Title: Searching for Answers

Bane - October 9, 2005 10:49 PM (GMT)
Bane walked through the streets of the city, it was raining hard and thunder rumbled in the distance. Most stands were closing up for the night due to the rain and inns and taverns were packed tight. However Bane never did enjoy the taverns unless he needed some elven wine or he needed answers tonight though he would go the library for answers.

He swung open the great doors and the few scholars and fellow magic users who were studying stared up to look at the imposing figure of Bane. His glowing eye scanned the room, looking around he saw several powerful wizards just by glancing at them. He ignored them and paid them no attention.

His quest to defeat the gods was beginning to consume him and he needed answers, any answer on how to defeat them. His anger at the betrayal of the gods had not softned over the years but had only grown stronger. His nightmares became worse, and his ambition only grew.

He found a book that attracted his attention and read it over the course of an hour, scanning for any information. Finding none he threw it the ground and many of the occupants stared in horror that a beloved book had been mistreated. Bane simply gave them a glare and they returned to their studies, others leaving.

He picked another and another and even more and found no answers. His frustration growing he ripped the pages of many books. Finally a man approached him, "Sir I'm going to have to ask you to leave." He said calmly but he was obviously scared out of his mind.

Bane ignored him but the man persisted, "Sir... you must leave I will not-" Bane interupted him, "Not what? Tolerate it... what will you do about filth? Do I need to show you the strength of my magic!?" Bane's voice pierced the man's heart and the man trembled, "Sir you are going to have to leave." Bane stood throwing the table to the ground and onto its side.

The man took an invoulintary step backwards and Bane turned on him, "Listen peasant you will get out of my sight within seconds or it will be your head!" His voice didn't rise but the venom in it did. The man drew a dagger, hidden in his pouch. He tried to do it quietly but Bane had noticed and was prepared when the man thrusted it at him. Bane turned it around quickly and threw it into the man's chest, "Your heart will have to do." Bane said in a disgusted tone as the man fell to the floor clutching the dagger that had mortaly wounded him.

Someone however had been watching and wasn't happy, "Shouldn't do that."

[OOC: Figured it'd be a nice little rp. Sorry that I power played a little but figured it'd be ok. Let me know if it isn't thanks!]

Nariwa Kona - October 10, 2005 03:02 PM (GMT)
"You shouldnt do that." Kona said. It was bad enough he disrespected all the wizards in here. They were out of town, and doing some research here. Kona was an escort of sorts. He could handle the disrespect, but the murder was enough.

"We dont tend to welcome people into our town who throw books everywhere and than murder somebody." Konahomaru continued. He wasnt exactly angry, that was something impossible for him as yet. He was just dissapointed. His dark side was starting to show through. It felt strange, acting dark, but it felt good too.

Kona stood, and drew his Lightning Blade. Sparks jumped off of it and curled around his fist. The swords own electric energy tapping into Kona's current, making it more powerfull than it would have been in any one elses hand. The Goddess of Blades emblem gleamed on it, eager in anticipation of new blood.

Konahomaru walked towards the offender, casually. His famous trap, it always got those who thought they were as good as Kona was. Most people thought they were better, and thats what got them killed, maimed, or other worse things.

"If im not mistaken, you are of the evil aligment?" He asked. Kona didnt count on a positive answer, but if he recieved one, the man would be very sorry for it. Kona smiled. More darkness. This was too good.

(you are allowed to control NPC's. dont worry. And its also generally accepted to give an introduction for a different chracter.)

Bane - October 10, 2005 11:03 PM (GMT)
Bane slowly drew his wand underneath his cloak and did not even spare the approaching man a glance. How pathetic... the man thinks he can touch me. A slight chuckle came from Bane but it wasn't one of joy. It was a chuckle few had heard and lived to tell others about it.

Bane slowly stood and now he faced Kona, "And what do you think you are doing addressing me filth!?" He snarled. A crowd had gathered around the two and with the drawn sword it was obviously going to be a duel. Bane decided it'd be best to just get to it and simply be done with it rather than going through all the stupid bantering.

He moved his hand to face the man's sword, not saying a word a blue blast of magical energy erupted from the wand on a course with the elegant sword. Bane had long ago mastered the skill of silent spell casting and its usefulness had become very clear many times especially now.

[Ok thanks! :) ]

Nariwa Kona - October 11, 2005 03:34 PM (GMT)
Kona listened to the mans words, and thought even lower of himself. Words denote weakness, only action can make one strong. Still, Konahomaru knew the face that the man had. He was going to take action, and was charging into a battle he did not know, or at least thought he knew, he could win.

Kona saw the magical missile speed at his sword. Quickly he grabbed it with both hands and held strong, his blade had been blessed by the Goddess of Blades, and would not break. If that was the case, then the missile would have no place to go but ricochet towards his opponent.

It impacted his sword with quite a bit of force, and almost knocked Kona off balance. He quickly re-sorted his feet and did not see were it ricocheted too. Kona did not take any chances, and quickly drew his katana with his spare hand.

Then he used his own magic. Konahomarus aura became visible, sparks jumping off of his body and the intense light started to glow at his center, and also from his eyes. Kona activated the Judgment spell. Soon, the man would be driven crazy with pain and unable to fight. Then it would be all over.

Bane - October 11, 2005 08:04 PM (GMT)
Bane fell to his knees and rolled to left to his feet as the magic missile came back at him. He raised his wand to cast a spell when he was overcome with unbearable pain. He fell to his knees again the pain slowly overwhelming him but he began to fight it. He had suffered much worse pain then he was now and he had come out of it. He searched for any strength and found it growing within him.

Still writhing with pain he brought his wand up and seeing the shadow of the man on the floor and taking a guess of his location he used the inflict wound spell. His only help was to get rid of the man's concentration so he could break the spell completely. After casting the inflict wound spell however he shot off another magic missile spell in the same area if only a little off from the twitching of pain.

The pain filled him again as he brought himself to his knees again, that was his one shot but he wasn't limited to that he had other ways to get the man and he would hold them in reserve until they were desperately needed.

Nariwa Kona - October 12, 2005 03:39 PM (GMT)
Kona concentrated ever greater, and put more and more power into the spell. He could feel the criminals pain and heard his suffering. It made him feel good. enough of that, however, Konahomaru shook the feeling. This wasnt some sort of entertainment, it was serious business.

Konahomaru felt a dark energy move towards him, and then a cut opened up on his cheek. The pain was noticeable, but wasnt enough to break him from the spell. Then another magic bolt came hurtling towards him, and grazed his shoulder as it went past. At first Konahomaru felt nothing, then a burning sensation went through him. That part was too much, he could no longer put anymore power into the spell.

Kona resolved to let the spell hold on its own. It would stay in effect until he left, or until the man left. Konahomaru quickly came upon the evil creature, and brought down his Lightning Blade to pin his arm to the ground. If succesfull, the blade would stop him from moving so readily, and shock him into submission.

This was way to easy. Something was afoot, but Kona ignored the instinct.
