Description: may we live in time...

Poetry in sound, it is what made this city as beautiful as it is. The sounds drifted in the winds, in the streets, around every corner and bend. To close your eyes, you wouldn't miss a thing, the music made the sites beautiful. Malik's pink lips set against the light blue Ocarina's marble-like mouthpiece. His eyelids fell shut. Inhalation through his nose filled is longs, and a long exhalation filled the Ocarina with noise. His fingers fidgeted against the holes that covered the top and side of the Ocarina. There were eight holes in all, seven on top fingers, and two on bottome for thumb. The song he began to play was labeled "Trials of a timeless here," written by none other than himself. Malik loved the music he played, he loved it dearly. He loved his music and he loved his Ocarina.

He took a step back and exhaled strongly making the sound echo in the courtyard, adding more music to the uproar in the square. He wondered if any of his friends were here. He stopped playing and opened his eyes.

Meera's eyes closed softly as she inhaled the sweet freshness of the air in Cascadia. This was the first town she had entered when coming to Imythess. The memories seemed so long ago, but yet they were as fresh in her mind as the night before. Her heart soared as she looked at all the happy people bustling around in this busy city. The many waterfalls nearby provided a constant water source, so many people were carrying buckets of water to start their day. The sound of commotion was down to a soft murmer that suggested how busy the town was, but did not seem to cover even half of what was truly going on. Surpassing the sounds of voices and the clopping of horse hooves was that of a flute. Smiling at its beauty, Meera was almost drawn towards the sound. Her steps slowed and her strides enlogated as she began to walk towards the beautiful melody's source. Her steps brought her to a small courtyard. Not wary of any dangers that could await her in the alley before it, she stopped and just listened in ecstasy for a moment. A small breeze seemed to pick up and blow softly around, carrying the music to her ears with such fullness that Meera felt honored to be witnessing this.

Her golden emerald gaze once again fluttered open and she lay her eyes on the source of the sound. Smiling brightly, she softly muttered her spell to detect his alignment before she dared surprise him by walking into the clearing. Sensing good, she was releived and her shoulders relaxed as well as her ivory wings. Stepping out of the shadows, she waited until he was done his song and spoke. She assured him, "I mean you no harm, I was simply drawn her by the beautiful melody of your music." She absentmindedly brushed a hair from her face and placed it back behind her ear. Looking around, Meera noticed that he had been alone until he came. Laughing, she blushed then asked "do you mind if I stay here? Please do continue to play. It sounds quite wonderful." No matter what she thought, some people liked their privacy. Meera had to respect that fact so she offered the man an early chance to get rid of her. She hoped he wouldn't, but she wasn't going to be pushy about such a silly thing as listening to his music on the flute.

The woman had startled him. He nearly dropped his ocinara in her presence. He looked her over, she was magnificantly beautiful and her fragrance was astounding. After looking her over, he decided she looked well enough to trust enough to speak to, and spoke he did, "I hadn't known you were watching. I usually only play the ocarina in the presence of myself or those of the forest. You needn't leave, this is a public, yet empty square that all are welcome to. I have no problem with your presence. If you wish it, I will continue to play, do you have any preferance to a particular song or melody in which you would like me to play?"

He looked over the instrument that he had just played. It was such a simple looking piece of marble and clay, though it produced such a melodic tune with the simple gesture of hands covering holes upon it's top and bottom and air blowing through the mouthpiece. It really didn't take much but a simple thing to create something not so simple. Was it like this with all life? Was it like this with all action and will? Could a single man, yet so simple create something so much beautiful and complex than he, like this ocinara and it's melody?

Meera's soft eyes did not miss him looking her over. She blushed, but did not do anything other than that. Waiting for him to speak, her eyes traveled over the various flowers and shrubbery that grew in this small enclosed space. She hated these little spaces and yet she found herself in one right now. These spaces seemed to be tricking the trees. Meera had always found the actual woods and outdoors much more relaxing and only there could she enjoy the true beauty of nature. Bringing her gaze back to the man, she finally heard him speak. She smiled at him as he said she could stay. He had a point, it was public, and she could even stay if he told her he didn't want her to. Meera just felt it was better to just ask first. She didn't want to offend the man upon first sight of him. That wouldn't be a very good start of a possible friendship. To his question, she shook her head and answered "I just like listening. The one you were playing before sounded beautiful." She really didn't know any songs. Mostly, when she heard something she liked, she memorized the notes and not the title.

Spying a bench, Meera headed towards it. It was not too far away from the man and she was able to still stay somewhat in the center of the courtyard. Sitting down, she leaned her back against the edge and swung her legs up so she was sitting sideways. Waiting patiently, her hand moved up to her hair and it was run through. Absentmindedly, Meera's eyes closed and she soaked in the silence. Opening her eyes back up, she looked to the man. He reminded her of her friend Astalder. Astalder was a blonde elf like him, and also loved music. Remembering his name, she almost forgot that she hadn't given her own. She smiled and rolled her eyes at herself. She said "Sorry, I almost forgot. I'm Meera." Her hand stuck out as an offer on a shake. Almost as if they had to seal a deal. That, of course wasn't the case at all.
