Title: Some Peace and Quiet

KittyKatKitsune! - December 31, 2005 05:23 AM (GMT)
The door had swung open, you can see someone walk in, with a dark cloak on due to rain, and high gusts of wind. The Tavern was full of talking, dancing, and some feared races. The cloaked person who had just came in, walked to the back, to the darkest corner. She took a chair, and pulled it out from under the table, then sat down. She looked down at the table, and had a very worried look on her face, she was afraid of not being accepted, after all, this was her last resort. She quickly shook her head, and looked around to make sure nobody was looking, then took off her hood. On her head, you could see ears, more like cat ears.

The rain outside had made her cold, and she shivered, then sneezed. Exhausted, she put her head on the table, and had started to doze off...

Nightwind - January 1, 2006 12:24 AM (GMT)
The door swung open again and this time a young looking women came in and looked around and a look of anger on her face and she was mumbling something under breath and then turned her head towards the lonely cat like person sleeping and noticed that it was not good to sleep in this tavern like the time I did and was attacked when I fell asleep here, she thought then she walked towards the girl and the look of dragon rage left and a smile replaced it and her eyes went up and down looking at the person. "Why Hello there... Sorry to wake you but ts not a good idea." She said shaked the girl so she will wake up.

There was a look of sorry on Sava's face but replaced it with a smile again. She was in humen form so she could walk into the bhilding.

Rolnar Riversbane - January 1, 2006 05:03 PM (GMT)
Rolnar had been sitting in the shadows smoking his pipe. Smoke clung to him like moss to a tree. It help hide him. He watched as the two entered. The first surprised him when she pulled off her hood. The only emotion that showed surprise was him blowing more smoke. He watched contently as she began to sleep. He was startled when the second woke her. Rolnar watched this newcomer with annoyance.

Kli_Of_Lorian - January 2, 2006 01:16 AM (GMT)
Soft footsteps pitter patted down the streets of the city as a young woman started towards the Bloodseal Tavern. She, in fact, hadn't been there for quite some time and was starting for it to eat some dinner and maybe listen to light conversation even though she hardly knew anyone. Her pace was neither quick nor fast, a steady beat that made it seem as if she was walking to the sound of music that would be inbetween her ears. Her blue grey eyes wandered around, darting back and forth as if she did not trust her fellow man that walked about the street around her. She pushed some of her black and red hair behind her ear as a gentle breeze blew about the streets of the city. Her brown boots made a clipitty clop as she kept up a steady pace, her brown cloak that went over her swishing back and forth as well as her simple light blue dress that matched her eyes. She pulled the cloak closely around her, hiding her torso from the wind as she approached the tavern. She looked back to see if he had been following her since she had been leading Ethstar to the tavern so he could eat. "Come on.." She smiled. She looked back towards the door of the tavern, seeing a man holding the door open for a young lady that was about to walk in. She shook her head with a soft laugh, watching the man as she fell back into an old memory.

Flashback:
"Ah, princess Kli, what a lovely suprise it is to see you again.. It's been too long since we last met.." Kli smiled softly, giving a curtsie as she started to walk with her friend. They came to a door and he opened the door for her with a smile. "Ladies first of course.." Kli gritted her teeth, biting her tongue as she forced herself not to be rude and walked through the door. "Of course.." She muttered, bawling her hands into fists.

Kli snapped out of her memory as the woman smiled and walked through the door before the man walked in after her. She walked to the door, rolling her eyes slightly to herself as she thought about the silly traditions and started to open the door.

Nightwind - January 2, 2006 04:20 AM (GMT)
Sava looked around at the people that where coming in and then at the man that looked like he didn't like her but it was hard to see him in the Smoke. She still looked at the man and did not move her eyes off him for a long long time then she moved them to the girl that she was trying to wake up since it is not the best place to sleep at. Those people that star at me as if am evil or think am stupid, she thought to herself in anger and then sat down next to the girl and called for a waitress and ordered ale and then the person left.

After awhile the waitress came back with ale and Sava gave the waitress two coin pieces and then taked a drink of ale then looked at the girl again then at the man that looked like he didn't like her. She kept her eyes there like she didn't tust the man then she moved them again and pulled her hood down and black and green hair fell out and then she pulled it back and tied it with some string she finded in her pocket and then drink some more ale.

Rolnar Riversbane - January 2, 2006 04:55 AM (GMT)
Rolnar tapped the ashes out of his pipe and stowed into the deep reaches of his cloak. The girl had a nervous look about her. She kept glancing at him. He cracked a grin under his hood. Fear was something he was used. It was a good weapon. It made people think before doing something. Giving up valuable time. If he was to kill her. It would be to easy, but he was here for other matters...

Weeks ago he had council with the tree spirits. They told him a half dragon, a cat, and a once princess would aid him. That was all he was told. he came here and waited. he waited for days finnaly they all came, but what could they aid him in? It was a question he would have to answer himself.

Rolnar stood up leaqving the cloud of smoke. You would think he would become more visable, but no. The darkness still lingered. He moved nimbaly toward the two. Once he reached them he bowed. "Travelers. I have sought you out for days. The tree spirits have told me to wait for you. Here you are. If it pleases you may I sit and inde with the?" Rolnar stood there and waited for thier reply. The darkness fading from him, every second he stood there.

Nightwind - January 3, 2006 04:01 AM (GMT)
Sava mumbled something under her breath and then when the man came over and started to speak she jumped a little then looked up at the man and laughed at what he said but she couldn't say anything for a long time.

"Well then, its not up to me its the ladys right here so if you want to sit ask her." She said with a nod to the cat like girl. She started to smile and then looked over to the other tables and saw a man stand up and he was holding a dagger and was walking towards them and there was a evil smile on his face like lots of the people here. The man was close to the table and was bringing up his dagger he was holding. Sava standed with the must grace as a elf could do and put her hand on her Scimitar then so fast she drew it out of its seath and hold it high then came close to the man as the man taked a step back bt before he could runaway Sava stabed him in the gut and blood poured out and onto her Scimitar that she calls Nightwind.

She pulled the blade out and wiped it on the mans shirt and seathed it then walked back to the table like nothing happened and taked a deep drink of ale then looked back where the man lay dead. Then after awhile she looked at Rolnar. "So what have these tree spirits say about me then." She said a smile formed over her lips.

KittyKatKitsune! - January 4, 2006 05:28 AM (GMT)
"You shall die" "No! She shall!" "Shes a better target, she doesn't belong here!" "Kill her!" "Kill the cat girl!!"Black figures all around her clouded her. She couldnt move... she felt like she was going to die....

"No....No.....No...." He head moved back and forth as she was half in her dream, and half in reality. Her eyes opened at the sound of a womens voice and jumped up.
"Um...He-Hello..." She looked down on the table, and her ears moved, still trying to get rid of her weariness. She frantically put her hood back on and looked at the man, and then back at the women. She cleared her throat and said.."Um...my names Kat." She nodded, knowing that the tavern was an ok place tell them her name... it wasnt like they would attack her in front of all these people....
They wouldnt want to get beat..if that was the case... then they wouldnt want to show their face again in this tavern..

Kat sighed and then spoke. "So, how may I help you two??"

Rolnar Riversbane - January 5, 2006 08:00 PM (GMT)
Rolnar watched as the first girl killed the man. He was a little impressed. He also waited as the other girl woke. "My lady you are chosen by the tree spirts to help me in my quest, as is this girl. There is a third but I have yet to meet her." Rolnar pulled back his hood revealing dark skin and dark hair. His eyes were red, not gleaming red like a demon. His ppupils were red. "I am a Drow and have had council with the tree spirits. They sent me to find you two and a third. There is a rise in demon populations. We are to bring that number down. We just need to wait for the third." Rolnar took a seat and lit his pipe again.

Nightwind - January 5, 2006 09:24 PM (GMT)
Sava laughed. "Am no bloody demon killer, and am no hero and you can tell those tree spirits that am not hunting demon, am a worthless Warrior that nobody likes." She said and taked a deep breath. "And am not helping on any quest." She said and and drinked al of the ale that was left.

"Well Kat its nice to see you up and what am doing here is to get ale and drink like everybody else." She said and glanced and Rolnar the looked back at Kat. "And I waked you up since it is not safe in this place so don't ask me what am doing in this bloody tavern I just wanted ale and I could not find the other tavern. And so Kat my name is Sava and i think its a nice name, oh never mind that anyways." Agh, I can never shut myself up, sava thought to herself.

"So whats your name then sir." She said and she looked at Rolnar waiting for a answer from him. "Oh and who's the third." She asked.

Ethstar Solther - January 8, 2006 12:14 AM (GMT)
Quietly, Ethstar made his way down the street, not far behind Kli as she led him to the food she had told him about. His eyes darted in several different directions, trying to take in all the different sight and sounds, all the foriegn ideas and concepts that were happening all around him. Sighing to himself, he brushed a few strands of black hair away from his light blue eyes, taking a glance at the lady in front of him. She seemed to be alot different from the others on the street. First of all, she wasn't googling. Several of the passing girls had noticed his unnatural beauty, and were giving him flirtatious stares and giggles. Angels were hauntingly beautiful, and Ethstar had never been an exception. He just tried his best to ignore the gazes coming in from all directions, and focus on the new sights, or focus on Kli. He really had no clue they were flirting with him, and the stares and giggles were just leading him to the conclusion that most women are quite weird. But Kli. No, she never had stared at him like the other women. He appreciated that. He didn't feel near as uncomfortable around her. Granted, he had confused her no doubt, but she had seemed to believe his story about the military camp. He was awful at lying, and he had been almost sure she would see through his bluff. But she hadn't.

Ethstar was an interesting figure, standing exactly at 6'3. Locks of straight black hair fell in front of light blue eyes, while a perfect face glowed with otherworldy handsomeness. He was wearing a cloak that hid his body from the neck down, the hem of the cloak stopping at the ankles. He only really had two things to hide, and so far, he was doing a good job. Folded and bandaged angel wings were slowly growing cramped on his back, while a hidden longsword was growing cold on his left hip. To others, he would look perhaps eighteen, much, much younger then he truly was. Another giggling girl went un-noticed as he moved quickly toward the tavern door, noticing something that he was supposed to do, or so he assumed.

As Kli moved in toward the door, he slid in front of her, grabbing at the handle of the wooden barrier and slowly holding it open, making a short, polite bow. Trying to act like the humans again, and fit in. He waited solemnly for her to enter in, trying to keep in line with the tradition that apparently stated women should go first.

Kli_Of_Lorian - January 8, 2006 05:38 AM (GMT)
Kli blinked as Ethstar slipped in before her and opened the door for her. She looked a bit confused for a moment, wondering what he was doing. Surely if he didn't know it was improper to pay for a woman's food because it would make people think that the gentlemen had ungentleman-like thoughts than he wouldn't know the traditions of human society like holding a door for a lady. She stood there, somewhat stunned before looking at the door and remembering how the man had open the door for the lady just moments before. Her confused face changed from confusion to realization before looking to him once again and giving a sigh. "What do you think your doing?" She asked, taking a step from the door and studying her face. She crossed her arms, raising her eyebrows as she waited for some sort of explaination for a few moments before sighing and shaking her head a little. "Look, it may be a tradition for gentlemen to open doors for women in our society, but I am different than the other women if you haven't already noticed and I would like to be independent from a man's expectations.." She said simply.

She expected that Ethstar wouldn't get it, I mean if he really had been born into the military customs, he wouldn't know the customs of higher society like the people in the real world would. She knew she would just confuse him more, but she hated it when men acted as if she couldn't do the most simplest things even if it was a tradition. She wanted to be independent and not have men expecting that she depend on them for every single thing. She wanted to be her own person, able to make her own life for herself. Sure, she might marry and depend on her husband partly, but she wanted a person who would depend on her just the same way. She hated the fact that she always had to be submissive to the male gender, and she wouldn't have it. "Look, I know that most women would be thankful for the gesture, but I'd appreciate it if you wouldn't act as if I was a lady, but as a fellow human who can do exactly anything a man can do.. I wouldn't have it any other way because that is how I am comfortable.."

Ethstar Solther - January 8, 2006 07:48 PM (GMT)
He gave her a blink, both of them now blocking the doorway. A few heads turned to regard them both, wondering what the commotion was. A few chuckles were let loose from the inside too, perhaps thinking of a lover's squabble, or perhaps of a lady giving a rude man a flaming. However, neither one was reallt the case. Ethstar stared at Kli for a few seconds, letting a silence settle. He was slowly trying to figure it out in his head. So, holding open the door, paying for dinners... it was a show of politeness, but to this woman, it was just an annoyance. She didn't want to depend on men. Is that what she was saying? He had noticed that women seemed to be a little bit lower in the social ladder then men did. He had noted it earlier, and thought it slightly odd and shameful. But women did seem to fall into the position quite well, where they leaned on men for support, and seemed to be treated as lesser beings. As if they couldn't do the simplest actions without a man's help. He had just thought it was another one of the strange quirks of humans.

But here was one who was different. His eyes and face spoke of confusion for a few more moments, but then a look of understanding dawned, which was soon followed by a glimmer of respect. She was standing up for herself, and thank the Gods, she wasn't giggling at him. This was a little closer to what he was used to. The women he had seen with the Celestial legion, they had been treated exactly like men, sometimes even better then men. He remembered some men speaking of a woman general, actually. He hadn't paid much notice at that moment, for it was not a soldier's duty to observe things. But as the memory was recalled, he felt it appropriate to compare the lady to that particular woman.
Another blink was issued, and he finally spoke.

"You simply want to be treated as an equal. That, I can understand." He gave a smile and nodded, walking in the doorway and into the tavern, his body coming into full view of everyone inside. A few women blushed, a few men growled, and others simply stared. Even men knew he was much more handsome then them. As he entered the door, he threw some words behind his back, the tone still a polite tone.

"An equal you are..."

Kli_Of_Lorian - January 9, 2006 08:11 PM (GMT)
Kli watched him silently, studying the confused look that was on his face and ignoring the chuckles that were let loose from the inside of the tavern. She stood there, a young woman struggling for her independence, searching his face for some sort of dawning of understanding. She watched as his confused face changed as he finally understood what she meant all along. As he spoke, she smiled widely, excited that someone finally understood what she had always wanted someone to understand. Inside she felt like jumping up and down as though she had one a million peices of gold, but she contained herself, watching him walk inside and speak a bit. She followed him in, pushing some of her hair from her face as she looked about the tavern silently. As she walked in, she noticed the women gawking at him and she wondered why they would stare and giggle so obviously when it would not help them know the person behind the face. Sure, even she could tell that he had angelic features that most would find attractive, but she never did get why women like herself only looked on the outside of a person and didn't get to know what's on the inside before falling into madness.

Kli had never been in love, and as far as any man knows she has never liked one being more than a friend. For her, love was supposed to remain a secret, and the women throwing themselves at mens feet were pitiful in their desperation. Stupid women, do they not know the saying of do not judge a book by its cover? She thought, giving the women a strange look that put them into puzzlement. She shook her thoughts from her head, walking up to the bar and taking a seat on a stool before waiting for the bartender to pay attention. "Yes, m'dear, how may I help you today?" Kli smiled softly, taking out a few gold peices. "May I have some bread and a drink of water please?" She asked, putting the money on the counter. The bartender nodded, putting some bread on the counter and putting a mug of clear water on it as well. "Thank you sir.."

Ethstar Solther - January 10, 2006 06:13 PM (GMT)
Pausing for a moment inside the tavern, he glanced around, noting all of the interesting things happening. A human-looking one with strange ears, and then a darkly colored... something. He wasn't sure. After gazing at the group of three for a short moment, he sighed, turning his gaze to Kil as she walked through the door. It was probably still rude to stare here at strange looking people, just as it was in the Celestial plane. Although, from all the stares that were being directed in his direction, he certianly had his doubts. Sighing, he kept watching Kli, planning on following her lead. She had said this place would have food and drinks, but he had no clue how to get it. He noted as she gave some of the gawking women a somewhat strange look, causing the girls to look back in puzzlement. Ethstar hid a smile, secretly thankful Kli had distracted their attention for a short time. As soon as she headed for the bar, he followed suit, taking a stool beside of her, and silently listening as she completed her order. So that was how it was done. After the bartender had served her, the man turned his gaze to Ethstar, slightly wary this time around. "May I help you, sir?"

Ethstar stared back for a few seconds, then spoke softly. "The same as the lady, sir." The man blinked, seemingly suprised by Ethstar's quiet politeness. Then, with a sharp nod and a spin, he was on the job. He worked quickly and efficently, his hands dipping a mug into a barrel of crystal clean water, filling it to the brim and sliding it to Ethstar. A hand dipped into a cupboard, and managed to grab a nice portion of bread, sending it after the mug of water. Giving a short nod in thanks, Ethstar used Kli as an example once more, pulling a few gold pieces from somewhere inside his cloak and tossing them in front of the barkeep. At the sight of gold, the man smiled broadly, now convinced that Ethstar was an honest customer. "Thank you, milord." Ethstar gave another sharp nod, a little surprised at being noted by the title. Silently, Ethstar clasped the mug, bringing it up to his lips in a soft sip.

After drinking a few ounces, he set the mug down gently, turning his gaze toward Kli. "Milady, I apoligize, but I don't ever think I got your name."

Kli_Of_Lorian - January 10, 2006 10:32 PM (GMT)
Kli sighed softly, glancing back at Ethstar as he followed after her suit and ordered his own food. She could help but think it was funny of his manners, because it was much different than most of the men's manners around Imythess. Sure, the men there had great manners, always trying to be nice and thoughtful to the women and their guests, but they never said 'M'lord' and 'M'lady'.. She smiled softly, shaking her head a little bit before looking to her food and eating a little. She had never really eaten much, mostly because she was never all that hungry. When she had first arrived about Imythess, she was living off a soup she had made out of herbs and spices she found about the forest. She took a long sip of her water, leaving her bread hardly touched as she looked around the room to find the other travelers that seemed to have gathered about. She tilted her head slightly, watching a moment, before suddenly ripping her eyes from them so it wouldn't look like she was staring at them for some odd reason. She had this weird feeling that something was going to happen, but she couldn't place how or why it was to happen. She looked to her water once again, letting her fingers trace about the rim of the mug as she sat in silence. She closed her eyes, listening to the silence of the room as she breathed deeply and let any stray thoughts wander into her head.

Her meditation was snapped away by a familiar voice. At first she couldn't quite place it, but when she opened her eyes and looked over to Ethstar quietly her mind was snapped out of others' thoughts. She watched him for a moment, trying to rewind her memories to see if he had ever told her his name. She couldn't think of it, but figured that he must have not said it. "Oh, yes, I'm sorry.." She said with a small smile. "I am Kli, and if you ask I don't have a last name.." She shrugged. "What might be your name again?" She asked before taking a small sip from the mug of water and studying him silently. She tried to keep her mind in check, but it kept wandering off, thinking of why he always acted so strange. She had always had that thought way in the back of her mind, but she figured that she shouldn't intrude.

Ethstar Solther - January 10, 2006 11:41 PM (GMT)
He studyed her face with curious eyes, wondering why she was so distracted. He was wishing he could catch sight of some of the thoughts that plagued her mind, holding her attention captive. He didn't mind it, but it did make his curiousity level rise. After a few more moments of simply gazing into her eyes, trying to pierce the calm orbs, he gave up and answered her question. "I would be known as Ethstar. Nice to meet you, Kli." The milady was dropped as soon as she told him her name, another way of him continuing to treat her as an equal to himself. It came naturally, the word flowing over his lips and out of his mouth without even a thought going to calling her 'milady' again. He let loose a smile, and nodded, turning his eyes from hers to regard the bread. It looked quite nice actually. Brown and crusty, warm and wonderfully scented. He stared at it for a few more moments, fondly recalling when he had first found the food. They had ate a lot of this in the Celestial plane. With a short smile, he lifted the small loaf to his mouth, taking a small, polite bite. Chewing with his mouth closed for a few moments, he simply let the flavor flow throughout his mouth, the soft bread tasting wonderful to his tongue. He had obviously eated the mushrooms for way too long, because this bread tasted incredible. Either that, or the man here was an incredible cook. He must remember to thank the bartender later, perhaps with a few more pieces of gold. He was sure the human would appreciate that. They seemed particularly fond of gold pieces, which the Fallen Angel certianly had an abundance of.

Suddenly, Ethstar took notice of the gazes. This time, they weren't flirtatious. He felt angry gazes, hostile looks, boring into his back like a great lazer. He tried to ignore them though, pushing the feeling to the back of his mind and concentrating on Kli. He suddenly felt very conscious of the wings hidden behind his cloak, hoping that they weren't sticking out or anything. It wouldn't be a pretty scene if they were. He swallowed slightly, then turned his eyes back to Kli, trying to put all of his focus onto her face. She might feel some of the intense concentration coming from his gaze. "Could you tell me more of this city and the surrounding lands? I still haven't found a definite map, or gotten a feel for the area." He spoke the truth. It was pure luck that had led him to this town, where he had managed to get a meal and learn a little bit more about the strange humans.

Jib Ivan - January 24, 2006 07:16 PM (GMT)
Walking to the tavern door Jib opens and walks in. He looks around glaring at everyone, taking in all of the hostile looks. Jib walks over to the bar and sees that it is full. He says to a man at the darkest corner of the bar "Move". The man looks at him with merth on his face "And if I say no". Without warning Jib unsheaths his claws and cuts of the mans head. "Bartender, ale now". Seeing the other dragon he says to the bartender "And ale for her" Seeing that the bartender was not complieing barks an order "Scum bag, I said ale, NOW!!!". After the bartender brings her & he ale he just sets there drinking and looking at her, cuariosety in his eyes.

Nightwind - January 25, 2006 02:20 AM (GMT)
Sava was looking angry staring at Rolnar. Thenshe looked at the door looking at all the people and then at the half dragon that barked out orders and and listened to what he said about getting ale for her. And all she did was star like she was looking inside him.

"Do you like staring at me half dragon." She snarled in anger staring at him with eyes of a dragon in rage. But she knowed that it wasn't that threating since she was only in humen form and just looked like a young women. She stared at the door again and thinking that she should leave but she sat where she was.

Jib Ivan - January 25, 2006 07:27 PM (GMT)
"hehehe get bored of your old life pureblood?" He just sits there looking at her smerking "aaa oldtimers are no fun.

(sorry this is short have to get off)

Nightwind - January 25, 2006 08:09 PM (GMT)
"I am not old." She said and standed glaring at the half dragon. People were staring now at Sava and the half dragon. "Back to your drinks." Barked Sava at the humens then she turned to the half dragon.

"You just have to say that am dragon when there are a lot of humens around." Sava snarled in anger and her hand was on her sword. She standed there glaring at the half dragon.

(Its alright... will it is to me)

Jib Ivan - January 26, 2006 06:48 PM (GMT)
"Will at least I'm not ashamed to show my blood you pureblood coward". Jib was standing and had his hand on his katana. "You think its hard being a dragon, try being a half-dragon, I'm not accepted by humans or dragons, I'm an outcast I have no family no friends no allys, why should I not go on a killing sprea, all of you would gladly kill me, to red this pitiful bit of ground of a hidious half-man half-dragon monster, YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IT MEANS TO NOT BE ACCEPTED!!!". By now everyone was ether drawing weopens or lieving. Not caring happened Jib draws his katana and backs into a corner wathing for the coming attack.

Nightwind - January 26, 2006 09:21 PM (GMT)
"I DO KNOW FOOL!!!." Sava shouted in anger stareing at the half dragon. After awhile people around started to shout for the gaurds when the saw Sava changing into a dragon.

"Its the dragon the gaurds are looking for." Shouted a person runnign for the door. Sava started to change. Black and green scales started to appear and her neck was getting longer while a tail started to appear changed and it looked like a whip. Soon she was a full dragon and was staring at the half dragon with eyes of rage.

"Look at me half dragon...... I am two colors..... black and green.... that means am a dragon with two species in me..... and its a black and green and those can of dragons are evil.... but am not.... if I was bad I would have killed you and everyone of these humens.... but no I will not for I care for humens and half dragons.... but there are some days a get mad and look at yourself.... you got me on one." She said a bit of sadness in her eyes but there is always rage. Everyone was basicly out of the tavern and gaurds were running towards here.

Jib Ivan - January 27, 2006 06:21 PM (GMT)
Jib was just about to attack when he smellt something. "Wait dragon do you smell that it smells like gas!!! Don't use your fire you will kill us both. I'm sorry if it helps" not relly meaning it "change back into a human and lets go if the gaurds smell it well both get let up dragon or not, we must go" Jib starts heading for the back door and calls over his shoulder "are you coming"
