Title: A Night of Hate
Munwithurix - November 27, 2005 12:07 AM (GMT)
(OOC: For Kona only)
Munwithurix walked into the bar where the evil people liked to hang out, she really didn't like coming here because to her these people were weak compared to herself, but the only reason for coming to night was to find someone she thought was becoming a problem. Even though he was a follower of the Goddess of Blades that didn't bother her to much, she was a strong Archmage, and she was probably stronger them him.
Her armor glistened as the candles danced around the room, her long sword was at her side and her cloak drifted behind herself. People looked at her as she walked up to the bar, many here looked like criminals and were ugly, but she was quite nice looking compared to the others.
She made it to the bar and sat down, her dark eyes gazed over at the many people here, it was a crowded night here, but there was little talking and a lot of whispering. A maid walked over, she was ugly like everyone else, and she didn't look like she was in a good mood.
"What can I get you?" she asked glaring at Munwithurix.
"I'll have Red Wine," she returned just as sour. She always hated coming here, because she had to deal with many people being drunk, thats why she always stayed in the Marsh.
After the barmaid returned with her drink, she then grabbed her wine and walked over to a shady looking table, only a single man sat there, who wore a ragged old cloak over his face. "So tell me, where is this man I have to take care for my own good, I don't remeber his name, and tell where I can find him." She demanded of the man.
"I've gave you enough information, I will not give anymore until you give me money," he said in a raspy voice.
"I will not give you money, you should be heppy enough I have talked to you." A growl escaped her throat.
"No money, no deal." He turned and pretended she wasn't there. Munwithurix gave another growl, and then stood up and walked back over to the bar, muttering things to herself, now how was she suppose to find this chosen.
Nariwa Kona - November 28, 2005 02:34 AM (GMT)
The night was unusally dark. Something was awry, but Kona could not put his finger on it. Ever since he had become the chosen of Veronna, strange things had been happeneing. Her visions, Stirling coming for revenge as a demon infused freak, and a strange young elf that had trouble with anger. Kona sub-conciously reached for his chest. Where the final blow had been deliverd in that debilitating fight. A slash, straight down that burned day and night. Kona was used to the pain now, but from now on would never let what happened then happen again.
He got to the Bloodseal on his rounds, where so many fights between him and evil had happened. Something happening that wasnt a fight would be nice for a change, but then again, he was born to fight. It was his life, being the Servant of Blades. He didnt mind that. Then something struck him.
Detect Evil. An evil he had felt before, but only slightly. It must have had something to do with Uramo. Uramo must have been near it at one time. And it was inside the tavern. Kona's arms folded, his hands gripping his daggers under his coat arms. It was cold outside, so it would be unoticable. But instead of headlong into battle, Kona decided he owuld observe first. He walked inside and sat at the bar.
The bar keep walked up, and his eyes twitched to the left. Kona nodded. It was here all right, and everyone else knew it was here as well. Kona did not look around. Like a spider waiting in its web, he waited. He even allowed his aura to show to add to the allure.
Munwithurix - November 28, 2005 03:12 AM (GMT)
Munwithurix turned her head slightly and looked at the man who had just walked in, a small smile escaped her as she looked the man up and down, he had to be the one, he had a aura about him, Detect good was a good spell to have, and this man shone brightly with good. Turning around she faced the man, Kona, and smiled at him, the first thing to do was test to him if he knew who she was, and if he didn't then things will be going her way.
"Hello, I don't remeber seeing you here before, are you new to this place?" she asked, her dark eyes watched him but she tried to make herself look like she was nice, which was hard, for she dind't go in human form all the time, and when she did it was different to make the right faces.
Taking a sip of her wine, she stood up and walked over and sat closer to Kona, this was another test, to see if he was quick to attack, and if he wasn't then that meant he was willing to take time and wait for the right moment to strike. With another sip of her drink she finished it off and then ordered another drink.
Her body was screaming to change back to a dragon, for being in human form to long her body didn't like it. Power was building up inside her, she had saved her energy for this time, to destroy the chosen of the Goddess of Blades. The barmaid came back with her drink, Muinwithurix tossed a coin on the table, and grabbed her wine, waiting.
Nariwa Kona - November 28, 2005 03:50 AM (GMT)
Konahomaru remained calm when the ... thing approached him. It definetly bided its time, and he heard its salutation from across the bar. Odd, considering most greetings were given within a few feet, rather than from across a building. More to suspect from it.
It asking whether or not he was knew, also told him the she herself was in fact new. Kona was certaintly not new news in Taras. He had been protecting it for around a year now, and was well known and trusted among the people. The reason why the barkeep gave him the heads-up as to where the thing was.
Kona look over, not giving any sideways or suspecting look. He could see now it was a female, but something about her was not entirely human. Uramo must have seen her in person somewhere. That bond surely was handy. His Sense Motive immediatly revealed her intentions. Ill willed toward his own livelyhood.
Instead of shock, or any sense of recognition, Kona responded indifferently. "No. Not new. I just dont tend to come here unless there is trouble. I thought there might be trouble in here tonight, so I came. But, I dont see any. So, maybe tonight will be an easy one. May I ask your name?" he said, giving a polite nod to the seat next to him. Doing so would put her in range of his daggers, and with his famous speed, she would find herself in a dire sitaution should she try something. Kona was prepared. Should she decide to keep distance, there was always his arsenal of holy spells, and longer blades.
Munwithurix - November 30, 2005 02:03 AM (GMT)
Munwhturix sat down just a seat away from Kona, a smile on her face, "My name is Tarra, I come in here at times, but I have never seen you before," there was something she really didn't like about this man, so she figured she should keep a little bit away from him, since he probably had some sort of weapon hidden somewhere.
Deciding it was time to maybe start useing a simple, Munwithurix casted Bulls Strength on herself, incase she needed it soon, which she probably did. Her muscles started to feel more powerful then normal, and she couldn't wait to use the power.
The wine in her cup started to get low as she sipped it with anticipation, trying to decide if she should attack or not, she was getting tired of talking...
She shifted in her armor, wondering what to do next, turning she stilled smiled at Kona, but now it was getting more annoyed. Her eyes watched the man closely, waiting to see of he would pull a knife out of somewhere, most likely where he hid his hands, inside of his coat, That's why she kept a little distance from him, incase he attacked.
Munwithurix casted another spell, this one was going to make her more agile and quick, the spell was called Cat's Grace, and it should help if he attacked. She hoped her actions didn't show how the spells were affecting her, her speed was increasing and her strength was almost about to break the glass she held in her hand, but she had to wait a little while before attacking.
Nariwa Kona - November 30, 2005 03:16 PM (GMT)
Kona glanced at the barkeep when the woman came over. The barkeep nodded. Kona blinked twice, and the barkeep brought over a drink. Kona always ordered water, becuase alcohol inhibited the senses. He needed to be o his sharpest at all times, and especially right now. Since there was a mysterious woman with an evil way about her that accused him of being new here. Fool.
Kona looked at 'Tarra' and knew immediatly she was lying. That was not her name, but he wouldnt let on to that he knew. Kona took a sip of water, and set the glass back down. "It is nice to meet you... Tarra. Did I say that right?" Kona asked, as if to be the polite stranger.
There was something magical about this person suddenly that he saw in her face and body movements. She was getting speedier, and a crack rana long the edge of the glass she was holding that wasnt there previously. Something was afoot. Either she was extremely nervous, which he did not sense, or she had some sort of spell casted on her, and was having trouble controlling the effects.
She definetly intended trouble. Since her reactions seemed to be speedier now, Kona did not underestimate her like he did in his last fight with Stirling, in which he underestimated his will power. Kona silently prepared his Shield of Faith, to be raised at any time necessary.
Munwithurix - December 1, 2005 07:09 PM (GMT)
"Yes, my name is Tarra," Munwithurix said again, her smile was now less intense as she started to figure out what she should do, she really didn't have much to talk about, and the only reason she was talking to him was so she could get to know how strong he was, and what his intentions were.
Then she decided that it was time to attack, she knew that she couldn't place him lower in her catagory of enemies, since he was the Chosen. So, with a quick movment, she stood up and started to transform, she always prefered her true form then the human one she used.
As her body started to groan and ache she casted the spell Haste the make her less vulnerable while transforming. Her neck started to grow and her head grew longer. Her back bone started to lengthen as her tail bone grew out. At her shoulder blades wings came forth. She then fell forth to all fours and her hands and legs grew large claws and grew in length. Scales then started to cover her body, starting from her newly formed dragon head then to her growing tail.
The bar then was becoming to small to hold a black dragon, or at least when she would want to move around.
And then, in about thirty seconds where she stood in human form, she was there as a dragon, with huge wings and a mouth that dripped acid. Her claws scrapped the floor as her body finished growing on in the inside of her. Her tail now swung back and forth, the barb finished growing and was as sharp as ever. Tables flew each time brought her tail around, people ran from the bar, but not screaming, for they were evil like her, and they weren't terrified at seeing a black Dragon.
Her dark sunken eyes glared down at the man she had came here to fight, he seemed small now, but she still was weary of him. "I was tired of talking, and I decided it was time for you to die," she chuckled, acid dripped to the floor, making sizzeling noises. "I am Munwithurix, dragon of the Haunted Marsh."
Nariwa Kona - December 1, 2005 11:08 PM (GMT)
When the woman stood up he saw in her that it was her time to attack. Quickly, Kona jumped off of his bar stool and drew his daggers in defence. He raised them up, and kept lively, just in case she charged at him. Then something he had not expected happened.
Konahomaru watched in more curiousity than astonishment as she grew and transformed, becoming more grotesque. The bar evacuated quickly, as they should have. Kona kicked the bar stool at her with a mighty blow, and it flew in in the air straight for her head.
Kona used this to buy some time. It would only serve as a distraction of course, it would take more than a meere wodden stool to phase a dragon. That strange familiarity again. Kona had once heard of a black dragon called "Munwithurix" from Vernon, the rat creature he despised so much.
Kona sheathed his daggers in his wrist sheaths, and threw off his coat. He had little room, and didnt want to have any loose ends for the dragon to catch him buy. He reached to his Lightning Blade and drew it, his heralded weapon. It cackled with electricity, eager to strike its foe, its godly sharpness twinkling in the light of the bar.
"I thought I had heard of you somewhere. Perhaps you know of Vernon?" asked Kona, shouting up at the dragon to make sure he was heard.
Munwithurix - December 2, 2005 04:23 AM (GMT)
As the stool was thrown at her she quickly flung her head horns at it, and it went flying in a different direction, smashing into a window, glass went everywhere, it only bounced of her thick hide. She chuckled as Kona mentioned Vernon, "Yes I know of Vernon, he was the rat I ran into a while ago, and he wasn't that strong, last I remebered..." her eyes watched closely at every movement Kona made, she wasn't about to be killed by a human.
After watching him draw his sword she casted a Shield spell, but it only protected her front, meaning she could be attacked from the back.
Then she lifted one of her front claws and pointed it at the ceiling and sent a Magic Missile at it, making some of the roof fall in, she needed more room to move, and this was the best way to do it.
Now she had enough head room, and she could stand on her hind legs and watch Kona. So she balanced on her back legs and in her right clawed hand she made a Icey Orb started to grow, and as she made that another thing was forming in the other claw, this was crackling and then Lightning was in her palm.
"I never finished that rat off, we didn't have time to finish the fight, but next time I will make sure he will be taken care of," she hissed to herself, "But for you, I will stop your good, and make sure that you will not bother me for some time." With this she pushed her left claw forward and the lightning crackled fourth, straight at Kona, the blue light a dazzling but terrifying.
Magic was hers to rule, and she was going to use it right, for power.
Nariwa Kona - December 2, 2005 03:35 PM (GMT)
Konahomaru nodded. She was here to make sure that he could not fight back against evil, she must have something to do with Ranewen. He had picked up a few things from Uramo, before his presence seemed to disapear.
He did not want to waste energy blocking the lightning with his Shield of Fiath, he would use that instead for a more powerful attack. It puzzled him somewhat. Did she not know that he was a lightning elemental, and as such was resistant to electricity? Even surviving off of it? Perhaps not.
Still, it did have its effects, and so Kona jumped out of the way. It struck the wodden floor where he used to stand and left a black pockmark, smoke rising out of the hole in the wood.
Without hesitation, Kona took advantage of the possible recoil and close ground between him and Munwithurix. He raised his sword, holding it with both hands. There was a hole in the roof, and so he decided to take advantage. "Mine's bigger." he said, and swung the blade down, the ectricity increased and threw sparks off of him and the sword, and a lightning bolt from the sky came speeding down towards the Black Dragons head.
Munwithurix - December 2, 2005 09:04 PM (GMT)
Munwithurix growled and threw the ice orb at him while he was charging something from his sword. And as she released the orb lightning crackled and she looked up, just in time to see a giant bolt coming right towards her head, she moved to the side but she was so fast and the walls were too close. There was a crash as she hit the wall and went right through it.
When the lightning bolt hit the ground she felt some of the electricity zap her, but it didn't cause to much problems, except now her body twitched slightly. He didn't seemed to be afraid of the lightning bolt she used, so he must have lightning element, okay, she could use other spells.
Fine, if he wanted to fight melee then she was willing to do that as well. Where the Ice orb was a firey Lash grew from her hand, it hissed and burned things that it touched. She lifted it into the air and snapped it a few times, it crackled and the fire on it grew a little.
And then she casted the spell Ring of Fire, and it surrounded her and Kona, it grew from the ground and made a small circle, but she made it stretch a little bit more so they could fight in it, and so she could fit. It burned some of the bar and other surrounding wood caught fire. Now Munwithurix heard people scream, must be they saw the fire from the main part of town, where the people who would be afraid of her.
"If you like to fight Melee then I can do that, but you will not use your magic weapons, you will have to try killing me with your sword alone, and I will not use my projectile spells. I will use only the spell I have out and other melee ones. Does this sound fair to you?" She spoke with a loud enough voice so she could be heard over the burning buildings.
Nariwa Kona - December 5, 2005 03:33 PM (GMT)
Kona thought about it and nodded. Of course she would do that, since he was at close range, projectiles were not a good choice. Kona had the advantage thier, and in the fact that she was confined, and could not escape his lightning assaults so easily. It made sense. However, Konahomaru did not know anything about her other spells.
"It does sound fair. I will give you a privilege, only becuase others lives are at stake. Keep in mind however, that I grant no mercy to evil in any other case. If there is a next time, you will not have the same liberty." Kona anserwed, still shouting up to make sure that the dragon could hear. He gave a quick flick of his Lightning Blade, and the electricty stopped coursing. Then he sheathed it on his back.
At the same time, Kona reached down with his left hand and drew his katana. The Celestian Steel glimmered in the firelight, casting off reflections in various directions onto the walls, the dragon, and himself. He raised the katana with both hands, into the attack position, just above the shoulder and pointing at the enemy.
Munwithurix - February 3, 2006 02:57 AM (GMT)
Grinning Munwithurix snapped the whip a couple of times, and then she casted a spell and her body became liquid like water, making so that physical attacks would cause little to no damage. Watching she kept a close eye on her enemy, who had returned his lightning sword and drew out a different one.
"I am honored you make such an exception for me," making a mock bow,"Oh, and don't worry, sir Kona, I will make sure there will not be a next time," she said chuckling to herself, "I will make sure I will win this fight." Getting more serious she bent down and landed on all four of her feet, and then jumped back up and sat on her hunches.
The place where they were fighting at was small and not much room at all, so getting another idea she looked back towards the chosen of the Goddess of Blades, and grinned. "I don't know about you but this place is alittle small to fight in," Her head turned towards the direction of the arena. "Would you prefer to fight in the arena?" she asked. She didn't like being in such a small space to melee fight, and the arena was meant for this stuff, and the ground was better footing for her clawed feet. So she turned and waited for the mans reply.
Nariwa Kona - February 3, 2006 03:57 PM (GMT)
Kona smiled to himself when the Munwithurix turned into some sort of water being. Of course she would want him to put away his lightning blade! Water beings were especially weak against electricity attacks, and one hit from another lightning bolt or a shock from the sword would end the fight quickly. Kona had given his word however, so he did not change weapons. Listening intently to her words, Kona almost laughed.
"I would not dare give you one more advantage, you have already schemed me into one." Kona replied, and without giving her any chance to talk back, he alunched into action. Since she was made entirely out of water at the moment, he would have to resort to his arsenal of holy spells, which would be equally effective if not more effective on the evil black dragon.
He sheathed his katana, it would be useless at this point, and extra weight out around him would make him less agile. He raised his hands, and caling up the holy power within himself, he cast the Judgement spell into the room. It would no doubt wreak havoc on the dragon for a few minutes, and give Kona time to find a way to defeat her. Maybe it would even break her concentration on the water being type spell, and return her to flesh and bone. That would be extremely convenient.
Munwithurix - February 3, 2006 10:48 PM (GMT)
Cursing Munwithurix glared down at the the man, no of course he wouldn't go for it, that would give her to much an advantage, even though she wasn't going to get cocky, he was a Chosen. Soon the man came foward and put his sword away, he was smart compared to some she had fought, he knew he couldn't inflict any real damage on her when she used the water spell.
But then something started to hurt in her chest and went to her legs and neck, it was a sharp pain and made her hurt all over. She fell over onto her front legs again, she couldn't stay with that much pain. Soon it past and she wanted to throw all her spells at him, but she wasn't going to break the treaty her and Kona made.
In response to the pain spell, or whatever it was, she stood back up and got her whip ready, but she wasn't going to use, instead she used Freezing Grasp on her back feet. Even with the fire around them the spell would last for a while, especially if she hit him with it.
After that she stopped using her water form spell and she went back to normal. She made her whip go away and then her hands started to change into dark featureless claws that were dark. She lashed out with Claws of Darkness, Kona was right there and the claws she now had were bigger then her normal ones and they reached almost right to him. Slashing at Kona she hoped to hit him, even if she didn't it should still make him back up or jump.
Nariwa Kona - February 6, 2006 03:59 PM (GMT)
Kona raised an eyebrow when the dragon froze her feet to the ground. Is she insane? The would only make her more vulnerable to a much more mobile opponent. Unless she was planning something big. Something that would normally throw her off balance and end the fight for her, but by way of freezing herself to the ground she could prevent it. But what massive thing would she do such as that?
He got his answer. Kona observed with a slight amount of awe as her claws grew in size and strength, and a dark aura started to spill from them. It was almost as if he were in a slow motion situation, as the claws barreled through space and time right at him. Split second decision, life or death. Without hesitation, Kona jumped through the air and past the gap he saw in her claws.
Something ripped through his left leg, but that was a small sacrifice to bear for his whole body being torn to shreds. Landing in a three point stance, Konahomaru was now under the Munwithurix. His leg was weak, and he could feel the dark powers creeping up it.
With grim determination, Kona braced himself on his other leg, drew his katana, and thrust up as hard as he possibly could. The darkness started creeping up him even further, and Kona only hoped that he would be able to do enough damage to either kill or seriously wound the enemy.
