reach the man before he would be able to use his low intelligence on the situation. Soon they were at the beach, and the man was still fighting the flames, too bad for him, his life was ended there.
Sekuda's hands dropped the pole and unsheathed his sword quickly, as he leaped forward onto the land. With a quick thrust the man fell. The blade had plunged deep within his chest, leaving him dying on the ground, a small pool of blood surrounding him and quickly growing. Sekuda flicked his wrist, splattering the blood across the ground and off his blade. After the threat was gone he took time to look around.
The tunnel was no longer thin, but grew out until five men could walk shoulder-to-shoulder. The walls were still made out of the same red sand bricks, and small torches were on the walls. The light illuminated the ground before them, but ahead the lights were gone, for the there were no more torches. Everything ahead of them was dark once again. Sekuda turned around to face Kain with a disappointed face. "I thought this would be it...." he said sadly turning once more to face the darkness. "You want to lead?" he asked while staring off into the unknown.
Kain Dunarrow - January 30, 2006 11:07 PM (GMT)
Kain watched Sekuda quickly dispatch the 'burning' bandit. As he fell dead and his blood was removed from Sekuda's blade, Kain took the time to look around. The walls were made out of red brick, which surprised Kain. They weren't exactly the most common building tools that were used, mostly just wood. It was a bit of a change however, the niter at the beginning of the tunnel had bothered Kain. Niter was some nasty stuff; a mixture of both dirt, dust, and spider nesting, enough to make any normal person cringe. It made Kain cringe, sneeze, cough, and other mess.
Kain turned his attention to Sekuda asked the question; Kain raised an eyebrow and took another long look down the tunnel. There were going to be more bandits down there, Kain was sure of it. More sure of that than he was that the bandit was dead, and the bandit was definantly dead. Kain made a simple response of, “Yeah,” and raised his hand in the air. The bandit's fake flames were extinguished; he made no movement however. Of course, he was dead.
Kain then began his walk down this wide tunnel that seemed a bit out of place in a bandit hideout. He tried to strike up a conversation as he started his walk, “So, why do you think they built such a big place?”
sekuda matsinua - January 30, 2006 11:16 PM (GMT)
Sekuda followed after Kain his sword still drawn, resting at his right side. His eyes strained to see ahead in the dim light, that was slowly getting dimmer from the lack of torches. The walls kept wide and did not get thinner which Sekuda liked, he wasn't the best with closed in spaces but he could deal with it if he had to. For his new horse he would do anything. Sekuda rubbed his eyes hard trying to get them used to the dark but it was no use. He couldn't make them do it any faster.
When the question popped up from Kain he had to think it over for awhile. What were these bandits planning with this big underground lair. How did they afford it, and how old is it. When he noticed that there were a few bones lying along the tunnel, and dead arms sticking out from the walls he shuddered, but it gave him an idea of what was happening here. "It looks like some type of barrial Catacomb.....the bandits must have found it and decided to keep it as they would have lots of room to put their loot in here" he said giving a small shrug. It was all that he was able to come up with at the time. "I see a light up ahead!" he then announced before quickening his pace, "Let's go!"
Kain Dunarrow - January 30, 2006 11:38 PM (GMT)
Kain listened for a reply as they walked deeper and deeper into the tunnel. He began to notice the lack of light; which annoyed him slightly. Kain winced at the word “catacomb,” he hated the thought of being in a tunnel, or in a slightly darker room with a bunch of dead bodies. He felt that putting people in a catacomb was a bit degrading to their souls and their memories. All people desereved their own graves, not a giant mausoleum where they were grouped together like dead animals...
Kain's eyes snapped towards the light when it appeared off into the distance. Sekuda called out to him, pointing out the light at the end of the tunnel. Kain smirked and chuckled to himself as he realized the humor in the thought. Kain hoped it was more bandits, now that he realized that they had dishonored this place, if it was a catacomb. Kain sped up a little bit, into a slight run, hoping to catch up with the light as it entered deeper into the tunnel. He made a backwards glance to see if Sekuda was still following. He knew that he was, but it was a saftey measure, it'd probably take the both of them to kill these bandits... or whatever else might be in here...
sekuda matsinua - January 30, 2006 11:53 PM (GMT)
Sekuda had caught up to Kain, now running along side him. The faster he got this done and over with, the faster he would get his new horse. He couldn't wait, and sped up quickly, until he suddenly stopped. His eyes were temporarily blinded from the sudden light of all the torches in the room. He had to rub them quickly, from switching from the dark to the light so suddenly. When his eye sight was returned he was face with a good ten men all standing around, not taking any notice to him, for now. They were all standing in a large room, with many crates, and well furnished chairs and tables. At the end of the room stood a throne, made of a well built chair and bags upon bags of gold.
In the throne stood a man larger and stronger than himself. He stood at 7'2, and had a large double edged axe in his right hand, and on his left for arm was a large metal shield. His hair was black and long, covering most of his face, except his eyes which were closed at the moment. He was well built, looking as if he weighed 254 pounds of pure muscle. He wore a thick leather tunic upon his chest and his pants were made of a dirty fabric Sekuda didn't dare to think of. A thin black beard was slowly growing on the man's face making him look all the stronger.
Sekuda took a step back slowly, trying to hid in the darkness, it was too late though. The man's eyes opened and he yelled out in anger. "Intruders!" he yelled in a low voice, as he stood up. He swung his axe around and leaped down from his throne. The floor shook from the weight of the man, and bits of dust fell from the ceiling. All the men of the room stood, drawing out random blades from their belts. Some had axes while others short swords and two had taken some rusted spears from the walls. They all slowly started to approach Sekuda except for their leader who remained behind to watch the fight.
Sekuda felt over-whelmed by the numbers of these men, his sword was held at his waist waiting for one of them to attack, or for him to attack. They all had their yellow teeth bared, slowly edging towards Sekuda, unaware of the other man that was still in the shadows behind Sekuda.
Kain Dunarrow - January 31, 2006 12:13 AM (GMT)
Kain continued to stay at a steady running pace, towards the light. He allowed Sekuda to enter the lit room first; Kain stayed back a little, hoping that Sekuda wouldn't notice. He hated to do it, but Kain had a gut feeling that told him that this room was a trap, the light, the tunnel, the whole ordeal. There was no way that the other bandits were this place's best, they were nothings. Kain wanted to fight someone of a higher stature than those wimps. And he hoped that here, in this room, they would fight someone worthy of bloodshed, one that was worthy enough to die by Kain's blade. It was a long time since this had happened, perhaps even as far back as when he and some other person dispacted a mirror being.
Kain waited for a moment, holding himself back in the shadows as Sekuda walked in the room, uninvited and, as it looked, alone. Kain smirked as the trap was sprung right before his eyes; Sekuda's enterance was noticed by several men, one of which was large, extremely large. He carried an battle axe, one with two sides. The other men weren't small-time either, they were disgusting men. However, they were tougher than the other bandits for sure. Kain eyed the bags of gold that were in the room, they seemed to be a rather wealthy band of bandits to say the least.
Kain's eyes swirved to the man in the throne as he yelled out the words, signialling the order to attack Sekuda. Kain looked down at his sheathed sword and began to think about his options. He looked back down the tunnel; there was a possibility that he could run away; he could run, like a coward and leave Sekuda behind. However, that thought was banished from his mind almost as instantly as it was put in. He glanced around as the men made their approach upon Sekuda. The room was large enough for Kain's fighting style. That of Champloo needed it's space, and Kain wouldn't have the room built any other way.
Kain closed his eyes, and to himself, counted to three. As three approached, he leaped from his hiding place, right in front of one of the men. He would slash upwards, however, unlike all the other times he had made a slash, this one was blocked by a quickly drawn sword. Kain looked at it in amazement; these men were insanely fast! He was able to draw his blade and block Kain's attack before Kain's eyes without him even seeing the event unfold. Kain pushed off the blade and backflipped, landing next to Sekuda, “This isn't going to be as easy as I planned, Sekuda..."
sekuda matsinua - January 31, 2006 12:32 AM (GMT)
A smile came to Sekuda's face as Kain came to his rescue once again, but his mouth dropped at the bandit which he had attacked managed to block Kain's own swipe. When Kain landed beside him he shook his head still in a trance. He was sure that Kain's quick reflexes would be able to finish off these bandits easily, but perhaps he was wrong. They seemed better than the other low lives. Stronger and faster and armed to the teeth. His sword went out for a slash at a bandit. It look as if it would hit but it was pushed away by another bandit with his spear.
This wasn't good these bandits were actually working together as a team. Sekuda noted their formation, it seemed rough at first but then he noticed they were paired up so they could work together. This made matters even worse for them, but he would have to try at least. He charged forward stabbing out at one of the groups. One of them parried the attack, while the other gave a quick swipe which was barely dodged by Sekuda, who backed away quickly retreating back to Kain.
When all seemed lost he heard a yell from behind them. His head sunk even lower thinking it was more bandits. How worse could this get. As he chanced a glance behind him he did not see no bandit but men that he saw at the bar. They all had small swords and pitch-forks. Leading them was the owner of the bar. When they arrived behind Sekuda they gave a smile to him, the owner of the bar bowing. "When you left we knew you two wouldn't have much of a chance defeating all the bandits so we gathered weapons and came here! We found out where this place was from a bandit that was yelling his head off running through the town on fire...took us awhile but we're here, twelve strong!" the man took many breaths during his small introduction. His face was red from running with his short stubby legs but a face of battle was upon him and he quickly charged forward with his men.
This was Sekuda's and Kain's chance to finish this. While the men from the bar took care of the lower bandits they would be able to get rid of the leader. "Let us go Kain and finish this quickly!" he yelled charging forward. His blade was held high as he ran and slashed down at the giant man's chest. The attack was block easily with his large shield, and a swipe with his axe was made at him to cleave him in two from head to toe. The axe only met air as Sekuda side stepped to the right, awaiting for Kain to help him with this beast of a man.
Kain Dunarrow - February 1, 2006 11:19 PM (GMT)
What was going on at this time, counldn't confuse Kain more. The more hopeless and fun, the battle became, the more people or the more interruptions came in. This was certainly going to complicate things... as powerful as these random people were, they were most likely no match for these high-strung bandits and therefore meant that Sekuda and Kain were going to have to save these people's butts alot. Unless of course they were talented with the blade and pitchfork... which Kain doubted. He sighed a little, but made it come out as a sigh of relief instead of a sigh of annoyance. He didn't want Sekuda to think that Kain was annoyed by these people who had so generously helped. Kain realized that this wasn't much of a sacrifice for the people as it was for Kain and Sekuda; Kain wasn't about to put his life on the line, even if it involved money... he wasn't as addicted to money as he was to alcohol. However, he would put his life on the line for a good fight, and he was hoping that the people might give him what fight he wanted, even if they were taking out some bandits at the same time.
Kain let out another slight sigh as the people from the bar, including the owner, rushed forward like madmen and started fighting with the lower bandits. How unfortunant they were, the surprise attacked caught them off gaurd. They probably weren't expecting an entire army of battered up drunk men to attack their underground base or whatever. Kain still had his sword out, he held it out to his left side, hesitating for a moment, to see if the man was at all talented with his axe, or if he was just as stupid as the other brutes they had taken care of earlier. Sekuda rushed forward and Kain winced as he knew what was about to unfold; the man would easily block Sekuda's direct attack. Kain believed that Sekuda would be smart enough to dodge the obvious blow that would follow this stroke. And of course, the events played out as Kain watched, Sekuda side stepped, dodging the large man's axe swing just as easily as the leader had block Sekuda's actions.
Kain was prepared and had watched how the leader ticked. He smirked as he put his fingers to the tip of his blade, only one hand was on the hilt. He rushed forward as the shield went up to block, Kain did what he did best, he feinted, making the man raise his shield. Kain smiled with triumphantly but then winced as the shield barreled straight into him. Kain fell back and quickly scrambled to his feet. The leader had suspected Kain's feint and had successfully blocked it. Even if the man hadn't have rushed forward, Kain wouldn't have been able to get any lethal shot in anyway. Kain stood as aching pain shot through him. It was Sekuda's turn to make a move...
sekuda matsinua - February 1, 2006 11:43 PM (GMT)
Sekuda watched as Kain charged the man, to be flown backwards. Sekuda had a grin upon his face as he swung around at the unguarded side of large man, or so it seemed. The man was watching Sekuda the whole time and moved his left arm over to block the attack he had done, the whole time not moving his body so he was still facing Kain. Sekuda's sword vibrated from the connection as he took a few paces back. This was not good. His eyes quickly glanced around him and he saw some bandits fall but not as bar men. This battle wouldn't turn out good unless Kain or Sekuda helped them, but with the giant attacking them it seemed hopeless, until Sekuda came up with a quickly plan.
He maneuvered himself around the giant so that he was in front of him. He glanced back at Kain with a smile before staring off the man. "Kain go help some of the drunks.....I'll hold him off till your done then we'll finish this quickly!" he yelled just ducking a swipe made from his head. He sprung up quickly with his sword. He was sure this attack would land on him, but it failed once more. The man took one long step backwards with a grin upon his own face. Sekuda tried to think of plan to take care of this giant bandit but nothing came to mind so he rushed forward hoping to hold him off while Kain helped the other men.
As he charged the man brought down his axe, and Sekuda barely dodged the attack. He managed to step left but slipped from the speed he was going at and was now vulnerable. "HAHAH YOU DEAD NOW!" the man roared lifting his axe and bringing it down again. The axe hit the dirt floor, bringing up dust. Sekuda had rolled out of the attack and was now getting up quickly, managing to block the man's axe with his sword. He was sent to the ground again landing on his back from the strength of the one attack. How strong could this man be?! He quickly arose again this time dodging the attack instead of blocking it. He decided to just dodge the man's attacks until Kain had helped the drunks.

Kain scowled and turned to reply with a sour answer to Sekuda's order but instead thought better of it. Sekuda would have fun with this man and risk his neck while Kain would have a little to no trouble with these loser bandits that posed as tough men. They were only fooling themselves if they thought that Kain feared them. Kain had little fears and a couple of bandits were not on his list of fears... well, to Kain, there wasn't even a list. Kain let his body relax for a moment, he needed a minutes rest. He felt the effects of fatigue as he realized that neither of them had quite had the sleep that one needs to fight all these people that surrounded them. Kain couldn't take long though, and he didn't because the drunkards needed someone to fight with them, and Kain was the perfect candidate.
Kain took the sudden attack from the large man as a chance to run away from engagement, only to run into a bandit who had thought he had snuck up on him. Kain smirked at him as his dagger slashed through air... he was slow and stupid like most of these bandits were going to be. A quick duck, and crouch would stop the dagger from cutting Kain's flesh; he did so and then brought his katana around and slashed through one of the man's legs. He cried out and fell to the ground; Kain shook his head and stood up. Kain finished off the man by a cut to his throat.
Kain had to do more than just kill one bandit, the more that died, there were more that seemed to take their place. Kain cursed to himself and swung out, as a bandit dodged his simple attack. Kain winced as he felt a dagger cut lightly into his back. He was surrounded by three of bandits and he growled at the one in front of him. Again, Kain wince and grunted in pain as one took another opportunity to cut him; Kain dropped and tripped the first, finishing with a stab at his face. He backflipped, pushing his feet into the chin of the bandit behind him, there was a sickening snap as the man's neck snapped. He fell over dead, along with the third bandit that had dropped his dagger in fear, only to find that Kain's blade had found a home in his heart. Kain twisted and pulled the blade out and turned around to watch Sekuda fight a little with the man...

Sekuda continued to dodge the man buying time until Kain finished off with the bandits. He too started to feel tired, and his dodges were slowly, some coming to close for comfort. He dodged another axe swipe by ducking down. Then he saw it the perfect moment to land a hit of his own. This blade stabbed out at the man's lower leg swiftly. A yelp was heard through-out the room. The blade a met flesh, a good two inches of the blade sticking into the man's leg, then with a quick motion Sekuda pulled it out and rolled to the right and got up dodging another attack. This would help slow the man's movements down hopefully and allow him to take a short break.
Sekuda did managed to take a break the giant shook his leg around then started to limp towards Sekuda who took lazy steps backwards until he found himself against a wall. How could I be so stupid! he thought, with his back against the brick wall. The gaint grinned seeing his prey caught like a rat. "I'LL FINISH YOU GOOD!" he roared, he brought his large arm back then thrusted out. The tip of the axe would have slain three man if it had collided with Sekuda but it did not. He was able to duck down and move out of the way to the left. He looked over at the man's axe now stuck in the wall where his chest once was.
Sekuda truly felt blessed that he had gotten away from the ferocious attack. It was too late to be thanking the gods now though for he still had to face the giant. He had no weapon with him now which was an advantage for Sekuda and he used it. A quick swipe of his own had to be blocked and a punch to Sekuda's face was dodged and hurt. The man's giant fist had been cut along the knuckles by Sekuda's sword and he had to pull it back so it could be nursed by his tounge.

Kain smiled as Sekuda barely evaded the man's ferocious attack. Kain was truly impressed and brought himself back to reality by bringing his blade down upon a nearby bandit who was stupid enough to try an overhead cleave...with a dagger. Kain shook his head, as he did he jumped to the side allowing a blade from a bandit to fall through and cut air. Kain scowled at this point and took time to observe his foe. This bandit was different from the others, his blade was a katana, not a dagger, and he wore robes. Kain's eyes widened at the sight of the man and he nearly dropped his sword. At the sight of Kain, the man seemed likewise surprised that he was here. Kain raised his blade and put his fingers on the tip. The man watched Kain and copied his every movement.
Kain kept his position the same and called to Sekuda, “I would help you, but I have to deal with this... samurai.” Kain shifted forward, close enough for him to be able to talk, without being within earshot of Sekuda, “You were supposed to die, not follow me here!” The samurai laughed at Kain but kept his position, “You think I can die?”
((OOC: Sry it's been so long... been doing other stuff...))
sekuda matsinua - February 8, 2006 11:39 AM (GMT)
Sekuda didn't have much strength left. Dodging all the blows was really starting to hand on him and his moves began to slow down to the point where he could just dodge the Bandit's attack. His own attacks were barely getting near the man as he was still not as tired as Sekuda. He was easily deflecting Sekuda's sword with his shield then sending a punch. Suddenly the man gave roar, bringing in a powerful punch from his side. He noticed how Sekuda was so tired, a thought this attack would finish it but it didn't. Sekuda let himself fall to his knees, the blow just passing his head and from the strength the man put into it e was spun around until he was no longer facing Sekuda.
This was it, Sekuda's chance to finish this off. He sent out a stab with his sword, using both his hands, at the unarmored back. The strike collided with it's flesh, slowly sinking in as a yell of pain exploded from the man. Sekuda continued to push the blade slowly deeper and deeper until the tip of the blade burst through from the other side. At that point he had to let go to tired to continue and fell back taking in air. The loud thump told him the battle with the large man was over, and a smile spread over his face.
He took in deep breaths quickly before pulling himself up. He knew this battle was not over and he had to help the villagers. Slowly he staggered over to the dead man's body and grabbed the hilt of his sword from his back and began to pull it out slowly. When the blade was fully emerged from the dead man he turned around slowly only to be knocked back onto the floor. There stood a bandit, his shadow casted over Sekuda's face. The other man's blade rose slowly to finished Sekuda off. Who just smiled. "You left something open.." Sekuda stated bringing his leg up hard. The bandit dropped his sword to the side, his hands going down to grab his groin before falling over writhing in pain. As fast as he could Sekuda got up with his sword raised, his eyes watching the man closely. "This is for any innocent you killed!" he yelled bringing the sword down upon him hard. A splatter was heard as the sword cut through his entire body. With a quick cleaning Sekuda limped off to help anyone else that was still alive.

Kain was completely focused on his new opponent, this was a personal battle that he didn't want anyone interfering with; and he was sure that the samurai that he was facing felt the same way. Kain knew this man more than most knew themselves, for they were friends at one point, but now they were standing here, blades pointed at each other, waiting for the other to make a move. Kain was talenting in killing foes with two to three blows at tops, but he knew that this man was not a normal fighter, and that it was going to take much more than that. They were both taught by the same master and even though Kain became the best student and left, he knew that this was not going to be an easy battle.
“Master Inuru sends you greetings, from this...” The man in front of him dropped his katana and drew a sword from beneath his outfit and drew it out. Kain's mouth slipped a bit but he kept his composure, “...yes, I have been inheirited with Marusame...” Kain closed his eyes and remembered that he was the one who was supposed to inheirit Marusame, then he left that land for Imythess. Kain felt anger burn within him, “So you had to kill him to get that blade, and you had to wait for me to leave before you could do it. Goroth, you're treachery will cost you more than you're life, but your honor as well.” Kain eye's flashed open and with renewed vigor, he rushed forward, thrusting his blade out.
Goroth would sidestep and slash with Marusame at Kain's back. It fell through air because Kain was already down on the ground with his foot at Goroth's leg. He cried out in surprise and fell to the ground, nearly dropping Marusame. Kain smirked as he continued the motion and brought himself back up to his feet. “I have learned more from Master Inuru than you could have possibly imagined, Goroth you fool...” Kain spat and waited for him to get up.
sekuda matsinua - February 10, 2006 12:25 AM (GMT)
Sekuda took deep breaths as he scanned the room looking for a fight help with, but his vision faded and he began to feel pain from his left. As he looked down he saw a puddle of blood forming around him. There just below the left knee was a large gash, and as he gazed at it he tried to remember where he got it from. It seemed that the giant bandit was faster than he looked. Sekuda did not even feel the gash. Maybe this was the reason for his tiredness. I better heal this quick he thought bending down. His left hand slowly placed itself upon the wound and it glowed for a short moment. As he pulled back he noticed that the wound did not heal incredibly. It only partially stopped the bleeding.
Quickly he got up looking around, knowing it would have to do for now. There across the room he saw a farming struggling from two bandits. Quickly Sekuda limped as fast as he could to the man's aid, sending a wide swipe at the bandit when he arrived. The attack had worked, the bandit now on the floor bleeding to death. The blood coming from a gash in his neck. "Run villager....help a friend..." Sekuda said quickly stepping between the man and the bandit. Sekuda's sword raised horizontally, blocking a vertical strike with ease. "Your death is today bandit.." was all Sekuda said before pushing his sword forward, with the bandit's still locked with it. The bandit pushed hard trying to make his sword closer to Sekuda. Then with a quick motion he stepped to the right allowing the bandit to run past from the force he was giving into the push. As Sekuda turned around he saw an opening.
The bandit fell to the ground without a sound. Blood coming from his back, and dripping from Sekuda's blade. With a flick of the sword the blood flew off leaving the steel blade to be by itself. Sekuda raised his gaze from the bandit slowly looking across the room. It would be over soon, the bandits were slowly being killed one by one. Unfortunately the villagers were also getting killed. This battle would not be won without casualties. One more look around the room and Sekuda was off to the next fight, where two villagers were getting cornered by three bandits.
Kain Dunarrow - February 11, 2006 04:05 PM (GMT)
Goroth took his time getting up, perhaps it was a way to make it look like he was wounded, or perhaps he was wounded, it didn't matter to Kain. Kain wanted Goroth dead and he was going to get his wish at any cost. Kain put his sword up and held it with his left hand, his right hand rested at the point of the blade. The same stabbing style as before, the one-hit kill stance in Kain's opinion; however, it probably wouldn't go like that. Goroth stood up and spat out blood and Kain raised an eyebrow, “Did I knock you down that hard?” Kain smirked as the words came out.
Goroth ran forward, obviously out of anger and that is why Kain looked surprised. Master Inuru taught them to never fight out of anger, it clouds judgement and the fight. Kain leanded back and thrust the blade deep into the chest of Goroth, deep enough to push through the other side. Kain felt a sharp pain as he realized that a cut had been made on his arm and it was pushing deeper as Goroth's life was ending. Kain twisted the blade and Goroth moaned in agony. Kain ripped the sword out and looked down upon Goroth as he lay there in his blood on the ground. “You killed her... And I killed you... I suppose that should make it even... I honestly expected more closure.” Kain spat on him and walked away as his breathing halted. He was tired and the battle was slowly ending; his sights were set on finding where Sekuda was.
