Somewhere deep within these endless amounts of sand there was a small radiant sphere which was the size of a man's fist. It was said that whomever touched the sphere would be transported to the elemental domain of water, where an endless supply of water would be. Once again, Julian felt the pangs of curiosity and adventure hit him and decided that he should find this portal and see for himself if the legends were true.
Julian had been travelling the deserts for a long time now and all there was to see was endless amounts of sand, with the occasional skeleton of a traveller who forgot to pack some water. Julian on the other hand, did not forget to pack water and carried around not one, not two but THREE waterskins which had enough water in for a week if he rationed it carefully.
Speaking of rationing, it was time for Julian to have a drink. Taking the first waterskin, he squeezed it and felt the cool water enter his mouth. It was as refreshing as taking a bath in the crystal cool waters of a waterfall. However, that was the last of that waterskin, so Julian threw it to one side and carried on walking.
After what seemed like an eternity of walking, Julian stopped and almost wondered if the gods were playing tricks on his eyes. He saw a large collection of skeletons, which had gathered over the years. Something lived in these deserts and Julian knew if he went too near those skeletons... that he would be eaten by whatever lived underneath the sand.
Julian wondered what he should do... he couldn't turn back now. Not a chance... he wouldn't allow himself to do it. Somehow, there had to be a way past this skeleton graveyard.
