Title: Hard Times... Good Sake

Kain Dunarrow - January 11, 2006 03:52 PM (GMT)
Kain walked into the Purple Lantern and looked around a bit before finally sitting down. The smell of alcohol was fresh in the air and the fragrance hit him like a ton of bricks. It had been a while since he had tasted a good Sake and he was looking forward to having some alcohol in him. Kain smirked and pulled up a barstool and sat down, glaring at the bartender as he walked up to Kain...

"What'll it be sir."

Kain responded quickly, "Sake... pronto." The bartender sighed and left Kain alone at the bar. Kain tapped his foot impatiently; the last time he had had alcohol was way back when he was in Kellen... with an elf, who was trying to stop him from getting in a fight with some tall guy. He had been thinking about that for a long time; who the heck was that guy and why was he so naive?

After a moment, the bartender came back and sat a clay cup on the wooden bar. Kain swept it up and drained the cup; He was taken aback, "My God! This tastes like crap! Why can't I get a good Sake anywhere...?"

He was frustrated because of the long day that had just taken place. The bartender silently walked away and Kain quickly called out to him, "Give me another one... and this time, get it right!" Not meaning to sound aggrivated however it probably came out that way.

Ethstar Solther - January 12, 2006 06:06 PM (GMT)
Wow. This was an interesting place. If he recalled, this was somewhat near the area where he had managed to nearly get himself lost within the reaches of extremely strange shadows. Recalling the adventure, his face turned slightly sour. That had been a boatload of fun. Standing at the edge of a nameless forest, he had stared into darkness that even his own angelic eyes could not peirce. For a moment, the thought had crossed his mind that perhaps he had lost some more of his powers then he had thought, but he had quickly discarded the idea. The night before, he had been able to see quite well in the shadows of the night. Only then, when he had stared into that particular forest, only then could he not see what was right in front of his eyes. It had unnerved him, but he had managed to get over the fear that the strange darkness had provided him with. Sighing to himself, he entered the tavern door, the building being the only one he could identify. In Taras, he had been introduced to a building similar, as well as a library. Those were about the only two human buildings he was familar with. Slightly embarrasing.

As the figure walked through the door, the people inside the tavern would not see Ethstar. Instead, they would see a medium-height man, standing at about 5,10. Green eyes would stare out from beneath strands of long blonde hair, calm and serious in nature. A cloak would cover the man from neck to boot, a hidden longsword under the obscuring veil. The man's looks were average, pot-marked skin and wild hair taking away from his looks. A few glances were given to him as he walked in the bar, then immediately he was discarded from thought. Just another normal drunk, coming to get his fix.

It was Ethstar though. But the powers he had gained in Taras were coming in handy. Quietly looking over the people in the tavern, he blinked as he saw a man he regonized. Or, at least, he thought it was a man he regonized. The back of that head over at the bar looked unsettlingly familar. Blinking, Ethstar wound back his memories, trying to remember where he had seen the person. Yet again, another blink was issued as it hit him. The wild swordsman, who he had first met in yet another bar. The one he had gotten in the fight with. Sighing to himself, Ethstar simply stood in the doorway, staring at Kain. This would make things much more complicated...

Kain Dunarrow - January 12, 2006 10:48 PM (GMT)
Kain sat at the bar with his hands crossed and his mind open. Someone had just fell out of their barstool and drunkards roared in laughter at the sight. Another had just walked in and Kain didn't take the time to look around, frankly, he didn't care who it was. Kain wouldn't have even turned if he had heard his name called by a familiar voice. He didn't care and the alcohol made it no better but, he forced himself to take another drink.

Finally after some time he turned around and saw a new man that he had not seen before. A bit shorter than Kain and blonde hair with green eyes. Kain looked deep into those eyes as they stared back at him. It was a deathstare and it seemed to take up an eternity of time. Quickly Kain turned back around and took another sip of his Sake. The bartender was in front on him now and Kain spoke out, "Who the heck is that?"

The bartender seemed starteled by the sudden comment. He looked around and saw the man that Kain indicated and shrugged, "Never seen him before..." He hesitated for a moment, "Is there anything else I can get you?"

Kain glanced back at the man, hunched his back and answered, "Yeah, you did a good job on this Sake, please bring me one like it." The bartender smiled at the compliment and walked away with the empty cup and Kain smirked. The Sake really wasn't that great, but he didn't want to make anybody feel as crappy as he felt at this point.

Kain's loud and obnoxious voice echoed above all the other drunkards as he called out to the man, "Come on in Stranger, if you have the time."

Ethstar Solther - January 13, 2006 05:54 PM (GMT)
Ethstar's spirits drained from his as Kain called out to him, looking directly into his eyes for a few seconds before the shout. Sighing to himself as people turned to regard him once again, he gave a short nod to Kain to hopefully shut him up, and started heading toward him. He tried his best to avoid all of the drunk humans surrounding him, but it was hard at times. About halfway across the tavern, a random mug came out of nowhere, only a quick duck saving him from getting clipped on the head. Sighing and giving a hopeless glance around to try and find the source of the throw, he picked up his pace and basically trotted over to Kain. Muttering a soft curse under his breath, he managed to keep a calmed face as he sat in the stool next to the man. Turning his face so he was looking down at the table-top, he spoke a few soft words. "Well met... stranger." He didn't look toward Kain at all, but seemed just to act like a meek man who was easily scared, or easily un-nerved. As if he wanted to huddle up in a corner and disappear from all eyes. He somewhat wanted to, yes. But that would certianly draw all the more attention to his shifted form.

"What'll it be, sir?" Blinking, Ethstar looked up to glance into the eyes of an impatient bartender. For a moment, Ethstar just sat there, staring at the man. In a few seconds however, he snapped to attention, prompted by a growing look of anger and impatient on the bartender's face. "I.. eh..." He blinked and tried to recall what he had ordered on his last trip to a tavern such as this. Ah yes. "I will have water. And bread." This statement was recieved with a suprised look from the bartender. Not many people came into a bar looking for water, and if they did, they certianly wouldn't come to this particular bar. Casting a look over Ethstar's shoulder, the bartender stared at the other drunks in the room, then pulled his gaze to Kain, then finally to Ethstar. The Fallen angel smiled and cast his gaze back down to the table-top, trying not to curse. He had bungled up again it seemed. The bartender spent a few more seconds trying to comprehend the idea of mere water, then gave Ethstar a short nod. "Whatever you say, sir." Giving Kain and the other drunkards one last glance, the man trotted off to the back, hopefully to fill Ethstar's order.

Sighing slightly, Ethstar kept his gaze cast downwards, but decided to try and strike up some minor form of conversation. Hopefully he could do it without bungling up for the millionth time. "So, what brings you here?"

Kain Dunarrow - January 13, 2006 09:25 PM (GMT)
Kain raised an eyebrow at the man as he ordered bread and water and inquired as to why Kain was here. Kain smirked and said, "Um, well, I was here to get good Sake. I've had a rather rough day and ale just wouldn't cut it anyway." He made a sideway glance over to the drunkards as they suddenly grew quiet. Kain turned around fully and scanned over them all, "Certainly a quiet crowd."

Kain followed their eyes to the door where a new man had entered; one that was taller than even Kain. Kain was startled the man, scars ran down the half of his face that wasn't concealed by his hat in which the brim covered the top half of his face. His hair was a greasy blonde and one of his eyes was only a solid black pupil.

Kain stopped staring at the man in his trenchcoat and looked at the other stranger, "Shady company wouldn't you say?" Kain sipped on his fresh Sake and added, "No telling who'll walk through there next..."

Ethstar Solther - January 14, 2006 12:43 AM (GMT)
Ethstar glanced over his shoulder, blinking as the sight of the man met his eyes. Even is his original form, the man would have been taller then him. That was an extremely rare occurance on this plane. Scanning the man's features, Ethstar found no sight of the heavenly beauty that accompanied most angels, so he was assuming the man was not a Celestial. Perhaps another form of elf that Ethstar was not aware of? That was really the only two races he knew right now, besides his own. Actually, make that three. Recalling all of his former studies in the Celestial plane, he was able to add another race to the list. He knew of Humans, Elves, and Demons. Perhaps the man was a demon? He wasn't so sure, for he couldn't recall any of the books that had stated what an actual demon was supposed to look like. Which made the information on the beings pretty useless, for the moment at least. The man didn't seem to notice Ethstar's gaze at the moment, so Ethstar kept on studying him. Sliding his eyes down, he tried to get a good look under the hat, but was only able to make out a few strands of blonde hair, and the one interesting eye. He didn't really think much of it though, and went on to examine the trenchcoat, as if he would be able to see through the veiling material. After a few more moments of this hopeless examination to try and determine what the man was, Ethstar gave up and turned his gaze back to the bar. Speaking under his breath so only Kain would here, he answered the former question the man had posed for him. "Shady? He certianly is tall, if that is what you mean."

The bartender came up right after Ethstar was finished speaking, a glass of clear water in his dirty hand. Sliding it in front of Ethstar, he gave a quick and forced smile. "On the house. May I help you with anything else?" Ethstar glanced down at the water, then back up towards the man's face. "No thank you, sir." With a nod and something resembling a short bow, the man scurried away to attend to his other customers. Picking up the clear glass of liquid, Ethstar examined it for a few more seconds before deciding to take a sip. The water was pretty fresh it seemed, and refreshing. After the initial sip, he put the glass gently down, and turned to regard the man once more.

Kain Dunarrow - January 14, 2006 01:08 AM (GMT)
Kain shook his head and went back to his Sake... before looking back at the newcomer and then to the bartender, "On the house? Or is that just for him...?" The bartender sighed before finally answering, "Fine, what'll it be?" Kain smirked, "Just give me some bread, I'm starved..." The bartender nodded and walked away.

Kain turned back to the man next to him and saw that he had barely had any water and hadn't touched the bread. Kain's eyes grew suspicious of this newcomer, but he ignored the thoughts and went back to his drink... again. Finally he gave in... the man in the trenchcoat had made him uneasy, "So what do you think he is? Human or is he a demon?"

Kain's question would help find out more about this character. He wasn't sure what was going on... strange things had happened recently and Kain had a feeling that stranger things were gonna happen.

Ethstar Solther - January 14, 2006 06:21 PM (GMT)
Ethstar made an attempt at being humorous, turning to Kain and flashing a brief smile. As much as his last encounter with the man had gone wrong, he tried not to harbor many bad feelings toward men for very long. His face turning sour for a moment, he recalled that he had already broken that rule. He didn't just have bad feelings toward the Celestial's... He HATED the Celestial's, with every part of his being. Fighting to get the smile back in place, he made his attempt. "You know... he DID give me water... don't you think it would be free, providing that it falls from the sky?" The tone was slightly teasing, not arrogant or haughty. Not even waiting for a reply, he took ahold of his glass of water, and brought it up to his lips for another go. He was wary of this sake, and all of the beer. It seemed to make men do things that weren't respectable or polite, and it made them lose control of themselves. Or at least, these men certianly LOOKED like they had lost all control of themselves. Giving a slight sigh, he swallowed the pool of water that had gathered on his tongue, and set down the glass again. Hearing Kain's question, he blinked, a slight bit of surpise crossing his face. And how did the human know of demons? They were rarely seen anywhere fall from the Hells. Or did they? Blast it, he couldn't remember his books!

Turning his gaze to regard the man again, he shrugged and spoke, keeping his voice low. "I don't know. What do demons look like? Like him?" He studied the man a bit more before pulling his gaze away, trying not to goggle like everyone else was. Why did all of the people in the bar stare so obviously? It reminded him of when he was in Taras, and all of those women had stared openly at him. This form would certianly change all of that. Hardly any girls stared or giggled while he was like this, or even gave him a second glance for that matter. Men also basically ignored him, so the disguise was to be considered a complete success. It hurt like fire when he transformed into the man, and then transformed back into his normal self... but he was going to have to deal with the pains.

Muttering to himself, he took another sip of the water, now intrigued with watching the bartender. He was perhaps the only one that hadn't given the newcomer a second glance. Perhaps the man was used to seeing strange people in his unique line of work. For a second, Ethstar wondered if the man himself ever got drunk like the customers, since he was surrounded by so much of the liquid.

Kain Dunarrow - January 15, 2006 02:23 AM (GMT)
Kain glared at the newcomer as the comment flowed from his lips and disappeared in the air and Kain absorbed the words. Kain felt like his pride was being challenged by this sudden outburst, but he decided to bluff it off as well as seem arrogant, "Hey, hey, hey, if you could've gotten it from the sky, why didn't you get it from there?" Kain's expression changed back to normal and he added, "You shouldn't be the only one aroudn here that gets treated specially... and as for demons... if you don't know about them, then it's probably a good thing you don't."

Another person came in and Kain turned around and started, "Now wha- oh crap!" In the doorway stood a solid silver figure in which had no face and no distinguishing features just made of solid silver. There were no creases of where armor would go and it seemed that the silver was the creatures actual skin. Other than this, it looked like a normal human being; body shape, body size.

Kain threw money down on the table and yelled to the newcomer, "If you've got a weapon, now's the time to draw it. Don't know who you are or where you came from but it's gonna take more than me to kill this creature. Listen, back outside of town there were four or five of these little monsters conversing in some wierd language that I've never heard of. They spied me and must've followed me here."

The creature drew two short daggers from it's sheaths and Kain drew his Katana, "This reeks of the Hells..."

Ethstar Solther - January 15, 2006 08:23 PM (GMT)
Retorting back, he answered Kain's question. "If you want to stand out in the rain with your mouth open, be my guest." Growling out the reply, he turned his attention back to his water after speaking. Kain had did it once again, like he always did. Getting under Ethstar's skin, acting with that arrogance of his. Was he this way only around Ethstar, or did he do it to other people as well. Although, Ethstar WAS disguised. So he actually did do it around other people. Hopefully not women though, he would probably get slapped or such.

Ethstar gave a short blink, then turned his head to regard the newcomer as Kain leaped up, pulling his weapon. "You want me to fight the faceless..." Ethstar blinked again. Wait a minute. This was the first kind of creature Ethstar had seen without a actually nose, mouth, and eyes. How did the creature breathe? Perhaps it was some kind of strange enchantment, made to hide his face from any who tried to identify him. He supposed that would come quite in handy for an assassin, perhaps. Sighing to himself, Ethstar took another calm sip of his drink, loosly holding the handle of the mug to keep it at his lips. Calmly spinning around on his stool to face the new creature, he took another sip before completing his old sentence. "...thing?" He blinked and kept on holding the mug, bringing up to his lips in another few moments to take a large gulp this time. He kept his eyes on both Kain and the newcomer, slowly thinking while taking his time with the gulp. Kain was one who seemed to overreact alot, so this may just be a personal thing that Ethstar shouldn't get mixed up in. Although, Kain did look fairly worried about the monster. Letting loose another sigh, he made a descion. Simply wait here until something was done to make him defend hisself. So far, the faceless monster was doing nothing to threaten either of them. Perhaps he was simply in here for a drink. Although, the thing didn't have a mouth to actually drink with. In here for a rest then. Perhaps.

So there he sat, watching the intruder with calm, polite eyes. Not really responding to Kain's order to draw his weapon. He would have grabbed the hilt of his hidden blade with his hand, just for safety... but right now, the mug was taking up that specific hand, the right. And of course, the blade was on his left hip. It would be a little hard to draw the blade like this. If anything, he could toss down the mug and go for the blade, if anything got nasty.

Kain Dunarrow - January 15, 2006 09:12 PM (GMT)
Kain stared dumbfounded at the man next to him, "Are you trying to get killed?" He leaped forward as he spoke and brought the sword around towards the creatures neck. The creature didn't block, and Kain's katana hit it's silver body with a clang. Kain muttered a curse under his breath and kicked the creature out of the tavern.

He looked around, there wasn't much room to fight in here but as the creature leaped back into the bar, Kain was forced to parry several blows while avoiding tripping over a table. Kain looked at the table and continued to parry blows. He swirled around the table and lifted it up, using it as a shield. Kain sheathed his sword, used both hands to push the table on top of the creature pinning it down.

Kain drew his sword and leaped back to the bar. He sat down, with a triumphant look on his face. Immediantly it was smacked off as the creature kicked the table and screamed some sort of battle cry that sounded something like "Slith."

Kain looked at the blonde haired man and smiled and quoted his favorite poem:

Some days, some nights
Some live, some die
In the way of the samurai;
Some fight, some bleed
Sun up, sun down
The sons of a battlecry

The creature raised his dagger and leaped at the blonde haired man assuming that he was Kain's ally...

Ethstar Solther - January 15, 2006 09:24 PM (GMT)
As the dagger came down, Ethstar's right hand came slashing in toward the left, holding the mug firm in it's grasp. It would appear as a blur, perhaps not seeable at all... seeing the the hand was indeed faster then the eye. The mugh would smash directly into the side of the creature's dagger, sending it out of his grasp and spinning to the left. Bringing his fist back around, he would now snap it forward and back to the right in a broad sweep, catching the creature across the cheek with both fist and mug. With a display of unhuman strength, the blow would send the creature flying to the side and into a table, while the mug would shatter into a couple of hundred pieces. Ethstar himself would slowly rise from the stool, eyes staring at the creature with unblinking ferocity. They would have changed, pupils as thin as pinpricks, color thinned to a small line around the black dot. They seemed to radiate intense danger, and some unspoken promise of death. With slow and steady grace, he would reach his right hand deep within his cloak, and draw his longsword out into the open. Letting the tip fall so it was touching the ground, he turned his gaze to Kain, his mouth curving into a somewhat creepy smile. His hand was wrapped loosely around the hilt, yet his arm was ready to snap up in a vicious slash or block. His voice came out, low and dangerous.

"Some live...? I will kill them too..."

Right after this sentence was spoken, the creature would make his way to his feet, glassy face directed dead at Ethstar. The Fallen Angel's eyes would slide from Kain to the creature, looking unconcerned. "Oh. You can take a blow." He would turn from Kain and put his body so it was facing the creature, feet spread slightly and knees crouched for balance. His mind was flying with ideas, even though his face looked fairly smooth and calm. It had taken a dagger to the neck, and a punch with about all of Ethstar's strength put behind it. What could they do? None of Ethstar's magic was able to take out enemies, it wasn't offensive spells.

Meanwhile, drunkards were simply crowding up agaisnt the walls, trying to get away from the flying tables and blows. They stared at the three fighters with a look on incrediment, their drunken minds not yet feeling fear, just amazement and suprise at the sudden outbreak of a fight. The one with the slouch hat was up agaisnt the wall as well, but seemed a little more calm then the rest. Ethstar's eyes lingered on that one for a few more moments before turning to the creature again, slowly trying to form a plan.

Kain Dunarrow - January 16, 2006 01:54 AM (GMT)
Kain slid out from the bar as this newcomer made his assault. He was surprised at the sudden aggresiveness in this man, but it intrigued Kain. As Kain hopped over the man and attacked the creature. It blocked with one dagger and pushed Kain off but was unexpectantly hit with Kain's foot in it's face. It growled and hissed in pain as it scrambled back and before it could make a second attack, a Longsword cracked it across the face and there was a sickening "pop" as it's neck snapped.

Kain followed the blade with his eyes and it was the man in the trenchcoat. He glared at Kain and spoke, "More will come, we must go..." Kain shook his head, "Too late..."

Three new creatures drew thier daggers and leaped forward, two at the newcomer and one at the man in the trenchcoat. Kain watched in awe at the "trench man" fight the creature with increadible speed.

Kain grabbed a chair and slammed it into one of the newcomer's creatures and watched the other make a thrust at the newcomer.

Ethstar Solther - January 16, 2006 04:16 PM (GMT)
Ethstar watched the fight with something resembling a morbid amusement apon his face. It was rather interesting, how fast he had changed, how quickly he was now fighting. He simply waited and watched, keeping his eyes on the creature. Stepping forward as the risen one leapt to meet Kain in battle, he prepared to strike a blow of his own while the creature was preoccupied. Almost ready to leap forward with a cleaving type motion, he raised the longsword over his head, and prepared himself. And let loose a blink of silent suprise as the trenchcoated one took out the creature in a matter of moments. He nearly let down his blade at this, and then Kain decided to inform the two that there were a couple more of them. Not really surprised at this bit of information, Ethstar twisted his head to the side to regard the newcomers. His right side was facing the door, which was a good position for such things. It made him a smaller target, if anything. Two leaped at him, and he prepared to dodge away from any blows. He could probably strike fast enough and with enough skill to take out one, but he would rather not reveal his unhuman powers, and he wasn't so sure how skilled these things were. Better to dodge around and see how they fought then to take a risky chance and get stabbed through. His mind made a quick scan of his surrounding area, eyes darting about as the creatures got ready. A table was dead in front of him, and his right side was being attacked. He could dodge to the left, or backwards. He did not like having limited options.

The one of the right attacked first, sliding into a stab move. The left one came as well, not really going into any type of form, just leaping at him with an annoying form that was completely unreadable. Ethstar couldn't use facial expressions or positioning of the eyes to read their next move, providing that they didn't HAVE any of those things. Then, out of nowhere, a chair came flying to smash into the left one, sending him reeling. The stabbing blade wavered, the owner turning his glassy face in the direction of his hit comrade, seemingly concerned. The blade remained only a few inches from Ethstar's side, a wicked tip gleaming at him. Yet he didn't wait for it to cross the remaining distance. With a step forward, he went into a spin, moving in extremely close. The spin brought his body around so it was now his left side facing the creature, and the movement in had his back pressed agaisnt the creature's straightened arm. That arm was basically useless, for he would have to pull back away from Ethstar to be able to get in a good attack. He could attack from his position in a stab or weak slash however, by pulling his arm back. Ethstar realized this, and didn't wait.

His left hand snapped out, and wrapped around what Ethstar was guessing was the creature's neck. No reflexive action was taken on the creature's part, but Ethstar suddenly felt the press of the creature's arm leaving his back. The thing was going to stab him if he didn't hurry. With a roar and a burst of strength, he lifted the creature up and off the ground. The creature was lighter then most humans, which was somewhat strange. He wasn't COMPLETELY made out of glass. With a single motion, the creature was lifted off his feet by a hold on his neck, then slammed directly at his reeling comrade. With a painful sounding thud, both tumbled to the floor, a loud crack issuing from the wooden floor.

Jumping back, Ethstar let loose a heavy breath. That had still taken alot of his muscle, which most may have come from adreneline. He shook his left arm a bit, trying to revive the tired muscles. Pulling up his longsword in his right hand, he readied himself for the creatures to get up. Glancing over at the trenchcoat man, he made sure the man was still holding his own, then glanced back to the two downed creatures, waiting for anything.

Kain Dunarrow - January 16, 2006 04:30 PM (GMT)
The two creatures reeled across the room and Kain made a sidelong glance at the newcomer. Not what Kain had expected to come from this person... he didn't even look like much of a fighter but he was a fighter indeed. Kain rushed forward while one of the creatures was standing up and swung with all his might at the creature's head. Kain heard a sickening crack as the creatures head wobbled and the creature fell back down.

In the meantime the other creature had gotten up and slashed at Kain. He winced as he felt the blade cut across his skin. He roared in anger and swept at the creatures feet with his leg. It made a wierd noise as it fell hard on the ground. Kain watched as the creature's dagger skidded across the floor. Kain pinned the creature down and snapped what would be it's neck.

He stood up and watched as the trenchcoat man made his final blow across the creatures face, snapping it's neck...

Kain yelled at him, "What in the hecks is going on here?"

Ethstar Solther - January 16, 2006 06:28 PM (GMT)
Ethstar blinked, glancing down at his left arm. Yes, that had been a burst of adrenaline. The arm was going numb, and the remaining bits of strength that had been left in it were slowly draining. Obviously the creatures were much heavier then he had first imagined. Muttering something of a curse, he looked up from the arm, his eyes suddenly changing back to the way they had been before. Normal green eyes that any man could naturally have. He scanned the room with his eyes, noting the damage they had al done. A large crack was spider webbed across the floor where Ethstar had slammed the creature, and broken tables and chairs were littered across the floor. The only people Ethstar could see were Kain and the trench coat man. It seemed the other people had ran away in all of the confusion, including the bartender. Ethstar gave a snort and sheathed his unused blade back into it's metal scabbard under the cloak. With a metallic sound, the blade vanish from sight. With a sigh, Ethstar walked over to the barstool he had once been on, and sat down with a thud. Turning himself so he was facing Kain, he made a weak smile.

"Does trouble usually follow you like this?" With a tired chuckle, he let his eyes rest on Kain for a few short seconds, then turned his innocent gaze to the trench coated stranger. Observing the man silently for a few moments, he simply judged the stranger, meeting his gaze calmly for a few seconds. After those moments had passed, Ethstar pulled his gaze away, having fulfilled his curiosity. Somewhat at least. He still couldn't figure out exactly what the man was just by observing him, so he knew watching him and hoping for a hint was useless. The man simply had stared back at him calmly, not really saying anything to the disguised Fallen. Ethstar could feel the stranger's gaze lingering though, even after he had pulled his own eyes away from the man. It was piercing and questioning, quite interesting eyes for such a normal looking man. Although, most normal looking men didn’t move as fast as this fellow had. And the man seemed to have some skill with a longsword as well. Sighing to himself, Ethstar shoved the curious thoughts from his mind and tried to focus on the matter at hand, which just happened to involve strange creatures with no faces.

With the thought of the creatures suddenly passing through his mind, he threw a glare in the direction of the fallen monsters. They had been fairly tough. Immune to blades it had seemed, but able to be hit hard enough that certain body parts would snap. Ethstar had yet to find any kind of being who didn’t have a neck to snap, and didn’t die after the snapping was performed. For a second, it looked as if the personality change that had happened right before the fight was going to take place a second time. A small smirk lit Ethstar’s face, looking the tiniest bit sadistic. But in a mere moment, it vanished, replaced by a calm look and straight lips.

Kain Dunarrow - January 16, 2006 10:36 PM (GMT)
Kain seemed confused; he glanced at the trenchcoat man and then glanced at the newcomer. He knew neither of them and yet they fought as though they were somebody. Not as good as Kain but they were definantly good. Kain wanted answers and he wanted them now and he decided to start with the newcomer. He pivoted, swirled around and kicked a broken chair piece out of the way to get to him.

Kains hand snapped up and pointed at the two creatures that he dispatched. "Who the heck are you and where the heck did you learn how do to that?" Kain was aggrivated and it came out in his tone. Kain waited impatiently for his answer.

Ethstar Solther - January 16, 2006 11:57 PM (GMT)
He watched silently as Kain glanced back and forth between him and the trench coat man, a look of calm amusement starting to gather on his face. He had no clue what had just happened, and he was probably wondering how a normal looking human could move so fast, and how the other normal looking human was so strong. The look on his face finally broke out into pure amusement, and he simply sat there, watching the show. The one in the coat was watching with an unreadable expression layered on his features. He had moved his gaze to watch Kain as well, and both of the strangers simply studied the confused looking man. Ethstar briefly wondered if the sake-doped man was ever going to sheathe his blade, or simply stand there with that bewildered expression painted across his face. Then, the expression turned to aggrivation, and he stomped his way over to Ethstar. Standing directly in front of Ethstar and his stool, he growled out a question and snapped up his hand to point at something. Ethstar's eyes followed the finger and realized he was pointing at the dispatched creatures. With a sigh, he brought his gaze slowly back to Kain.

Ethstar eyed Kain, unblinkingly matching his gaze with something like a questioning look on his face. He stared at Kain silently for a few moments, wondering how he should answer this question. A blink finally came as Ethstar finally made words come out of his lips, his face changing into a look of open sarcasm. Kain was the only one who had this effect on him so far. How lovely. With a growl, Ethstar spoke. "Simple." He stood up gracefully, matching Kain's height. Still staring into the human's eyes, his own two orbs changed viciously, snapping back into the intimidating gaze. Pinpricks that were pupils, and thin rings that were the colors. Dangerous with the promise of death held within the eyes. Kain had always been very good at ticking Ethstar off, even if the Fallen WAS in disguise. "Quite simple really, I am sure you could learn. You simply take your hand... and grab them, and slam them down." His voice dripped with open sarcasm, obviously mocking the aggrivated and confused man.

With another growl, and a voice that changed to a threatening tone, Ethstar spoke again. "I can show you, if you want." This man seemed completely different from the calm and reserved person of before, who had simply sat there and sipped on his mug of water. It was a really interesting personality change, which always happened when Ethstar began to get angry, or fight, or something similar. It was something he didn't have much control over, and something he usually regretted after doing. The eyes though, he had no clue about the way they changed. He had no clue that you got them pretty easily. All you had to do was kill a couple of people.

Turning his eyes past Kain, and eying the trenchcoated man, he spoke yet again. "And anyway. He jumped in the fray, even though he wasn't attacked by the things. Shouldn't you be questioning HIM." His eyes would give away who he was talking about, no pointing or gesturing needed. He left his eyes on the trench coat man for a for more seconds, then pulled his gaze back to Kain. "Well?"

Kain Dunarrow - January 17, 2006 12:18 AM (GMT)
Kain watched his eyes and fear ran through him, but his expression did not show fear but pure amazement. Kain felt threatened but he had bluffed off more intimidation that this man's... it reminded him of Ethstar and the way that he acted back at Kellen. But, this man was certainly not Ethstar to say the least.

Kain turned towards the trench coat man and let out a sigh and added to the newcomer, "Touch me, with your filthy hands and I'll kill you where you stand..." Kain looked at the trench coat man, "Now, on to you... who the heck are you?"

The man's head twisted in a wierd way and suddenly became blank. Kain leaped back as skin peeled off and slid to the floor. The man was another one of the creatures and Kain drew his sword. "But you, killed your own men... you betrayed them..." Kain looked down and smile, "You are worse than them, backstabbed your own kin... Enjoy your time in hell..."

Kain closed his eyes and felt the magic flow through him. He was casting faerie fire which would make the creature seem like he was on fire. However as the magic came out, there was a pale blue light as the creature was casting his own spell. The faerie fire engulfed Kain and he looked at himself. "Ahhh, fire... oh," Laughter filled the bar, "Reflection magic? Interesting..." He looked at the newcomer, "Despite our differences, let's take care of this shall we..."

Ethstar Solther - January 17, 2006 11:31 PM (GMT)
He watched as Kain spun around in anger, ignoring the man's threats. He was fairly sure the man couldn't kill him, so he had nothing to worry about. Right now, he was too busy focusing on the other strange man. Then the thing decided to reveal himself. For a split second, Ethstar's eyes widened in surprise, not expecting the man to be another one of the monsters. But then, the moment of surprise passed, and Ethstar placed his hand on the hilt of his longsword yet again. Not drawing the blade yet, he started to speak. "Interesting. But the better thing to have done would to slit our throats, and hold your disguise until then." Ethstar drew the blade, a long metallic sound echoing out, signalling what he had just done. In a few seconds, the blade was out and ready to kill. "Amateur." At that last word, he began to slowly walk to the left, heading toward the far right wall. Behind the creature was the entrance to the pub, and the left side of the pub on the creatures right. Behind the two warriors, Kain and Ethstar, was the wooden bar that they had been served drinks on. Debris was scattered around, along with the dead bodies of the previous monsters. They had been easy. This one would die just the same.

His plan was to split up from Kain, and he was hoping the man would circle around to the left side of the pub, to give the two a flanking position. That, and the monster could only manage to hit one of them. If he leaped for one, the other warrior would have a completely open attack on the creature's back. His reflection magic wouldn't really be that useful, for none of Ethstar's magic was the attacking type. He could do some amusing tricks with the magic he did have, however. The reflection powers of the mirror monster would only make things more interesting, in the end. He kept his eyes on the monster, ready for any moves. His blade tip was pointing toward the ground, only moving to avoid the scattered pieces of broken tables and chairs. His left arm was still numb, and out of strength, so it would be fairly useless in this battle. If he wanted to perform that slam again, he would have to either drop or sheathe his blade.

Finally speaking, he replied to Kain's idea. "Fine with me. Just try not to get caught in your imaginary fire again." With the slight taunt let loose, Ethstar shut up and began to analyze the opponent, by this time reaching the right wall of the pub. He kicked a few wooden pieces of table and chair away from his feet, and set into a stance. Feet spread out and his knees slightly bent, body facing the mirror monster. He brought his sword up and held it in front of his body, the tip pointing diagonally at the monster, with the pointing at his own waist line. A common defensive stance which allowed for blocks and parries, but one that was hard to make good attacks from.

Kain Dunarrow - January 18, 2006 01:10 AM (GMT)
Kain watched the newcomer get into his stance and then Kain cocked his head to the side. Kain wanted a frontal assault, not a defensive stance. Kain felt a fist bash into the side of his face and he slid across the bar. He spat out blood and turned to the glass being. Kain smirked, "Not bad, but I punch harder..." Kain whirled around, ran across the bar, leaped over the creature's defensive stance. Kain smiled at the simplicity, "I love this..."

The creature slid straight towards the newcomer as Kain slammed his elbow into the creature's back. He winced at the pain, "Gah... that thing is a rock!" Kain ran, following the creature as it slid towards the newcomer, "Now! Hit it in the neck!"

Ethstar Solther - January 19, 2006 08:20 PM (GMT)
Ethstar gave a short and simple nod, signalling that he had heard Kain's order and that he thought it was a good one. Thoughts and plans flew through his mind, the creature's death being the outcome of every single one. All the other one's had died because the neck had been snapped, so perhaps this one would be the same. Quickly considering his options, he briefly glanced down at the blade he held. He didn't want to risk breaking the steel across the creatures neck, so that wasn't an option. These guys, whatever they were made of, it was obviously some pretty hard stuff. Bracing himself, he waited as the creature came flying across the room at him, deftly hopping and dancing around broken pieces of chair and table. They were going to have alot to pay for after this was over, seeing how they had completely dismantled the inside of the pub. At least the man still had his barrels of grog and water intact. And whatever it was that Kain seemed to like so much, Sake, if he remembered correctly. Finally, the creature was close enough. With a smirk, Ethstar performed a near-perfect snap-kick. His boot came flying up, the disquised Fallen putting all of his strength behind the blow. This was going to hurt, both his toe, and hopefully the creature. If this vicious kick would snap the things neck, what would? The toe of Ethstar's boot was perfectly aimed at the underside of the things neck, intending to snap his head up with so much force that the neck wouldn't be able to take it.

And the thing vanished.

Ethstar blinked and let out a surpised yell as his boot connected with nothing, the man now frantically hopping on one foot to keep from toppling over. How did the thing...?! Wait. He had heard of this. A spell. Suddenly, Ethstar felt a rock-hard fist connect with the middle of his back. With another yell, he was sent flying from the pure force of the blow. Kain, being right behind the creature, would be right in his path. All the human would have seen was the creature vanishing, then a mere moment after, Ethstar blazing toward him, a picture of pain in his face. It only took moments, the mirror monster revealing speed that he hadn't managed to show before. This was going to be harder then he had thought. The creature was also quite talented with the Blink spell.

Kain Dunarrow - January 19, 2006 08:33 PM (GMT)
Kain watched as the creature grew closer and closer to the newcomer. Kain smirked as he braced himself and then just like that, the creature was gone. Kain stood petrified as the creature just disappered. Then there was a crack and a yell and the newcomer was thrust in his direction. Kain had only a moment to slide out of the way as the newcomer shot across the tavern. Kain looked at the man on the ground and back to the creature. Kain was mesmerized at the creatures abilities. He smiled...

"Frontal assault... should've known better." Kain sheathed his sword and placed his left hand on the hilt, sliding it out about an inch. This would be a stance that he had learned while fighting a long time ago. He could almost hear the words of his master say the word battiojutsu. Kain smirked and waited; was this such a good idea. He weighed his options. If the creature attacked from the front, and Kain drew out, the creature would just teleport behind him and hit him, just as the newcomer. Kain knew better and realized what he could do. He was trained in bluffing and feinting and was very good at doing it. He would wait for the creature's assault and then fake drawing, and grab the creature. Kain didn't know much about this magic, so he would just have to wait and see if this would work. Or, he could ask, "Psst... newcomer, what the heck did he do?"

Ethstar Solther - January 19, 2006 08:45 PM (GMT)
Ethstar went hurtling past Kain, the human barely getting out the way before getting hit. The angel finally hit ground though, smashing into a nice-sized pile of wooden rubble. Growling out a curse, Ethstar simply let himself lay there for a few moments, mumbling something about blasted-spellcasting. After a few moments of sulking, he painfully pulled himself up and out of the wooden shards. A few splinters were firmly imbedded within his cloak, but other then some aches and pains, he was pretty much okay. And through the whole ordeal, he had managed to keep ahold of his blade. Struggling to his full height, he sighed and slowly sheathed the blade, now considering it fairly useless. He was pretty sure it wouldn't do anything to the creature, and like he had thought before, he didn't want to break the blade upon the monster. He wasn't fond of going weaponless in this unknown plane of the humans. Sighing deeply again, he jerked his neck side to side, causing several loud pops to echo across the area. The mirror creature simply stood, his head facing the two warriors with an unreadable look on his face. He actually always had an unreadable look upon his face, seeing on how that may not even be a face. With a snort, Ethstar stepped forward, clearing himself of stray pieces of wood. His cloak settled around him on the floor, and he simply stood and considered his options for a moment. Again.

The blink spell was hard to overcome, and the problem was, that might not even be what the creature had. Usually, blink was a spell that needed eyes, but this monster seemed to be able to do it anyway. The short teleporting seemed to implify that particular spell. Faintly catching ahold of Kain's question within his mind, he kept his eyes on the creature, and spoke. "I think it is a Blink spell. Short teleports, but I may be wrong. Keep watch." Ethstar didn't say any more then that, for that was basically all the spell was. Fairly simple, but incredibly annoying. The two warriors seemed caught in a stand-still, as did the monster. As if each was prying the weakness's and strengths of the other, waiting for a good moment to strike. How would this play out? And how would they be able to land a good blow on him, and land it correctly enough to snap his neck? Sighing, Ethstar took another step forward, carefully judging his opponent to see if the monster was making any moves. A slight glance was thrown in Kain's direction, nothing the familar stance. A sarcastic comment would be thrown in his direction, Ethstar's disquised green eyes glittering. "Planning on tripping him, numbskull?"

Kain Dunarrow - January 19, 2006 09:03 PM (GMT)
A blink spell... short teleports... wow, this was gonna be really good. Kain had never faced an opponent with any of these spells. He wasn't used to fighting with magical combat or anything so, he was basically in a run for his money. He had no idea what to do or anything. As soon as the remark came from the newcomer Kain glanced at him and got out of his crouching stance. Kain was slightly offened but this was not the time to get into a fight with anybody but this creature. Kain spat on the ground and realized that he was bleeding, probably from the first punch he had sustained from the blasted creature.

Kain turned around and put his shoulder against the newcomer's and whispered, "I wanted you to know..." He walked past the newcomer and stopped, turning back to his foe and drew his sword back out. He closed his eyes and let the smell of the alcohol enter him, he could feel the effects of the earlier sakes beginning to wear off. This was not good, to be honest, Kain fought better drunk, not as fast but more irrational and willing to sacrifice everything for the kill. Kain pointed his blade at his opponent and rushed forward. He yelled out, "...this isn't gonna work!"

Blade swung through air and the creature was behind him. Kain smirked, "Gotcha...maybe" He swirled around and again sliced through air. "Curses." The creature was on the bar, next to the newcomer... Kain shouted, "Next to you, fool... kill that sucker!"

Ethstar Solther - January 24, 2006 12:04 AM (GMT)
With a growl, Ethstar took a leap off to the right, narrowly avoiding yet another punch from the mirror creature. Yelling at Kain, he spit out a sharp retort. "Fool?! You can't hit the blasted thing either, idiot!" Hitting the floor and tucking himself into a roll, he managed to get his body up to the doorway, where he snapped up from the acrobatic manuver. Glaring at the mirror creature, then switching his deadly gaze to Kain, he considered his options. The thing had to run out of magic some time or another. Either that, or he had a limited amout of times he could use the spell in a day. If neither of those things would happen, the both Kain and Ethstar would be in a mound of trouble. Letting out a curse under his breath, he kept on racking his brain. There had to be something they could do, anything... His glare traveled from Kain toward the creature, scanning over the bar. Glasses, barrels of something or another, stools... that was really all. He couldn't use any of them, and even if he could, the blows would never hit the teleporting creature. Yet another curse was uttered, and Ethstar finally let his gaze catch the creature.

Who wasn't there.

A silver fist smashed into Ethstar's jaw, sending him flying out of his thoughts and to the right. He grunted in pain as he hit the floor, a little bit of blood dripping from his lip. Strangly enough, that was all the strong blow had done. Busted his lip. If the creature was suprised in any way, he certianly didn't show it. With yet another short burst of light, the creature had vanished. Muttering something, Ethstar hopped from the floor to his feet, a white hand coming out from the cloak to wipe at the bloody lip. This was ridiculus. They were swiping at thin air, only to get sucker punched from behind. This needed to stop, and it needed to stop NOW.

With a short burst of light, the creature appeard behind Kain. With a shout, Ethstar tried to warn the man. It may be too late, the punch was already half-way there. The thing was simply toying with them. "Behind you!" With a growl, Ethstar took off, remembering to adjust his speed to human means. He sprinted off toward the back of the creature, hoping to get there and attack before the thing noticed. Slowly, he was starting to form a plan in his mind. The creature always appeared behind who he was to attack, for that was the best plan. Hopefully, he would keep doing that. After using the same move time after time...

Any idiot could counter it.

Kain Dunarrow - January 25, 2006 09:13 PM (GMT)
Kain felt the fist slam into the back of his head; toppling him over. He rolled in pain for the blow had connected and was well placed. A very painful hit indeed. Kain rolled forward, catching himself on the edge of a table and slowly climbed to his feet. This creature was beginning to annoy him and he wanted Sake... he had lost all buzz that he had once attained and he was nausiated. He ignored it as best he could. In anger, Kain kicked a chair, that broke as it skidded across the floor. Kain would have to have a plan and he didn't like to work with other people in formulating plans but he would need the help of the newcomer.

Behind him, the creature had appeared again, this time however, Kain was ready. He dropped on his hands, dodging the first punch and pushed up with his feet. They connected with the chin of the beast. The creature would fly up, barely missing the ceiling and disappear before crashing on the floor. He would appear next to the newcomer this time, prepared for another punch, perhaps at his head as well, "Predictable..."

Ethstar Solther - January 27, 2006 07:00 PM (GMT)
Ethstar stopped dead in his tracks as Kain snapped a kick at the Creature's chin, lifting him a couple of inches off the floor before the thing vanished once again. Likely readying itself for another cowardly attack from behind, or something of the such. This time though, Ethstar was ready. Silently he calmed himself, and concentrated on the area around him. The creature would have to appear extremely close, for the only thing the monster had to attack with was his own body. Slightly crouching at his knees, he readied himself for the eventual appearance of the beastie. He didn't want to be sent flying again if the creature managed to get past his next trick, so he tried to keep his weight planted. It finally appeared to his left, pulling back a fist for another fierce punch. The minute the creature appeared, Ethstar struck. As the thing was pulling his fist back, Ethstar own left hand would flash out in a jab, the knuckles planting themselves clearly upon the creature's jaw, or whatever it was. With an interesting cracking sound, the beast would be sent flying from the immense strength of the Angel. It skidded across the floor in a blur, slamming into a far wall with a painful sounding thud.

Glaring toward the beast, the Fallen Angel flexed his hand slightly, muttering something that would have made hell spawn wince. That thing had a pretty solid jaw, and even with Ethstar bracing himself, and putting all of his strength into the punch... the steel, or glass, or whatever it was the thing was made of had bruised his knuckles. On the far wall, the creature would finally gather his senses, and take a step forward away from the wall. With all the anger it seemed it could muster, its head was pointing toward the Fallen Angel, all of it's senses keen on destroying the one who had managed to hurt him. A long crack was spider webbed down the right cheek of monster, the battle-scar it had managed to snag from Ethstar. With an almost cocky smirk, the Angel straightened and turned to completely face the creature. "You are nothing but a one-trick pony."

And at that, the mirror thing vanished from sight. Once again, he was using his blink spell to teleport. With a snort, Ethstar lowered himself into the crouch seen before, opening his senses to the immediate area around him. A few pieces of wooden table and chair were littered near his boots, but he didn't want to take the time to lean down and get them. It was as if he had forgotten Kain already, or perhaps he was just ignoring him. But he simply waited, waited for the creature to attack once again. They were wearing it down, or so he hoped.

Kain Dunarrow - January 29, 2006 02:04 AM (GMT)
Kain was angry and had become annoyed with this creature. He wanted it dead and he wanted it to be done with so that he could move on with his inspection of this newcomer. However, for this to happen, they would have to kill it, and it was going to be tougher that most of the fights that Kain had been in. One of the reasons was the blasted Blink spell which had become increasingly aggravating since this creature used it religiously. Another reason was the fact that the creature was as hard as rock. His foot throbbed from the kick, even if he kicked with his sandals. This fight however, was entertaining Kain, which was a good thing. The newcomer was able to thwart the creature and so, Kain would do as well.

The creature would not appear behind either of them this time, instead, it would appear on the bar to the left of both of them. Kain swirved around and raised an eyebrow as the creature glowed red and then white, then back to red. If it had a face, Kain would’ve suspected a smirk as two fireballs, simultaneously fired from the creature. One at Kain and the other at the other man. Kain suspected an attack and had already shifted to the side, so he just continued, dodging fully to the right, nearly falling over the chair. Kain ran forward at the creature, expecting that he might get a hit…

Ethstar Solther - February 3, 2006 11:09 PM (GMT)
Ethstar stood there with a smirk planted firmly on his face, keeping his eyes trained on the still creature. The thing was planning something. Why else would it teleport that far away from the two? He raised one eyebrow as the creature started to blink different colors, and cautiously lifted his blade up so the tip pointed directly at the creature. This was a purely defensive stance, but it was the best thing since he had no idea was the mirror monster was planning on pulling. He slowly started to advance toward the monster, still keeping the sword out in front of him. His arms were fully extended as well, even furthering the effectiveness of the defensive manuever. If the creature decided to blink again though, it would be hard to transist to the offensive.

Apparently, that wasn't what the creature had in mind. After the last of three flashes occured, a random fireball appeared out off nowhere to fly at Ethstar. He didn't even have time to think, his eyes widening in suprise at the sudden and unexpected spell. The middle of the fireball hit his blade tip, and continued on. Travelling down the length of the blade, it blasted into his hands. With a roar of pain, his intensely burned fingers dropped the blade, and he stumbled backwards a few steps.

Out of the corner of his eye, he could see that Kain had dodged the attack, and was ready to attack the creature. The thing must have noticed as well. Seemingly assured that Ethstar was helpless for the moment, the creature vanished into another blink spell. An instant later, the thing appeared directly in Kain's path, right up in front of him. Close enough to send his right fist flying in another rough punch. At the speed Kain had been going, and at the closeness of the creature... the human may very well run right into the fist. Ethstar wasn't of much help now, stunned and burned.

Kain Dunarrow - February 7, 2006 09:16 PM (GMT)
Kain barreled forward, keeping half a glance on newcomer as the fireball hurtled towards him. Kain winced as he heard the cry of pain that expelled from the man's mouth. Kain knew how painful it was to be burned by fire, and how painful it was to be hit with a giant rock, but Kain didn't know the feeling of both together. Kain turned back to the creature, which wasn't where he was supposed to be. Kain slowed as best he could but the fist still connected with his cheek. Kain winced as he fell back then smirked as he jammed his sword into the crack that was left from an old blow. Kain shoved deep, however all he did was make the crack bigger and make the creature squeal in what would seem like pain.

Kain fell onto the ground with a second wince. He quickly brought himself to a crouch and raised his arm out to the side. Kain realized that he was nearby to the newcomer and so was the creature. Kain's mouth gaped open as the creature spoke for the first time, ”You are annoying... humans, yes. That's... what you are, you are humans... and now... you will hurt...” The creature brought his foot around, kicking at the newcomer's side.

Ethstar Solther - February 8, 2006 09:10 PM (GMT)
Ethstar was busy staring at his hands as the creature and Kain traded a few blows, the Fallen angel putting all of his focus into his magics. Within a few seconds, the burning pain on his skin was slowly starting to lessen, but the fingers themselves were quite numb. Letting loose a short growl, he started to trot over to his blade, ready to try and see if he could hold onto the hilt. His main concern at the moment was that he would not be able to grip the blade, his fingers being too numb to firmly wrap around the leather hilt. Yet that was soon to be the least of his worries, as he noticed that Kain had been punched next to him. Blinking at the man for a few moments, the next logical line of thought managed to cross his mind. If the two of them were here, then the creature must be...

Blast.

Snapping his gaze up in a blink, his eyes settled upon the monster who was so very close. For a moment, his mind considered the possibility of flashing down and taking hold of the blade, and using it to destroy the beast. The plan was quickly discarded however, Ethstar still not completely sure if he was healed enough to have a good grip on the sword. Nearly snarling at the creature, he prepared himself to attack. Then the creature SPOKE. Ethstar's lips parted slightly in surprise, not ready for this revelation quite yet. The thing didn't even have a mouth, so how was it managing to... Ethstar tried to shove the surprise from his mind, jerking his head side-to-side in the effort. And it was then he noticed the leg of the creature coming up in a kick from the right, ready to bash him in the ribcage.

With a flash of speed, he brought his right arm up in a guard, the fist pointing toward the sky in a horizontal arm block. He didn't want to try and catch the kick, for that might irritate his fingers even more then they already were. With a great thud, the foot of the creature slammed into his tightened arm muscles. Ignoring the jolt of pain that slashed up his arm, he went into his own violent attack. His left foot came up, a graceful snap kick aimed for the chin. He didn't hold back at all, simply let all of his muscles flow into the blow. If this didn't snap the neck, not much else would.

Kain Dunarrow - February 9, 2006 08:46 PM (GMT)
The newcomer would block the kick with his arm and Kain would wince at the sight. It must've been painful for the newcomer, knowing that this creature certainly had some physical strength to it. Kain watched as the newcomer came around, letting the kick hit the creature underneath the chin. There was a sickening snap as the creatures neck broke and Kain smirked.didn't get to land the final blow, but it ceratainly was a painting perfect finish. The creature just simply crumpled, dead, it's arm twitched as it hit the floor. The creature glowed a light blue before the “aura” faded from around it. Kain figured that was some sort of life force, to tell if the creature was alive or not. Kain at this point, turned around and looked at the newcomer on the floor.

Kain watched him for a moment studying his face, as well as remembering past words that had been said. Kain smirked, “How did you know that I could've tripped him?” Kain bent close to him and leaned forward, “Unless you have fought me before?” Kain waited a moment, letting his words sink in. Maybe this newcomer would reveal his true identity; Kain had only fought a few people here in Imythess and he really, deeply and earnestly wanted it to be Ethstar, for different reasons. Perhaps, this would be the day that Kain killed Ethstar. But, he was getting ahead of himself, he waited for the newcomer to reply.

Ethstar Solther - March 1, 2006 07:57 PM (GMT)
The disguised Fallen eyed Kain with a mixture of wariness and anger, knwoing that he had indeed earlier performed the perfect slip-up with his words. Already mental curses agaisnt his own stupidity was flowing through the area's of his mind, filling him with anger and resentment. The eyes of the Fallen Angel blazed bright with intesity as he continued to glare at Kain, the look in his eyes one of pure and utter bloodthirst. Even though his arms were hanging limp at his side, both practically useless, he looked as if he was ready to leap up and strangle the human being. He was so intently focused on Kain that he did not even realize that he had killed the creature, did not even see he had managed to snap the Mirror Monster's neck. There was a loud thud as the creature hit the wooden floor, and an even louder crack as the thing obviously did some damage to the planks. The keeper of this place was not going to be happy when he got back, that much was for certian.

His words came out, rough and sprinkled with pain. "Maybe I was there watching, it really doesn't matter." With that spoken, he started to slowly make his way toward the door of the pub, wincing every now and then from the jolts of pain travelling the length of his arms. He would have to try and find a healer somewhere, he was thinking the closest town was Taras. Either that, or simply give it regular treatments with his own minor healing skills, and hope that would do some kind of good to the burns. Without any conscious thought, he gave his fingers a sharp flex, trying to figure out if they were still numb. They didn't move an inch. With a sigh, he continued to the door, throwing words over his shoulder. "I would get lost quick. The people that ran are likely to bring guards." Blinking, the Fallen Angel remembered his sword, and backtracked to get it. Eyeing it with some form of disdain, he ackwardly started to fiddle around with the hilt, trying to find some way to pick it up and sheath it.

Sighing, he started to pulse even more healing magic from his soul to his fingers. Expending this much magic would hopefully null the whole numbness effect, was it was likely to leave him quite exhuasted. With a muttered curse aimed at the mirror creature on the ground, he simply stood there, his hands starting to glow a steady blue.
